I enjoyed such a delicious salad from this place. Its messy, unorganized(I didn’t see the guy clean off the board before he chopped my salad… God forbid I was allergic to something prior) and pretty loud but my god was it delicious. The strawberry ving dressing that is in season now is delicious. It’s also about 60 cals! What a win!

I used to be a customer at the nearby Chop’t, but because of the rude service i consistently received I started walking the extra distance to come here. Very good selection and menu options, fast knowledgeable staff, and very friendly.

I LOVE Just Salad but the two time I’ve gone to this location I’ve had to worst experience. The salad is not fresh at all. Always a darker green and they put less salad in the bowl than any other location. Today when I walked in an employee took a customer’s order and walked away and then a minute later some other employee came up and just said«what do you want?» Then I clearly got the new«chopper» and asked him to chop it extra and after watching then poor guy attempting to chop it the other two employees JUSTSTOODTHERE watching him struggle, and not giving him tips or help but clearly watching him do it wrong. Then he forgot to mix the dressing in when he handed it too me. And to top it all off, they dont have the cutting board taught with the counter so my ceaser salad had some carrot and radish in it that I didn’t order

I order from this Just Salad at least once a week … today I found a little creature in my salad. Even tho it is only a lady bug, I am still slightly grossed out by a bug in my salad.

Ok this review is based off of just going there… The dressing is all on one side, in clumps, he didn’t make love to it like I like. Something items are there original size some are chopped up. This salad is not great for this to be a salad place. He went so fast and threw bread in there and I’m on a no carb diet so that sucks. I won’t be going back. The garment district is filled With salad places.

Today Monday March 14 at 12:45pm the girl putting the salad into the metal bowls, Maria, had a mean and unfriendly scowl the entire time she was interacting with guests. She was very rude and unwelcoming. Too bad since I love coming here. She definitely ruined the welcoming environment I am used to when I visit this location. Will now walk the extra block to go to Chopt.

Love the variety and staff is super efficient. Whisj they have better drink options as some of the drinks are so artificial that doesn’t go along well with a super health restaurant

I like Just Salad. The food is fresh and tasty. The staff is efficient, even if they are a bit clinical feeling. I typically get the turkey cobb, which has never disappointed. I usually eat here once a week or so.

Ordered at 12:49PM. It is now 2:50PM and the food is not here yet. This is now laughable at this point. Not my first bad experience. Not sure why I keep trying either…

Rude rude rude service. I hardly post negative reviews. Believe me, I’m not a competitor. Screw this place. Why pay high prices that comes with assembly line workers with attitudes.

When I first started to come here. I was hooked. Organic, non GMO salad. YES! The line was long but it goes fast. I bought the $ 1 bowl and everything. I notice a few times, the girls behind the counter sometimes forget a topping or 2. It could be that they are not friendly and doesn’t acknowledge you. It could be that the line is long and the people behind the counters just don’t give a damn. I even start writing the list of toppings I want and read to them so I can keep an eye on them if they put it in. One time I asked for avocado(which is cost $ 1) when I opened my bowl there’s just a little chunk of avocado. Where’s my AVOCADO? Not worth $ 1. for sure. Unfortunately, the last time I was there. I got food poison. That’s why it’s the last time. I can get salad anywhere. It shouldn’t be an unpleasant experience.

What a traumatic experience. It’s like this place is run by inmates. Walking in and the place is humid as a rainforest. Line is out the door. The line moves shockingly fast so I stuck around. A random employee walks over to me while I’m at the back of the line with a pad of paper and pen and just looks at me. Says nothing. I have to take the initiative to ask her if she’s taking my order or if I am supposed to wait till I reach the counter… or…what?! She rudely asks me if I know what I want. Of course there’s no way to know what I want since the menus are totally blocked by large pillars. You have to literally wait until you are right at the counter and another angry employee is giving you the death stare before you can see it. So I waited and quickly decided on a salad as I approached the lettuce girl. While I’m speaking, she YELLS at the person ahead of me to «MOVEDOWN!». I give her my order and not a word is spoken from her. Don’t even know if she heard me. I continue to move down the line like cattle in a slaughter house and end up at the add-in station. Everyone is SCREAMING in there so no one can hear anything. It’s like something out of a nightmare. Move on down the line to the chop station and the next employee proceeds to chop my salad with such vigor, pieces of it go flying onto my face and dress. By the time I’m handed my salad I feel depressed, exhausted, confused… scared, maybe? If you’re looking for a lunch experience akin to a prison cafeteria, be sure to check out Just Salad on 37th street.

I don’t know, but unless Just Salad makes some internal changes to either motivate or retrain their staff, I see this place losing to its competition and closing their doors soon. Not sure if it’s just this location or if all Just Salads have gone downhill, but my used to be favorite salad place keeps letting me down. My salad today(roasted turkey health cobb) has 5 ingredients minus the lettuce, so when you forget one of them(egg whites) it’s kind of a let down for close to $ 11. Mistakes happens, we’re human, but it’s becoming a reoccurring issue with Just Salad and the way their staff handles the process, even when it’s not busy, makes everything feel so hectic. I feel obligated to watch closely as the miserable employee put each ingredient into my salad, to make sure he/she doesn’t miss anything. Honestly the biggest difference between Just Salad vs SweetGreen and Chopt is the staff. The staff here just seems so lax(minus the chopping station — those guys are great) that they don’t even care if they miss an ingredient or if the ingredient container is running low, they’ll just give you what’s left even if it doesn’t fill that mini scooper they use or they give you none at all.

Okay, I’m sorry but this place just gets a big WTF in my book. Came here during lunch hour. Line wasn’t bad. Okay, so far, so good. Stood in line for a while and heard names being called — how was this happening? Where was the genesis of this communication? Three other patrons and I realized that they had been taking people’s orders for base greens alllll the way to the left, had stepped away for five minutes or so, and resumed taking orders. So the four of us, who had been waiting for a while(5 – 10 minutes during lunch hour is a while), were out of luck. So far, not so good. Asked for chicken. Chicken was added to my salad. Okay… looking up. Asked for portabella mushrooms. The woman took her tongs, took about ¼ of a portabella mushroom into the bowl. I stared at her in disbelief. «MushroomSSS», I repeated. «Oh you want mushrooms?», she asked. I told her that no, I wanted portabella mushrooms, not boring raw mushrooms(I let the second part stay in my mental bank of things I should not say to people helping me). She then said: «yeah, that’s this.» «So I just get one piece of one mushroom?», I asked. She said yes. I felt like I was in the twilight zone… so I said«okay, then I don’t want the mushroom». So far, so bad. Clearly, this rubbed me the wrong way. I mean I was fine without having the damn mushrooms. This wasn’t about the mushrooms. It was about feeling completely ripped off. Who knows what I would’ve been charged for — *gasp* — two small pieces of a mushroom. I shudder at the thought. Thankfully, the rest of my experience here was quite pleasant. The guy who chopped and dressed my salad was more pleasant than the average employee at a midtown lunch spot, as the was the cashier. The salad — sans mushroom(s), need I remind you — was pretty boring, but was as fresh and flavorful as it could’ve been. If you’re looking for interesting toppings — that’s toppings PLURAL — this isn’t your place. Everything is fresh and local, which I love. But I was unimpressed with the variety/lack thereof. Just fell short for me. I enjoyed my salad more than I expected to, but I will not be back. At least the bread was free.

The line is long, but it does move quickly! I love the fresh, locally-sourced, organic and fun ingredients and the brightly colored reusable salad bowls(it costs $ 1, but it’s worth it to get 2 free essential toppings or 1 free cheese on future purchases and to be nice to the environment). I really appreciate that they chop up the salad too — not only does it release all the flavors of the ingredients, but it makes it easier to eat as well. I recommend checking out the menu( ) beforehand so you know what you want. It can be overwhelming otherwise! Also, be warned that arugula costs $ 1 extra for some reason and this location has only a few 2-person tables for seating. Most of the tables are usually blocked by the really long line.

This restaurant is always packed at lunch time rush hour. The line is intimidating don’t let that get you. They service their customers fast and steadily. I like to the the California salad and substitute the egg whites for edamame. It’s a big bowl of veggies. Fresh and ready to order.

I’ve been coming to Just Salad on W37th street from the moment they open doors. This place has become gradually ridiculously expensive and unfriendly. Today I just had it! The girl that was picking up the greens didn’t even care she put a small pinch of greens and my 6 veggies(I have their bowl) so I stroll down to the chop guy he was chopping and veggies were flying all over the place half of the little salad I had went on the floor. I got my squeeze of ½ lemon as dressing splashed all over the guy instead of the chopping bowl because he was too busy talking to the delivery guys instead of paying attention to what he is doing. He didn’t even ask me if I want bread which is not a big deal to me because I wouldn’t take it anyway but he should’ve stopped talking in Spanish and pay a bit more attention to my order. Reached the register to pay mind I have the bowl with their name on it I was asked for the card I didn’t have it with me so he charged me regular instead of applying discount. What’s the point of having bowl with their name on it and carry card in addition? When I got to the office I discovered that I got ½ bowl of salad(attaching picture) for $ 9! Mazel Tov! Next week I’m walking two blocks up to Chop’t where no card is needed and your bowl of salad is loaded even when it’s chopped. Dear Just Salad I’m letting you know via Unilocal I’m breaking up with you! :) Buh Bye Just Salad!

Fresh and made exact to order. Modern, all natural, with sensitivity to one’s dietary needs. Staff is extremely friendly and personable. They have their own culture associated with their little place created by Chef Laura and it sure is a quick and sweet deal. Would go anytime and recommend to all no matter what your desired eats are. Only downside is how busy it gets. The line wraps around inside and out of the building. If you are in a rush, it may not work out but you can call ahead, place an order and pick it up.
