Orderd the chicken and red velvet waffles and mac&cheese for delivery… the food was great. the red velvet waffles was a little to sweet for me but it was good… the delivery was fast… the only issue with the delivery was that i orderd lemonade. .it was in a Styrofoam cup. by the time i received my meal most of the drink spilled out into the bag… the cup was sqashed in transit and a smal hole was in the cup dripping the juice all in the bag… i would recommend to use different cups for delivery.

I have never seen this place packed and that is probably all due to its location. However, perhaps it’s because most find it more comfortable to order take-out as I did thé last time I was in there. Something about being thé only patron in this place holds no allure. We ordered: bbq ribs, hot wings, bbq wings, thé sliders, chicken fingers, Sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, string beans, and regular french fries. I should probably mention it was for a hungry crowd– not just two people. It was funny to see the réaction of thé staff when hearing thé order et placed as it really seemed we were cleaning them out of their day’s inventory. All of this came up to approximately $ 64. Not bad but I definitely thought the ribs were Bland(I prefer a dry rub), and thé wings were all thé same but with différent sauces. Overall it was a solid meal but nothing that would knock your socks off. Préparation time was reasonable and thé service was very pleasant. The bathroom was out of service(gasp) so I cant comment on that. Very simple décor. I would return to dine in and see if that is any more enticing.

We will never order from here again. Ordered once when we moved to the neighborhood — food was mediocre at best. Thought we’d give them another chance this morning. Wrong move. They said the order would take 30 – 45 minutes. It took ANHOURAND25MINUTES to arrive. We ordered pancakes, bacon, and home fries. The pancakes were, unsurprisingly, cold and soggy. The bacon was rubbery and inedible. And the home fries were just plain gross. I also had to leave for work, and had to shove all this nasty food down because I was starving, and I’ve been nauseous ever since. We called the restaurant AND seamless web directly, and all we got was 10% off our order. The food was gross and the service was inexcusable. Never again.

Very friendly staff. Looking forward to tasting the food. It’s off the beaten path in Harlem. While the staff is friendly the food is terrible. The fish and chips lacked seasoning and freshness. The all shrimp meal was bad as well. I will not return. I wish I could get a refund for my meal.

What a lovely spot in Harlem! First-off: The service was fantastic. When we went in customer volume was light and the server attended to us right away. During the meal the chef came out to ask us how we liked our meal and we were delighted to chat with him for several minutes. It appears a family-run establishment and by the time we left we felt thoroughly at home. One of the best compliments we could think to give. Secondly, a place that has real Southern-style gumbo in NYC? Yes, please! My wife(a Floridian who is very familiar with both the seafood and traditional New Orleans styles) was actually impressed with the authentic flavor — no small feat. It figures, having met the chef, who hails from Florida himself. Additionally, if you’re in NYC and looking for ACTUAL southern-style potato salad(not this weird, sugary kind that seems to be the only thing available here in the northeast), then this is your place. A great mustard-based, tangy variety is just one side option along with several other options including cinnamon yams, garlic sauteed spinach and cole slaw(which were all delicious!). The Mac Daddy’s Famous Fried Chicken was delicious and crazy-moist. The grilled chicken sliders tasted amazing(and weren’t your typical teeny-tiny sliders. Portions are not small, so bring both an appetite and strong arms to bring home any leftovers. All-in-all, we are very happy to have found this gem here in the heart of Harlem and will be sure to pass along the news to friends and family as well. Places like this that ooze not only flavor, but also love and passion for providing a great neighborhood experience deserve continued patronage and dependable, loyal local customers. We are glad to have found such a great restaurant so close to us. We can’t wait to return and try it for brunch!

Quaint restaurant with warm and friendly staff. The chef came out to introduce himself and ask about my experience and Ms. Lisa, the manger makes you feel like you’ve been there before. Super affordable. I ordered the fried wings that were so moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. I also ordered the gumbo that took me back to New Orleans. So authentic, so tasty. I’ll definitely go back to JG’s on Madison. I was told they deliver so that gumbo will come in handy on those cold winter days. Something to look forward to.
