The most enjoyable falafels are served here. The other items on the menu could be better. Hummus is too bland as are the babaganoush. The pitas are usually very fresh.

We got to know about this place from groupon. We have been here a couple of times since then and we love the food! Our favourites are the roasted eggplant, the hummus platter and the veggie patties with couscous. Their Mediterranean Mojito is delicious and very refreshing! A must have!

Just went here for brunch today with a friend and was not let down. There are a few options for brunch but they are all great! I got the aubergine eggs and they were awesome. Also I got a side of haloumi cheese which was delicious. The waiter even refilled my orange juice for free. The service was very quick and it was very reasonably priced. Would come here again for sure.

Some of the best hummus around. Service is friendly and speedy. Would recommend cauliflower, hummus platter, shakshuka, or veggie platter. Been here several times and never disappointed! Yum.

Shakshuka was great. The only reason this place doesn’t get a higher rating is they charge full price for iced tea which they make onsite which is obnoxious. Pita is amazing as well.

my favorite hummus in NYC. Smooth, creamy, rich stuff. Heavier on the seaseme tahini than the lemon or garlic. Generous portions at a more than reasonable price

I have been going here(as well as their other locations) for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. Food is always fresh, tasty and on point! Service is always good and friendly. Fava hummus is my favorite!

Simply amazing… What made this place so special to me was the server… my wife was having surgery which required her to be on a strict diet, we told her exactly what she could not have. She listen patiently and talk to us and asked questions and bought her the best salad… That was just perfect… Now that is unheard of this day for service… now let’s talk about the Hummus… oMg! The best ever… with corn tortillas… I ate the hummus alone… We sat outside and people watched and enjoyed the atmosphere and the service… It was unexpectedly amazing!!! Prices just right!

Hummus Place is a solid stop for food in the West Village. I’ve been here twice, most recently a few weeks ago before seeing Colin Quinn at Cherry Lane Theater. I needed a quick bite to eat and this establishment was perfect for a Hummus and Pita Bread snack. They don’t give a lot of Pita Bread but the Hummus portion was generous and tasty. It wasn’t bland as Hummus can sometimes be, and the amount of Tahini was perfect. The vibe of the restaurant is very laid back but still nice. It’s the kind of place you can go in dress shirt and pants or a t shirt and shorts and feel at home either way. The servers there are also super nice. This is a bonus because that’s not always the case in NYC(or anywhere else).

This place is routinely one of the best places around for a meal. The portions are always very generous, the food is fresh and well-prepared, its never too crowded, and the prices are right. I tend to get the option that lets me get three different toppings, and some pita for dipping. Ask for some extra pita, as what they give you probably won’t be enough. They also have wine and beer, and if you’re lucky you can sit outside and watch the world go by as you snark at people going into the not-nearly-as-good other area restaurants. Make this your West Village go-to.

Came here for lunch one day when in search for a place to sit down and enjoy some falafel. The restaurant itself is fairly laid back and casual, thus making it a good stop for Mediterranean food if in the area. The food however, I found to be just average. I had the falafel sandwich was just ok. I’m a huge falafel fan and have had some amazing falafel at various places in the city. I found that this place’s version was just ok. Could have been fried a bit more and seasoned better. The reviews here are great, so it’s unfortunate I didn’t have the same experience from a food standpoint. But again, I love falafel and really have had some amazing versions, so this place just didn’t do it for me.

Found this place to meet a very sweet lady for dinner. Ambiance is very casual and music can be a little loud at times. The food however was good, tasty and fresh. Not a lot of options on the menu, which is geared more towards brunch and appetizers rather than entrees. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Loved the place. I would say it was the best Mediterranean I’ve ever had. The lentil soup was amazing and I also tried humus with mushroom and onion topping and falafel sandwich. Everything was simple awesome.

This was my second visit to Hummus Place, about 6 years after the first, and it was just as good as I remembered. We’d eaten a bunch of baked goods for dinner(don’t judge me, it was vacation), so we weren’t super hungry but knew eating some real food was the responsible thing to do. We split a mezze of hummus, roasted eggplant, and rice and lentils. The rice and lentils were, honestly, quite boring without chili sauce. They’d do well to add some caramelized onions or something to liven up the flavor. The roasted eggplant was heavenly — cooked perfectly past being spongy but not yet mushy, and had an excellent tahini sauce on top. Last but definitely not least, the hummus is sheer perfection. It’s like what you always say you’re going to make at home, but never do. It’s simple, creamy, delicious. Just wonderful. Also, our waiter — a younger guy with blonde hair — was seriously the nicest stranger I’ve ever come across in New York.

Came for brunch with high hopes as have always loved the lunch special at their St Mark’s location. The service and atmosphere were both excellent here. I was disappointed with the shakshouka eggs – they didn’t have much flavor. It didn’t seem like the eggs and the peppers were cooked together – seemed like maybe the eggs and spinach were thrown on top? The brunch was pricey but reasonable considering the neighborhood and that it is a large quantity of food. I will be back to try the lunch special here – the hummus and tahini were super, and I’ll probably hone in on that stuff and stay away from the eggy brunch inventions, with all due respect!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant location for quite some time. It’s one of my favorite places to get Middle Eastern food. I get the Shakshuka every time I’m here and it always tastes great. I have tried the sampler platter with the different types of hummus and that is always very good. Their brunch/lunch specials are amazing! I love that you get a lot of food for your money and it’s healthy, tasty food. It always fills me up and I don’t get hungry quickly after eating this. I like how you can pick what type of pita bread you want, regular or whole wheat. Their drinks are very good also. I had the mint green tea and it tasted fresh and not over powering with the mint, it’s just right. The location itself gives you a cozy feel also. Definitely recommend it!

My favorite middle eastern restaurant!!! I always get a sampler platter(choose 3 items from a special menu for $ 12) you never go wrong, and its super filling The service has definitely improved compared to the first time I visited, Everyone is genuinely pleasant now and makes certain you are taken care of.

I work a block away so I’m usually here at least once a week. I swear, I don’t really need meat. I could go full on vegetarian if I could afford to eat here every day for The rest of my life. I haven’t been disappointed by anything on the menu this far. The lunch special is ginormous and includes a free side of your choosing, usually costing around $ 15 if you’re a standard tipper. But tip a little more next time cause you’ll love it

I used a Groupon for takeout a couple nights ago for $ 24 worth of take out from Hummus Place. This got us two falafel sandwiches and a container of babaganoush, which we took home. The falafel sandwiches were large and filling, but sans the peppers and pickles, it just wasn’t as satisfying. They were pretty average, and at $ 10 a piece, I’d rather pick one up from Taim, which is cheaper than that. Or Mamoun’s Falafel. The sandwiches don’t come close to Taim, but they do taste decent. The hot sauce is a great addition to the sandwich — not too spicy, but packed with flavor. Without the hot sauce, though, my rating might have gone down a star. The babaganoush was far too salty for us, and you get one tiny pita bread to eat the entire thing. Good flavor, but way, way too salty. With Taim right down the street(for cheaper, and you can pick falafel flavors), it’s hard to choose HP.

I don’t hand out five star reviews very often. But when I do it’s usually because of a combination of service and value. Hummus Place really hit that mark on my most recent visit. I had been before but didn’t think all that much of it. But I came here for a quick Sunday brunch and realized what a great value this place is. $ 14 for a whole plate of food, PLUS coffee PLUS juice. I had the salmon and eggs, which came with potatoes and hummus and pita and a salad. Seriously way too much food and I couldn’t finish it. Coffee was tastier than I expected/remembered, and it never reached empty before being refilled. If you know me, that’s a huge tell of the service for brunch. Our waiter Cole really seems to enjoy his job. Friendly, quick, and efficient, he’s the one that brought what was a four star review up to five stars. There should be more employees in this world like Cole.
