Their falafel salad is amazing– I add avocado and goat cheese ! My co worker and I order them at least 3 times a week– always fresh and filling! Highly recommend. The delivery service is also pretty fast.

Food was good, and the ONE person who was working at 1:30 on a Sunday was pretty willing to help us out, but other than that, this place is a wreck. They didn’t have cups, spread bowls, or certain sauces. The guy that was working had to call his manager twice to ask where things were. They had about 4 water bottles and a soda machine that was useless without cups. The poor guy had to put our spreads in the single random bowl and soup cup that he managed to find, and covered them with plastic wrap instead of lids. Because the other location wasn’t open during the posted hours, we asked if we could use our Groupon at this location. Thankfully they were happy to accept it, even though they didn’t serve the smoothies that were supposed to be included. We really appreciated them accepting he Groupon, though. The food took a lot longer than it should have(probably because there was only 1 guy working), and it just is not professionally run. We gave the guy $ 5 for his trouble because none of it was his fault. I’d avoid it in the future.

It’s going to be hard for this place to compete with the stand a block further down due to price point. From the Muhammara and the spices on the lamb/beef as well as the OK brand of Mamoul they seem to be selling, I am pretty sure this place is Syrian, which makes me a bit happy as I am half Syrian(and half German.) It could be Lebanese but my hunch is that it’s Syrian. I think this place should along with their filled bowls should have chicken/“the works” over rice. Would get more people in the store as the prices were probably be lower. Around a 3.5 or something similar. I’ll bump it up as the mint lemonade is excellent. Had the works bowl with added Muhammara and said lemonade for 15 bucks. A bit much but it’s pretty good. The works were good. The spices were on point. White/garlic sauce was good as well. Red sauce needed a bit more heat. Muhammara was fine as was the lettuce and pickle/pepper. it was a semi-normal salad. A guy there, most likely the owner, gave me a free Mamoul which was nice. There were no smoothies the next time I showed up. When/if they get their smoothie act together, I plan on trying their date/fig smoothie or cherry pomegranate. I think I’m overrating this but there might be a bit of bias here.

I always try mirage chicken bowl from here. The flavored rice, chicken and the hot sauce on side are my favorite. The food is really delicious but sometimes i don’t know what goes wrong. The rice will be too hard and even the chicken is dried up. I think they should work on it !

This place breaks my heart. This particular location is basically a giant doggy bag for the real spot on the east side. They used to cook everything up on the spot and it was amazing. Now they scoop dried up rice and chicken out of take out containers and typically don’t even have all the ingredients. Get your shit together. This place was my go to and I continue to give them a chance knowing what it could be, but I’m left wildly disappointed every single time. Get some management and bring this place back to life. Please I beg of you.

I love the food here. It’s amazing. But y’all gotta get your shit together. One day it’s no credit card machine. The next day it’s no rice. The next day it’s no salad dressing. Cmon Mann

I wish I could give 0 stars. Just picked up food from there and«tried» to eat it. It was awful. I Was already skeptical about it when the guy told me that there was no lentil soup or falafel or tomatoes! And gave me food in a bowl that did not have an appropriate lid. When I got home and started eating. Rice was undercooked and chicken was not fresh at all. I called them back to let them know that the food was awful and the only response was thank you. No wonder there was not a single soul in the restaurant and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes out of business soon.

Mirage Kitchen knows how to run a business. I’d never heard of the restaurant before, but was craving Middle Eastern food and they popped up on EAT24. Menu looked simple and affordable, so I went ahead and ordered a Fiery Falafel Bowl, baba ghanoush, and a pineapple mango smoothie. A few minutes after I placed my order, I received a call saying that their West Village location doesn’t sell smoothies — no biggie, we’ll just cancel it. When the delivery came, the super nice delivery guy was very apologetic about being 10 minutes late. TEN! I didn’t even notice! What delivery person in NYC even bothers to grunt hello when they arrive at your door 2 hours late, let alone 10 minutes? Great attitude. I checked the bag and inside there were two huge cartons of baba ghanoush and an order of baklava, to make up for the lack of smoothie. Loving it already. However, I did notice that there was no pita bread, which was supposed to come with the now plentiful baba ghanoush — I really didn’t want to be *that* person, but I saw that I had just missed a phone call from them anyways, so I decided to call back and test the waters. The employee who picked up was very accommodating and sent the same delivery guy back out to deliver the fresh pita immediatel. He arrived at my door in 15 minutes, with a bag of pipin’ hot pita and a big smile on his face. In the bag was a note: «Thank you for your tolerance and patience :)» — how sweet is that? Oh, the food is delicious too. Almost forgot to mention that ;)

Hmmmmm. Let’s See, when I was ordering the sandwich online the place look very good, I was very excited to try the sandwich. Ones I got there to pickup, I saw a close sing on the door. I got scared that my sandwich will be made in that condition. The place wasn’t Clean at all, there is boxes laying all over the store. No people, The owner was revy helpfull. I ASKEDHIM to put the souse on the side, so I could enjoy the test of the meat. Hunustly there was no test on the meat it was terrible, West of money. I hate to leave bad feedback but I think when we going to a fast food we paying for a good testy food, and not only good customer

Can’t figure out why this place isn’t more crowded. Best iteration of fast casual Mediterranean in the city.

Thought I’d stop by again. Thursday 5−28−15 at 9:00 pm. Service was quick and the food was fresh. But why they choose to blast crap music at full volume? It makes for a very unpleasant dining experience when you choose to eat at the store A word of advice to management. tell your employees they want to blast blast the music they ought to bring headphones for themselves and spare the guests Not recommended. Bring earplugs!

Mirage Kitchen is flat out righteous at at time when greed is rampant. A simple menu with very fresh salad. The 3 proteins(lamb, beef, and chicken) are all good. Protein for the veggie is an excellent humus. They give you a healthy portion for little money. On this recent visit, I had the salad bowl with lamb & beef combo aka«The Works»… Two hungry adults would’ve been quite satisfied and happy to split the $ 13.50. If you’re roaming through the West Village on a budget, no need to worry. Love the wrap-around concrete counter with view to 7th Ave & Grove St. This the spot, people. Happy Spring, 2015!

The chicken shawarma salad bowl is incredible! Perfectly cooked tender meat and delicious seasoning. I love the labneh in the salad bowl – tastes very good with the chicken. Be sure to try the chickpea fries with the magic white sauce! Will definitely be a regular here and recommend it to everyone in the area! Check it out

I’ve ordered from Mirage three times, and each time it’s gotten progressively worse. The first time I went there – right after it opened – my experience was flawless. The second time I went in, they forgot minor things – the chickpea fry sauce, the pita for the dips. They were also so high it took 25 minutes to get one sandwich, and I was only in there with one other person. The third time, I ordered on Seamless and they had to call to tell me they didn’t have pita bread, which is pretty ridiculous when you consider that nearly every item on their menu involves this type of bread. They were also out of one of the types of dip I wanted, so I asked them to to give a hummus and a baba. I received two of the same exact hummus. The falafel was overcooked to the point of inedibility. And the flatbread they replaced the pita with couldn’t hold the sandwiches together and was stale. What’s becoming clear is that this place has the ability to push out good food, but the management is hiring people that lack the competence to do so. Sadly, I will never take a chance on this place again, and it would have been a weekly staple for me.

It was a Saturday, I was out with some friends waiting for a table at one of the numerous packed places on that block and just couldn’t wait so snuck out to this quaint place for a quick appetizer. I ordered«Mirage Chicken» which was described as «chicken breast» on the display board. But it was showarma, which is not a bad thing but it definitely is a bad thing if you only want chicken breast. The Showarma and rice bowl looked amazing but the rice was cold and the Showarma was cold and below average, looked old. I ordered a side of Mhamara. Also disappointed. Instead of flavorful red peppers, it was grainy and dry. Sorry Mirage, the place looked awesome it really did, wood, metal and great colors.

Modern classic Meddle Eastern street food — if you’re tired of Taim, try this place. It wowed me. Creamy white garlic(nothing garlicky) sauce is a must on everything. The sauce tasted like a mixture of tahini and lemon with a hint of garlic behind. I enjoyed this sauce a lot. The Works($ 7.95) — it did work for me. The meat was moist and with a punch of good flavors from the complex spices and the salad, cornichon, tomato, fresh red onion with their delicious white sauce made a perfect wrap for me.(it is rather a wrap than sandwich). The pita that was used as a wrap was a flaky dough like Malaysian Roti Canai flatbread and not what we usually know, soft and chewy. Five-Spice Falafel Sandwich($ 7.95) — unfortunately it wasn’t good as Taim. It might had been just this one or the falafels were from pre-cooked ones. The grainy falafel made dry in my mouth but, thanks to their delicious white sauce, dump the delicious white sauce on the wrap and it’s alive. Spread Combo($ 9.95) — great deal if you like very thick paste like miso paste eggplant babaganoush, creamy hummus(chickpea) and thick tahini sauce. It was too much food for just two of us but if you have that as an entire meal for two would be a perfect portion. We also got a soup of the day, lentil soup, was rich and flavorful soup. If you see it, try it.

For the price, the platter was really good. It’s basically the nicer version of what you’d get at a halal cart. Usually the kind of lamb and beef you’d get on top or a platter at middle eastern restaurants is chopped super fine and pretty dry. This had huge chunks of lamb and beef that were flavorful. The rice and salad were good too! It was a bit dry, but a little white and hot sauce fixed it. The hummus was also delicious, although a little bit too cold so it was really stiff at the beginning. The chickpea fries were delicious but definitely not worth $ 3.50. I think we got maybe six fries total. Falafel was also really not worth it. So dense and dry! I would come back if I’m craving that kind of halal cart food. I think they have a couple kinks to work out, but overall it was good. The people were also really friendly which made up for some of the shortcomings on the food.

Get ‘The Works’ as a schwarma or platter. Add a side of chickpea fries. Eat yourself into a delicious food coma. You’re welcome. Looks like this place is brand new… I must say though, unlike a lot of places, this one seems to not be experiencing the inevitable«new food joint» growing pains.
