Adam is a miracle worker! My blonde highlights and haircut have never looked better. No waiting, pleasant atmosphere, and people who care about your hair. Love this place.

I went in at 6pm yesterday for just a wash and cut. My ends literally looked like Barbie doll hair after trying to brush it in the wrong direction. They immediately sent me for shampoo and conditioning and Natasha immediately got to work on my hair. I am Puerto Rican, and I will be honest, I wasn’t sure she would know how to handle my hair as its not«white girl» hair. It has texture and tends to be curly, not to mention its presently dyed platinum but she went in and cut me to the Gods! She cut all the dead hair off and left me with a fabulous choppy shoulder length bob that she blowed out with amazing ease. I didn’t give it five stars because Ive gotten similar cuts in Queens for cheap and I found for a blow dry and cut and wash, 60 was just a little expensive. But it is the city so I could say its not too bad all things considered. Will DEFINITLY be coming back!

Hey this place is cool. I like cool people and they did a great job on my beard. Sasha was helping me to decide on the look I should go with. Although I’m not planing to shave my beard any time soon. they trimmed it. All I can say is big thank and that I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

This is the first and probably only review I will ever write. Irena is amazing. I got so many compliments on the ombré she did last year, she has also done a single process and full highlights for me. I always love her work! She is very honest, always able to make time for me, and the prices are reasonable for Manhattan! Svetlana has cut my hair and always does a great job as well! Love them here, so happy I found a great colorist in the city!

I love getting my haircut with Drita. She’s typically the seat next to the window, so if you’re window shy, it might not be the best space. However, I’m not one to rant and rave about my hair stylists but Drita is LEGIT. I’ve spent exorbitant amounts of money on my hair ranging from 85 – 250 and I was tired of it. I found out about Drita because she frequents my place of work and I figured, why not? So $ 35 later and the best haircut I’ve gotten in a very, very long time and she has me sold for life. I highly recommend her to a point where all I need to say his: «just make me look sexy» and I leave like Beyonce’s DIVA is the soundtrack in my head.

This is for the awesome CHEAP Brazilians in the basement! The lady is really nice, gets you in and out in 15 minutes, and it’s $ 30! No frills, you’re in the basement, but she does a good job and is nice about it.

Will not return! They pushed services on me that I didn’t ask for and then told me one price but charged another. When I came up to a receptionist to ask what’s the deal, she was no help at all. Something that should have cost me $ 3 ended up costing me $ 22. Completely pissed off. Even though the lady was very nice, she was too pushy and like I said, told me one price then at the register she charged me a different price.

The worst brazilian wax I’ve ever gotten. I think the«esthetician’s» name was Anita. Esthetician’s is is quotes because I’m pretty sure she is not certified — there is a nail cert. on the wall and when I asked her for her esthetician certification(after she did a horrible job) she said I could come back Tuesday and she would have it(this was Saturday); When I went into the room for the wax, she didn’t leave so I could get undressed — I had to ask her(she didn’t leave for me to get dressed when she was done either). Okay, she’s going to see my privates anyway, but typically the esthetician will leave the room. The wax begins, she puts the wax pot between my legs(instead of leaving it on the counter), I was nervous it was going to tip on me the whole time. She continuously double dipped and kept using the same wax strip over and over… even though I asked her not to and told her I was concerned about how unsanitary this is. She had to go over the same areas multiple times because she didn’t hold the skin taut when she pulled the wax off — I left in pain and still covered in hair because of this. I had to go home and individually tweeze dozens and dozens of hairs. Hopefully I don’t get some kind of infection from the ridiculously unsanitary practices of this place. Don’t go here for a brazilian.

I have been going to Jean Leon for waxing. Bella is the master esthetician and she has been doing waxing for me for over ten years. It is inexpensive($ 30 for Brazilian and $ 25 for full arms) and Bella does an amazing job. I lost touch with her when she left the 54th Street nail salon and thank God, I ran into her on the street one day. And I have not gone anywhere else ever since. She is very sweet and nice, and with waxing, she does it thoroughly and quickly. The waxing room is always clean and neat.

I had a wonderful experience with Irena at Jean Leon salon. I went to her with a Lifebooker for a Ombré or Balayage highlight treatment, plus blowout. I added on a cut as well. I have had horrible experiences with hair color in the past and am very cautious about going to new stylists. Anyway, the reviews sounded pretty good so I decided to give it a try. The receptionist was very sweet and they even took me 15 minutes early. Irena sent nearly 10 minutes talking to me about what I wanted and looking at my hair. She asked me all about how I normally wear my hair, and looked closely at the pictures I brought. She explained exactly what she was thinking and how it would look on my hair(which is very fine and thin). I was astonished by how much time she took to get to know my hair and style. Rather than using the regular grid-system, Irena took my hair 1-inch chunk at a time and painted on the color in calculated places. She told me my hair would look sun kissed and natural, which it definitely does. She ended up doing a mix of ombré and balayage and did not charge me a cent more. I did get a cut with my treatment, which was only $ 30. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience with Irena and will definitely be coming back. She gave me great tips on how to best maintain my specific type of hair. After the blow dry she also showed me how it would look nice half up, and offered to take photos. Plus, I saw a lot of people coming in and out of the salon that seem to have been going there for years(everyone knew their names). To me, that shows good service and quality treatment. I highly recommend Irena!

I’ve been going to Irina at Jean Leon for nearly 5 years now. Possibly my longest stylist relationship in NYC. If you take in a few photos of different cuts you are interested in, she will work to make them fit your hair and your style. She’s also just a really experienced stylist.

I have been going here for about 6 years. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Drita is the best. She is very nice and does an excellent job on my hair. Prices are reasonable for Manhattan.

I’m giving it a star because it was fine. They painted my nails and it looks ok, that’s all. The salon is a little bit outdated and dark inside, and I’m afraid I didn’t get the best service. The manicurist said barely two words to me the whole time and instead continued a conversation in Spanish with the other manicurist and another customer. When I was finished with my mani, they said I had to pay, and even though I assured them I had paid through Lifebooker, they did not believe me. I felt humiliated as I had to argue that I had already paid, while other customers looked on. The manager even came down to tell me I was wrong and made me charge my credit card bill. However, after double-checking, they saw I was actually correct and had paid. They rang through a refund on my card and said a short apology. However, it was too little too late. I will not be back.

I went to this salon to get a manicure because the list on the door said $ 12. I chose to use two different colors — but no fancy designs or anything — and it went up to almost $ 30! I would never pay that much, and they should have warned me. Additionally, she didn’t even do a very good job! I’m not going back.

This is for the nail salon downstairs. I was happy I found this place because my usual salon couldn’t fit me in at the last minute. There was a mani/pedi special for $ 30, so I figured why not? The place was empty except for one person who was just finishing up. One of the nail technicians bounced up from her magazine as soon as I walked in, eager to get started. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but halfway through the service, she got incredibly upset and almost seemed to pout. I have no idea what happened… I just know that my toenails look great and my fingernails look like crap. The color is very uneven and she didn’t even cover my whole nail! At the end of the session, she pointed to a nail drying station, then walked over and spoke with another employee. She seemed upset, but since I can’t speak whatever language they did, I had no idea what was going on. I felt incredibly uncomfortable the whole time, though the one other customer didn’t seem to mind. I quickly paid and left. It was very odd, and I don’t think I’ll return.
