Stopped for burgers and beers and then Avi turned it into a memorable afternoon for three life long friends. We were enjoying our lunch when Avi approached our table to inform us the bar was properly set up and began reviewing the drinks menu. The first drink he recommended was the«Pink Slip» not knowing that Helene had lost her job the previous day. We all laughed and stated that it was karma! Needless to say we ordered a round and they were delicious. Avi continued to engage us and really set the tone for a great trip to the city. We will be back, I promise!

Great old fashioneds, and lovely atmosphere. Bar staff is a tad slow at times, but Hudson common is still a great place for an after work drink.

This is a great spot if you’re looking for a casual atmosphere to enjoy snacks and drinks. In the summer, take advantage of the outdoor patio. If you’re coming with a group, it may be easier to make a reservation, there’s no charge to hold a spot. It’s a nice biergarten feel with picnic benches. There’s no wait time for service, because you order directly from the takeout window, and the food is ready very quickly. There isn’t a huge variety of beer, but from what they have, there are good beers to choose from.

Went here for a friends birthday. Did not stay in the hotel, just went to the bar. Cool atmosphere and music was pretty good. We got the lamb burger, common burger, french toast grilled cheese and fries. The lamb burger was decent but the common burger was literally a patty thrown on a bun with nothing else. for $ 12. The grilled cheese and french fries were delicious though. Drinks were average price for a NYC bar but very strong which was fine for me. The bar wasnt overly packed so we had room to actually move. I’d maybe go here again for drinks but I wouldnt eat here.

Second floor Hudson Hotel. Take a right at the reception desk, down the hall, and you’ll enter into a dining area with twinkle lights hanging from the ceiling and seating where you can actually have your own personal space and conversation which I have found to be rare in the busy city of Manhattan. Food here on the other hand is … Wellllllllls. Not up to its level. They ran out of some ingredients so we ended up with the common burger consisting of egg, patty, cheese, and bun plus a side a fries, of course. Burger itself was $ 14, yikes! It’s an extra fee for every ingredient or something. Fries were perfect and of abundance. Burger, eh. I’d only recommend this place is you’re staying in the hotel and are wanting some late nice carbs.

BLUF: Stars for ambience and casual setting. However, the food and drinks are far over priced and mediocre at best. Recently went to the Hudson in hopes of visiting Tequila Park. To our disappointment, we were informed that Tequila Park was closed until May(which would have been nice if that was on its Unilocal page or its website… hmmmmm). Anyhow, since we were already there and quite hungry, we decided to go to the Hudson Common right next to the outdoor patio. The bar is neat with a fire place, stools, and long tables with comfortable seats. It is a seat yourself style as long as there are no reserved signs about. We arrived at 6:45PM on a Saturday evening and found space without issue. The bar is in the front with a wide selection of liquor, craft beers on tap, and bottles of wine. In the back, there is another bar but just for food. The selection is minimal, from fries to burgers and salads. The lady ordered just a cheeseburger while I decided to try their lamb burger. The burger had brioche, ground lamb, tzatziki, pickled cucumber, and feta. The lamb was decent and surprisingly moist with the tzatziki sauce as a compliment but without a doubt, the burger did not taste to standard granted it was $ 14. The bun was slightly hard and the feta far over powering. The cucumbers were at an awkward maturation stage. Not sour enough to be pickles, not crunchy enough to be cucumbers. We decided to go for some wine with the burgers. Obviously to keep things classy. They had a decent selection but once again, was unnecessarily over priced. A bottle of their generic Sauvignon Blanc was $ 80 so we went with glasses at $ 14 a piece. Overall, your usual NYC trap. A beautiful looking setting to lure you in and then surprising you with average food and over priced drinks. But as a bonus, we witnessed a fight nearly breaking out which provided a little dinner side entertainment. However the staff handled the situation well and prevented any incidents.

Hard to pick a rating for this place, because I really liked some aspects and others were just okay. Likes: The ambience and décor in this place are really cool. It has this amazing earthy modern feel and comfortable seating, A+ Food: French fries were excellent. Burger was just average, and when you factor in the $ 14 price tag it was just mediocre. I realize it’s Manhattan, but a $ 14 hamburger still has to be damn good in my opinion. Overall, I might return here simply to try something else and to enjoy the décor, but I probly wouldn’t order a burger again unless it were miraculously 50% off or something.

We hosted an extended cocktail party here for our firm. Great experience. Nice open room with high ceilings. Fireplace is a nice touch. Good selection of beers. Probably a great spot to watch a game, as there are a number of large TVs. The food is «pretty good» although I think they could do more with it. Also, there are no servers; you have to go up to kitchen window to order, which is a little awkward for a party. It doesn’t seem like it should be a big deal to have people walking around with trays. But I’m being picky: fun place.

Barring a severe shortcoming, I’ll rarely give a bar fewer than four stars if it boasts at least a decent Belgian beer selection. While Hudson Common isn’t necessarily my kind of beer hall(calling any hotel bar a «beer hall» seem like a stretch to me, for whatever reason), I thorough enjoyed the time I spent here. Nice vibe, lively crowd, personable bartenders and of course, GOODBELGIANBEER. Before coming to Hudson Common, I was under the [very very wrong] impression that Library Bar was the only bar in the Hudson Hotel. It wasn’t until my evening companion and I(I’m aware that this sounds like I am — confirming popular belief — an escort. This is, contrary to such belief, not true. Sorry to disappoint.) ended up in different Hudson Hotel bars that I realized how mistaken I was. After sipping on a delightful cocktail at the Library Bar, we made our way to Hudson Common, which is as satisfactory as Library Bar but in a totally different way. Library Bar is where you go for quiet, intellectual discussion. Library Bar is where you go to reminisce about the days of yore than you’re not really entitled to reminisce about because you live in the 21st century. Library Bar is where you play chess with an old mate and look studly in an armchair. Hudson Common, on the other hand, boasts a subdued roar, the hallmark of an upscale beer hall. There’s an expansive bar area, a generous beer menu(for a hotel bar), central communal tables with smaller tables lining the periphery, and plenty of TVs(no news, just sports — thank God). It smells fantastic even at 5pm, which was unsettling to someone like me who typically doesn’t get hungry until 8. It’s got that wonderful, convivial energy that wafts out of all good beer halls. It’s got reserved tables aplenty, so good luck finding a seat at prime hours. I pretty much always opt for a draught beer over a bottle/can. I’m not sure where I learned this, but it’s my instinct basically anytime I’ve decided that beer will be my alcohol of choice for the night. However, I wasn’t too impressed with what was on tap. Why did I leave Library Bar again? Wait. Not so fast. Cease contempt prior to investigation, folks. Upon opening the menu, I discovered the mini treasure trove that is the bottle beer menu at Hudson Commons. Two mouthwatering Belgians called to me with their complex, nutty, aromatic siren songs. One was a Belgian Dubbel(Chimay Rouge Première) and one was a majestic Belgian Quad(a St. Bernadus). Two classy beers. And ain’t I a lucky gal, I suffered exactly zero consequences for giving into those aforementioned siren songs. If I had continued drinking, my conclusion would likely have a different ring to it. Cheers!

man. this could have been 4 stars. but i just got the worst energy from the person who took my food order. the way he handed it to me, the disdain, ugh. its like, midtown is notorious for bad service, and i get it, you fucking hate the out of town tourists they suck the reason to be good out of you. but i cant just couldnt deal with that cold attitude. it literally made me angry, tim was like, are you ok? and its so stupid that i even let it affect me like that in such a loud and outward way. im a mess a i know. but whatevrr. the calamari tasted like rubber. my point is, if you put your heart effort and spirit into what you do, it speaks volumes in the food. and i loved this places vibe outside of that. i could post up and write here. bring friends. bring a date. its fucking dope. $$$ drinks and vibes. cool couches and throne like seats. a fireplace. lots of seating. food. drink… its a gem of a find. a true gem in midtown. ill be back and hopefully that guy isnt on his shift.

Came here for drinks for a friend’s birthday and had an awesome time! Loved the décor — upscale casual — fitting for a Friday/Saturday night when you want to go out but not really want to get incredibly dressed up. Nice that there’s food too. Music was good. Drinks are on the pricier side, but expected given the location. Bartenders were nice. Overall great service here!

Five stars for Hamburgers and lounging!!! Large open space with ambient lighting and a fireplace makes this a perfect spot for lunch and lounge. It’s the second time we had the burger at this place and it’s by far the best burger I have ever had!!! Twice!!! Ad cheese and fries with truffle mayo and you have the perfect meal.

Awesome ambiance here, the place is beautifully decorated! The other bars in this hotel(Library Bar, Sky Terrace) look incredible as well. We were seeing a show nearby so we popped in for a drink and had an awesome time. We managed to get a seat on the leather sofa next to the fireplace and the waitress told us she’s been working there for years and has never seen it open so we arrived at the right time! There are lots of long tables but also nooks and crannies available so it’s great for couples and also for groups. The drinks are delicious and there are plenty of creative ones to choose from.

This place saved my butt when I tried to plan a surprise farewell happy hour for my coworker and then failed to book a reservation at a super hyped place. Apparently I fail at being a New Yorker. We came here instead and had a chill time between the amazing burgers, fries, TRUFFLEPARMESANPOPCORN(*get this*), and booze while sitting at their beautiful long wooden tables. If you’re looking for a semi-healthy food option, their corn salad with wine and vinegar-based dressing might have been my favorite dish there. The only thing that didn’t contribute to a full 5 stars is their weird food ordering system. No one was there at the food pickup window to give our food to us and hence we waited another 5 – 7 minutes AFTER I received a text that my food was ready before I finally went to the food *ordering* window to ask someone to hand me our food. Then we realized that an order of fries was never placed(even though I definitely ordered it) so we had to wait another 20 minutes for it. No one was rude or actively trying to ignore us, but if the dude behind the counter only looked back over his shoulder instead of merely arranging and rearranging the trays of food he’d have seen about 3 different customers trying to get the food he’s so busy rearranging. Overall, this is a classy establishment and I’ll be back. The alcohol is decent, the non-alcoholic drinks(especially the mint lemonade) is amazing, the lights overhead were absolutely beautiful, the music was hip but not too try-hard or obnoxious, and the food was solid.

Love coming here to work in the big communal space but wifi is awful. You can get the password from front desk but couldn’t connect and had to use hot spot. Decent food from the Togo window but beer and drinks are better. Ambiance is my favorite here and they have around 3 venues in the space. Always love Morgan Hotel group spaces.

Overall, it is a nice venue — 3.5 stars based off my experience. This is one of five places to eat/drink at the Hudson Hotel. It is a beer hall with a modern touch — very large venue, plenty of seating, bar food with a twist, craft beers, and specialty cocktails. I came here for a birthday party during the afternoon this past weekend. The venue itself is aesthetically pleasing — high quality wooden tables and seats in the middle, elegant bar in the back, and lounge seating in the corners and to the sides. The service was satisfactory. We did not have a server, but it was easy enough to order from the bar and food stand. The cocktails tasted good but were somewhat expensive given the provided portions. There were some specials(i.e. $ 5 per Victoria or $ 10 per selected specialty drink), but our group ordered these drinks based on their price versus quality. My girlfriend and I ordered the French toast grilled cheese and bacon cheeseburger and enjoyed both items. Others got the pulled pork sandwich and said it was OK. Cheeseburger and pulled pork were reasonably priced, and the modified grilled cheese was $ 14. I would come back here again if I were planning an event, or found myself in the area with a large group looking for some day drinking. The drink/food pricing is fairly comparable to other hotel restaurants and bars.

I’m too old for this sh*t. Super crowded. Super loud(but good music selection). Expensive drinks. And just… blah. My 25 year old self would have had a good time, I bet you. To be fair, it’s a cool spot. This would be great for space to rent out for a private event. I recall going to a Unilocal event here and it was a good time. Would probably also be great if you were to get there earlier. Will not return unless someone invites me for a private event or discovers a youth potion.

A fun and cozy place to grab a casual drink or a bite. Can get crowded, but ample enough seating if you’re vigilant. Great beer options to be had. And an appealing fireplace. Ordering food can be a little bit of an ordeal. It’s an inexplicably slow process and the gent taking orders wasn’t too well-versed with the menu. Not to mention the concept of a line is a little«fluid.» You just have to be chill and ready to go with the flow. And we were quite happy with our burgers once received, even if it was like pulling teeth to get them to add anything beyond pickles. Wanna come back for the French toast grilled cheese which just sounds utterly baffling and amazing at the same time. Good spot to hang out with a group that’s on the larger side, and/or to catch the game on one of their multiple TVs throughout the space.

Hudson Common is the pub space at the Hudson Hotel. There is lots of open space, couches and comfy chairs and a plethora of TVs for watching sports. It can get crowded and you should definitely plan to make a reservation if you want a table on a weekend evening. It’s great that they have a «cafeteria» and we had the fries with velveeta ranch sauce and truffle popcorn. Yes, velveeta ranch sauce and it’s as good as you would imagine. Drinks are on the pricey side but would you expect anything less?

This place is huge! There is a rooftop bar, an outdoor patio, and a beer hall. each section is completely different. The rooftop bar is more intimate with a hammock and cushion sofa chairs, and only serves cocktails and not beer or food. The outdoor patio is more relaxed and sells tacos and cocktails. The beer hall is cozy with a fireplace and has tap and bottle beers as well as food. You can not leave here without ordering the French toast grilled cheese sandwich. It was so delicious– thick texas style toast with cheese and a hint of truffle oil. It was perfect combination of savory and sweet. Skip the truffle fries though(the fries were stale and not that tasty) I really loved this place, the hotel is very beautifully decorated and the beer hall is magical!
