Probably my favorite coffee shop in this neighborhood. Intimate with still enough space to sit, very friendly staff, and the best pastries you will ever taste. Despite being an NYC chain, this location still feels local and cozy. And their espresso drinks are some of the best in the entire city. Great black iced tea too. I also love their almond dirty chai. It’s 50 cents more for almond or soy milk in espresso drinks, but I love the fact that they have soy milk out at the self-service bar. Awesome! It’s often more of a meet-up-and-chat place since there’s no wifi, but there are still plenty of people working on laptops too. The pastries come from a variety of local places, and include the best whole wheat banana bread you will ever eat. So moist and delicious! They offer muffins, scones, croissants, biscotti, and cookies too(including a very good vegan chocolate chip cookie) Plus any place that sells Doughnut Plant is a friend of mine.

Came in at 6 for a pre dinner jolt and service was super fast! Got a simple iced coffee and it was definitely delicious. However, they don’t put our cream or sugar so you have to ask for it and they give you the whole gallon

Strongest coffee I’ve had in the city. Usually have to drink a large but here you only need a small

Always come here after work on Tuesdays for hot chocolate, cold chai lattes, and a pastry(muffin or biscotti). Great vibe — bring a book or bring a friend :)

as fantastic as an almond latte can be! Been here a few times and this place always ALWAYS makes the best latte as far as I’m concerned. I can’t even buy any other coffee if I’m around the area

I had a fantastic latte here last week while running an errand in the west village. I also had a currant cookie. The latte was fantastic. Maybe one of the best I’ve had in the city. The cookie was fresh and flavorful and filling. The barista was warm and friendly, although a bit rushed. I reeeeally like this place a lot. Big thumbs up!

Pretty good coffee, and if you consider that this is their main thing, enough said. But they sell also cookies and other kind of sweets which is, again, a food choice compatible with a cup of coffee.

Coffee is consistently good here. I was looking for a coffee shop on my way to work and stumbled on this place since it’s right next to the subway. Coffees aren’t to strong and bitter. I go for either the latte or mocha and if I have time, I get it to stay and relax before starting my day. Pastries are ok. If you want something sweet I would go for the donuts since they’re from Doughnut Plant. I tried the muffin — tasted too bland and healthy but in a bad way. Croissants are ok — I had one that tasted great and another one from a different day that tasted like it came from the grocery store :/

Went to Joe last week for a pre-dinner caffeine boost and was thoroughly charmed. This coffee shop is adorable — very West Village-esque. There’s plenty of table space and the coffee is good and strong. Will be back!

Just saw one of your workers take a whole display of pastries(over two dozen of different assortments), and throw it straight in the trash. That’s a disgusting waste of food. Right around the corner there was a homeless man asking for something to eat. At the very least leave it out for customers to take if it’s going to go to the trash, or drop it off to the many food collection services in NYC.

Great coffee, small little spot. Imagine you’d be hard pressed to find a seat in the morning. Husband thought baristas were a little stuck up. I didn’t notice, but I think I had less interaction.

staff is friendly and coffee is delicious, decent prices. almond milk for just $ 0.25 more — that’s great!!! never had it for that little bit of an extra charge. great window seating space and outdoor seats for summer days. only thing: no wifi and no bathroom.

I came to Joe’s after a lunch meeting. It is a very small coffee shop but there is room to sit inside and two benches outside. I believe there are other locations throughout the city. The staff were very polite and helped me with my selection. The quality of the coffee is great, much better than the major chains in the city. The prices of the selections were reasonable for the city. I would definitely go to this establishment again. The views expressed are of my own and are my true personal experience at this establishment. My personal experience may not reflect this actual establishment, their quality or someone else’s experience at the establishment.

My iced latte was fine. This rating is dedicated to the white-dude barista in the newsboy cap who was working on Friday afternoon and just being a raging asshole. The other guy taking orders was totally sweet and sort of smiled at me apologetically. He didn’t even really say anything but I felt like we had a lil unspoken moment of mutual sympathy. Also, the place literally advertises«cool air and iced beverages» and it was sweltering inside. They had an AC unit leaking water all over the floor and insisted on keeping the door open at the same time, which made no sense. There are a million different coffeeshops in this neighborhood. Go to a better one. And nice guy on the register, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry you have to work with a jerk!

J’ai juste testé le muffin végétarien(banane chocolate chips), et c’était plutôt sec et avec un fort goût que je né saurais pas expliquer. Donc allez y peut être pour le café, mais la pâtisserie né m’a pas convaincue…

Iced coffee was nothing special. Line was long… and I don’t think it’s because it was too crowded but rather service was a little slow.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I still love Joe Coffee. Founded in 2003(the one is West Village is the original location), Joe Coffee has opened several other spots throughout New York City. I have gotten the Jasmine Green iced tea here — it’s a perfect balance of refreshing-ness and slight bitterness of the tea. I love getting a large-sized iced tea and walking around the cute neighborhood with the tea. Additionally, the staff here is very friendly. I saw some delicious looking pastries and sweets on the counter, so will try that next time!

Have had multiple drinks from here– my current favorite is their cold brew. Strong, refreshing, and has a great flavorful aftertaste(unlike the watery ones at other places). Plus, I love their rotation of gluten free goodies! I’ve had the salted peanut butter cookie and pistachio cardamon bread: both have been moist and fulfilling. Nice atmosphere to squat for a few min to an hour to get some work done or lounge.(No wifi).

The Quick: Flavorful coffee at an adorable location on my favorite block(gay street!) The Details: Joe’s is the coffee lovers coffee shop. It’s cute, tucked away in a little corner on Gay Street. It’s always crowded but the line goes fast. If you happen to nab a spot early, it would be the perfect location to read a book and people watch. The actual coffee taste amazing and blows Starbucks out of the water. it’s a nice spot, I would return. The Details: A little pricey meaning you can’t get coffee for $.99 like McDonald’s. But you get what you pay for.

Pros: –Great Location –ADORABLE coffee shop –Friendly Baristas –Great tasting lattes and coffee! –Latte art, even with a to-go cup(I’m a sucker for latte art!) Cons: –Latte sizes are Small and Large… the Large is 12oz! –Too much foam. I’m all for the latte art, but if that means I only get to have half of my drink be actual liquid milk, I can skip it.
