Wanted to grab a quick coffee and this place caught my eye! The outside is very modern looking and the interior is just as cozy. I ordered the Passion latte(latte with cinnamon & cocoa) with skim milk. Unfortunately the drink was oddly watery, and the flavor was pretty weak… so i didn’t even finish it. However, for a small latte it was huge! At least 16−20oz if I had to guess. I wouldnt mind trying this place for a regular coffee in the future. As a plus, they serve empanadas which look delicious. It’s nice to see some real food other than the typical Starbucks fare of donuts & cake-pops.

I absolutely adore this coffee shop! I live on the West side and will be coming back every time I come to the East side. Please do yourselves a favor and make this your go-to spot for coffee runs! The plantain quiche was delightful. The décor and ambiance are stellar. That goes without saying the quality of the coffee, selection of pastries, and service surpass many in the city. The barista behind the bar was so sweet. Also a huge fan of how this is a farm to table initiative owned by coffee growers.

Heard and read so many great reviews about this place so I had to check it out myself. Went on a rainy Saturday morning before work and the place was empty. The workers/baristas were still prepping the place, but they still attended me with smiles. Pretty positive I was the first customer of the day. I got the Americano(no sugar or cream added) and their almond croissant(warmed). Um… DELICIOUS! Their americano is probably one of the better ones I’ve had. No bitter aftertaste, just wholesome goodness. Their almond croissant was packed with buttery and almond-y yumminess. With the two, I think it came out to be $ 6 and some cents. I’ve heard people say this place is expensive but I don’t think it’s that bad. I’m definitely going back for my coffee and to try the other delicious looking pastries.

I couldn’t connect to wifi for some reason but I got the raspberry scone. It smelled and looked delicious but it was so dry! I wanted to wash it down with coffee but the coffee was pretty bad too. The décor in the back is nice though and there are plenty of seats.

I came here really early probably around 7am. I walked in because I wanted to grab something to drink and use the restroom. The coffee was so bad. it made me feel kind of nauseous afterwards after only drinking few sips and basically dumped out the rest. there goes my money. the bathroom was disgusting! It smelled really bad and looked really dirty!

Love this café. I live nearby and come here often to do homework if I need a more stimulating environment. There’s so much seating and the place is very spacious. The place is very clean and the décor is absolutely beautiful — great lighting with floor-to-ceiling photographs of tropical mountains! Wifi is free and I’ve always gotten service with a smile. The coffee is delicious and reasonably priced! Also, free Wi-Fi for customers! Don’t go to Starbucks if you’re looking for a coffeeshop with a nice atmosphere — Juan Valdez is so much nicer and the coffee isn’t burnt.

Really cool Spanish coffee shop in midtown east. I had the almojabana(cheesy bread) and bunuelo(fried cheesy bread), neither of which I attempted to pronounce to the barista. I also had the freshly squeezed orange juice, yumm. Will have to come back for coffee or chai latte sometime!

Clean place, good for working. They’re coffee is good because it’s different(if that makes any sense). Good for a quick morning pick-up.

Call me Mrs Valdez! Love love love My Juan Valdez. Cardamom coffee is decent, buñuelo is seriously so comforting, cheesy warm bread. Wifi is free, wohooo. I had asked for wifi in various nearby locations and I was looked at like I asked if they did Snow! After walking too long for the elusive wifi magic, I needed to settle down and work before my feet gave out on me. Thankfully I made it just in time. Polite baristas, Coffee, snack, wifi, comfy seating, ample space, Latin music playing softly enough in the background. Call me enchanted!!! I spent sooo long Here so we are basically in a long term relationship. In our time together, I was not disappointed. It got crowded at times but nothing too bad. The area is intelligently designed. There’s a seating area near the front. For the go getters, in more of a rush. Then the booth to order and in the back the Business. Even the restroom is so awesome in that it is clean and efficiently set up. Could this place get any better!!! Please don’t take my gem away, if we must share, be nice to it!

Looked this place up on Unilocal since I had time to kill before I went to work. Place is clean, and the interior is modern done tastefully(I’m an interior designer so I really pay attention to detail). I ordered and latte and a croissant. The croissant was good just really flakey, just had to make sure I didn’t have millions of crumbs on me when leaving. The latte was good, it did its job of waking me up. Service was good and fast and staff was friendly. ANDOUTLETSANDFREEWIFI need I say more ??

I really like this place. Coffee was great, service was attentive, and there is TONS of space, which is rare for a coffee shop in this area. The South American-inspired coffee drinks were really delicious. I’ve been a few times and quality has been consistent. Make sure to ask for the wifi :)

Every time we come to NYC, we always have to stop in for coffee. Great value! Mocha and buttered croissant just 5 dollars. Great selection of coffee beans to buy. You’ll get hooked just like us.

OK. Glad I found this place. It’s a great place to work(free wifi, large spacious area in the back, outlets galore, small individual tables). I really dug the vibe of this place. The back room has wallpaper of the Colombian coffee hills. There is also a front seating section that is wooden and very modern. I guess this is for people who are just grabbing something quick and finishing it there before going back to work. In terms of coffee, I tried a Colombian coffee drink with cinnamon, cane sugar, and something else in it. It was flavorful! I also got the pan de guava, which was a disappointment because there was not enough guava in the pastry and so it just tasted like bread. However, it was well-baked and warmed up for me! There are many items in the display that I wanted to try, so I will be back!

This is a trendy café, bordering midtown and central park that offers free wifi and use of a bathroom with purchase. It’s really a nice place to grab a coffee and get out of the cold or heat. The pan de bono and pan de guava caught my eye and are tasty if you catch them in the morning or early afternoon. Grab one with a cappuccino. Lattes that I’ve ordered here came out perfect. It’s also a really nice place for people watching up front, however inside, there’s plenty of seating spaced out accordingly so it doesn’t feel cluttered… that is, if you can find a seat. You can expect some campers here hogging up space but of the times I’ve been here, there have always been an available table.

My favorite coffee place, galleta nevado is my favorite! It’s a shame all the other locations closed down because I love their products. I give it 4 stars because half the staff is excellent and the other half are very rude and snobby. Martin at the cashier was very sweet and friendly, very caring towards customers. Great amount of space and free wifi. Try their candy and all their food is good as well. It’s not cheap here but the quality is great :)

Good coffee, nice clean modern interior. The barista was really nice as well. I can’t speak for the food or their specialty drinks, but if I“m in the mood for an espresso/latte/coffee I would choose this place over a noisy dirty crowded Starbucks any day of the week. Summary: Good coffee. Nice clean interior. Amicable staff.

I been here twice now and JVC delivered. Obviously, its Colombian coffee — which I found very good(at least their coffee of the day). Other positives that I consider in my rating — great WIFI, adequate seating to work/converse/study, nice and quick service. I only went for the standard coffee so I cannot speak to their other items. Limited food items — pastries and what not. Its a relaxed, chill place and close to the 4÷5÷6 train. Very good place to plant yourself for hours if you need work through stuff.

I struggle to get a good cup of black coffee. Anywhere. So, knowing that Juan Valdez has the best coffee(on earth IMHO) we went out of our way to not only have a cup, but to stock up on coffee for the house. This particular location is tastefully decorated and was absolutely packed when we came, a testament to how awesome it is, however the only«but» that we would have is the amount of people just taking up space with nothing in front of them. Some on computers, some just sitting, they either finished their purchase a while ago or just came in out of the cold. We had to sit in the window bar seating and were the only two empty seats in the joint. We were surprised and delighted to find they have Colombian food staples as well as coffee, Almojabanas, Bunuelos and more. I was looking at the coffee menu and told my hubby«Aw i don’t see a ‘tinto’ anywhere» to which the girl behind the counter said«Sure we do! One black coffee coming up». Usually tintos are about half the size of a regular American cup of coffee so one«tinto» here was perfect for both of us to share. With a warm heart and full tummy(the Almojabana with guava was AHHHMAHHHZING) we went on our way into the cold.
