Good was not too bad. The Taro spring roll amazing! If you love spicy highly recommend the papaya salad. Has a nice kick of spiciness to it but not too much.

Best Thai Restaurant in town… so flavorful and real it’s unbelievable. You would only understand if you’ve been in Thailand! My husband took me to Klong for the first time last year for my birthday and it was amazing. The staff is so nice and caring too and the place is so romantic with a nice ambience… we went there for Valentines and again it was so yummi that u took my left over with me to the club lol. See you guys soon! You guys rock!

It was one of the nights when you don’t have a place in mind and just walk into a restaurant that intrigues you. I walked into Klong last Christmas with a couple of friends and wasn’t disappointed. The décor had a heavy asian influence, the place is dimly lit, tables are accentuated by candlelight and it looks like the kind of place to have a nice conversation over food and drinks. We ordered a bottle of white, a Thai Iced tea and the vegetable dumplings. I have a newfound appreciation for dumplings thanks to this place. I also realized dumplings go very well with a glass of Chardonnay. I also tried the Thai Iced tea which is quite different from other teas I’ve tasted so far, but equally delightful. Unlike normal Iced teas, this had a smoothness to it on account of milk and condensed milk. The best part? For the ambience and the quality of food, this place is really affordable! On my next visit(and there will definitely be one) I’m going to go all the way until dessert!

I’m surprised that this place has so many good reviews. Whenever I go there, the service is always pretty bad. The waiters are pretty rude and not very helpful. They’re not welcoming at all. The last time I went there with my friend, we felt like we were being rushed because the waitress kept coming up to us and asking us if we were done, and we were literally still eating. And one time there was hair in my friends food and she told our waiter and he gave her such a bad attitude about it before giving her a new plate. The only reason I keep coming back to this place is because I happen to be in St. Marks often and I love Thai food. They have pretty good prices and their lunch specials are generous. Their food is decent and that’s the only reason I’d give it two stars. If you want to go to a great Thai restaurant with great service, take a trip to Park Slope and go to Rice Thai. The food is way better, and the prices are about the same. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Absolutely love this place. Great Mojito drink special, not the best mojitos, but delicious and cheap. Amazing food, with great portions. Every time I go the service is great and the food is amazing. The price is right and the ambiance is cozy.

Very quick and fast service from their staff, you don’t see them leaning or slouching around. They were consistent in keeping our glasses full and asking if we were good despite the busy hour it was. They’ve got great happy hour on drinks and also their food is great! Nothing out of the ordinary or mouthwatering, but the taste definitely pleases the crave! We had brought cake since it was a friend’s birthday and apparently it’s 2 $ per person if we want to eat the cake. I don’t know what that charge was for. So we just ate it at a café across the street. Extensive menu with all the descriptions on food as well as drinks. Great décor inside and relatively spacious. They also have a bar by the entrance if you plan to just drink and chitchat. Definitely worth a visit.

My friend and I had lunch here a while ago and it’s been a long since I last been here. The restaurant still looks beautiful as I remembered. My friend and I came around 12 – 12:30PM on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of tables and seats for us to choose. We did the lunch special which included an entrée, side salad, and an appetizer of your choice as well. Thai Iced Coffee — I ordered this since I really needed a caffeine pick me up, but I wasn’t really happy with the taste as it was way too sweet for me. I couldn’t finish the whole iced coffee and ended up going to Starbucks after lunch for a real iced coffee. My friend ordered a Massaman curry with chicken dish with a taro spring roll as an appetizer. His order was correct, but mine on the other hand took a while. The servers brought out one entrée that had beef, but it was a beef rice and it was completely wrong, so I had to wait a while. The green salad with peanut dressing was delicious! The peanut dressing was had a certain butteryness and nuttiness to it that I liked. The Taro spring rolls were crunchy and delicious! For entrée, I ordered the Pad See Euw with beef and they finally got it right on the second or third shot(I forgot) and it was just mediocre. I’ve definitely had better and the portion size seemed a little small. I think I would come back here but just for lunch, but the fact that it was so early in the day and it wasn’t busy at Klong when my friend and I went and they messed up my entrée twice or three times is kind of a turn off. Hopefully next time they will get the orders straight.

Ambiance: 5 Food:5 Service:5 I love Klong!!! not a bad thing to say about this place. HAPPYHOUR is POPPIN!!! All I remember is its over at 10pm. We arrived at 945pm and they allowed us to order as many drinks as we wanted in one sitting just so we could get as much outta happy hour due to us arriving when it was almost over. I had so much food. I’ve been a few times before and forgot to write a review. It’s a great dining experience for friends or dates. Not really for kids. Wait staff was friendly and checked in on us often. It’ll always be my number one spot. Also its located on marks place so there is tons of karaōke bars and tattoo and piercing spots on the same area.

This was our second spot on Boxing Day, we went for the all day happy hour specials! We ordered a pitcher of Lychee Mojito, and some edamame. I loved the décor, it was like an old Thai temple, with Buddhist statues, jars and figurines lining the walls. This is a basement restaurant as well, so there’s a pretty intimate vibe. The food looked pretty good, and the pitcher that’s $ 30 is 3 drinks per person, good enough to get an evening in the city going. Would come back for the food and more drink!

I come here a lot because the lunch special is so good — one soup or salad, appetizer and entrée all for 8.95! I’m a huge fan of Thai peanut sauce, so I would definitely recommend the salad and the Rama peanut sauce dish. The soup feels really oily anyway. For appetizers, I always order the crab rangoon. It’s my favorite Thai app and it never disappoints. I think the sauce and filling here is exceptionally good. Overall, this is one of my favorite lunch joints on st marks. The deal is great and I’ll probably be back for dinner someday.

Pretty cute place with decent Thai food. Located in the throngs of busy St. Marks, this place makes a nice all-occasion spot. The décor is hip and trendy, although a little strange. What’s up with that crooked metal archway thing? I ordered the Kee Mao noodles, which are flat fried noodles with basil, onions, peppers, egg, and tomato in a spicy sauce. They were definitely solid and hit the spot. I should have asked for them spicy though. Medium is good but a little bland and an extra kick would have done the trick. Also huge portions, so be prepared to take home leftovers. Service was pretty good and they make a good lychee mojito. Prices are also pretty reasonable. Also, we got seated at the front next to the window. While we were eating, a homeless guy came over and started pounding on the glass. Other than that, it makes for a good casual dinner spot.

With ten hangry people waiting 30 minutes past our reservation time to sit down, you start to get worried that your experience may be subpar. You start ordering your food only to realize half the people are drinking, and no one can decide on appetizers and you start wondering how long it will be before you finally get some grub in your tum. Lucky enough the apps roll out quickly and there is plenty to be shared with everyone who wants some. The entrée sizes are well proportioned and will have you bringing a doggy bag home. For a group as large as ours, I was pleasantly surprised to see we only spent $ 25 each, including drinks!

AMAZING! I love this restaurant so much. It became my best friends birthday tradition every year to go to dinner here! Thai iced tea is great and the serving portions are pretty filling! I would definitely recommend the pad Thai with whichever meat/vegetable you like it with, and the crispy calamari! If you’re ever in the St. Marks area definitely check it out!

Impressed with Klong’s happy hour specials. Came here with 4 others during their happy hour(which goes on for basically all of the afternoon into the night from M through F). We grabbed a pitcher of mojito for $ 25, and the pitcher was easily large enough for around 10 – 12 drinks. Definitely worth it if you can finish it. I also got a lychee mimosa which was fruity and delicious(I couldn’t taste any alcohol in it, probably because it was a mimosa, but I thought it was particularly good in that aspect). We tried a few appetizers, and some were better than other. The coconut calamari was the perfect crispy texture on the outside, which chewy squid on the inside. We also got the fish cakes which were okay but nothing special. Come for the drink specials that go on for basically forever. The service is pretty good, and this place was poppin’ while we were here!

Why did it take me so long to find this place? Because its snuggled on St. Marks St between all these other bomb places. I loved that once you get inside, its clean and they have cool artwork. Besides that, the food is delicious, affordable, and they actually give pretty big portions. Bigger than at most Thai restaurants. I’ve lived in Bangkok and the food here is authentic thai food. Pad see ew, pad thai, thai boat noodles, red curry, green curry — all good. We tried one of the fish dishes on the«chef’s special» list and it was ah-mazing. My only complaint was that is was suuuuuper dark in there! Even with the candle on the table, we had to whip out our phones to read the menu. This space is actually quite spacious and you don’t feel like you have to cram next to your neighbor and hear their entire conversation. Great spot for an affordable and delicious meal!

I’ve walked past this place numerous times when I’m in the St. Marks area but never really bothered to give it a try. Today, I decided to grab dinner with a couple of friends and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Ambience, vibe, service and food were all on point. The restaurant was a tad bit dark but in a nice way. There were decorations around the venue and there was even a mini bar by the entrance. Our servers kept refilling our water and was patient when we were sticking around even after we finished our dishes. My friends had the chicken and pork pad see euws, with drinks which were delicious. While I ordered the Kee Moa noodles with salmon. I also went with the tips given from other Unilocalers and went ahead and ordered the grilled squid/octopus which were superb. We all left completely full and satisfied with out dishes. Would I come back? Definitely!

This review is for happy hour(which is practically the whole day) On weekdays it’s all day til 10 and weekends it’s til 8pm — still impressive. I went with two friends on a Saturday at around 5pm and stayed for about two hours. We weren’t all that hungry so we ordered some small plates. The khoa pod tod was a generous serving of corn fritters. It’s not your typical corn fritter — the batter is saucy and has a slight Asian chili kick(but still more sweet than spicy). It’s cheap and a great side with the drinks. We ordered the spare ribs which were so so juicy and saucy but the portion was somewhat small compared to the khoa pod tod. We also had the Thai salad — nothing particularly special, just a typical lettuce salad with a solid peanut sauce. And we also tried the Larb chicken salad. It was spicier than expected but not too hot. It’s kind of acidic, so a good mix with the other saucy, sweet dishes but I’m not sure I’d get it again. We ordered nom mon for dessert — coconut ice cream and condensed milk with toast. It’s exactly what it sounds like. But the coconut ice cream is pleasantly creamy(not sorbet-like), although the toast is just a plain white slice of bread that’s toasted and cut into four triangles. But it was pretty good — only $ 6.50 too. As for drinks — a basic mojito, wines, flavored mimosas, basic margarita were all $ 3 each. Probably one of the best happy hour deals you’ll find in the city. Flavored margaritas are $ 5 each — only tried the blueberry and I really didn’t like it. The mimosas are all great — the pomegranate was my least favorite, and the passionfruit was the best in my opinion. The mojito is stronger than I expected(especially for $ 3) but it’s still pretty good. There’s flavored ones but not for happy hour. I’ll try them next time. The wines seemed slightly watered down, but my friends didn’t mind(we only tried Riesling). None of us are fans of beer, so I can’t speak for that. For 12 drinks and four plates and dessert — our total came out to $ 75 — not including tip. What a great deal. Definitely will be back for happy hour again.

First off, like every other Unilocaler has been raving about, the 3 $ Happy Hour Mojito! How can that not attract people to at least give this restaurant a try? I cant even get coffee for 3 $ in certain shops in nyc. You might be a little skeptical the happy hour drinks too since it is so cheap, but it is good! Never watered down, infused with the perfect balance of sweet and mint, and it has a good amount of alcohol. Okay besides the delicious drink. The food here is just as good. Nicole L. and I ordered the coconut calamari as an appetizer. We both didn’t taste any coconut flavor in the dish and for personally it was too soft. To me, fried calamari should have a crispy bite to it, but Klong’s was missing that crisp. The calamari itself was chewy and fresh! It came with this sauce in a small dish, I wish the dish was larger because it was enough for only a couple calamari, the rest of the calamari we ate sauceless. After the appetizer, our entrée came. We got the Pork Pad See Ew. I always go with that dish, in love with the chewy sweet taste from it! The service is super attentive too. We met an unexpected friend, the servers were super understanding with welcoming our friend to sit in a two seat table area. Love the food, atmosphere, and service here, def my go-to thai place in nyc!

I love Thai and generally this place always hits the spot. I say generally because you have to watch out what you get on the menu. I’ve been here a total of 3 times so far so I will give you my two cents. Let me break this down for you. Decent happy hour. Their $ 3 mojitos are to die for. They are not too weak not too strong and are delicious. I hear they are smaller during happy hour than when you pay regular price, but it’s still a good deal. I would recommend. They don’t card, they practically throw the drinks at you. But don’t underage drink, das bad. I believe happy hour runs currently from 5pm-8pm? Foods I would recommend are their Green Curry Puff($ 6.50) appetizers. Yes it is small but my it is tasty. It comes with 2 curry puff balls cut in half with a sweet and sour sauce and it’s really good. It reminds me of a thai style samosa. The chicken spicy basil noodles(kee mao)($ 11) are really good too, large portion. Chicken Huan Hin Fried Rice($ 11) is really good as well, but one word of advice is that their rice dishes run a bit small in my opinion. Foods to avoid. Their pad thai is tasty but it is salty so be careful. AVOIDTHEIRCURRY. I am a fan of thai curry, but here it is so frekin sweet! They use way too much coconut milk and kills the savory flavor that the dish should be in my opinion. The good food here is on point though and the ambiance is nice. Happy hour makes me happy. And prices are great. Love this place. Will be back.

The recipe for a romantic night out on the town starts with dinner & drinks, and on my checklist are the following: 1. Intimate, 2. Modern décor, 3. Dim lighting and, 4. Delicious libations. Why thank you Klong! Let me re-iterate, the cocktails here are top notch. I’m particularly fond of the signature cocktail, «The Klong» a tea infused concoction mixed with four different types of alcohol. It is every bit of ah-mazing, and strong that you’ll likely grow chest hair. In fact I noticed a little stubble the next day(just kidding). The sriracha margarita was sinfully delicious, not as spicy as you would imagine but perfectly balanced. These are the top two of my favorite cocktails at this restaurant(which presupposes that I’ve had most of the other signature drinks, a fact that I may or may not admit to). I enjoyed most of my meals here. When I used to eat meat, the only thing on the menu that I’ve tried and was not head over heels about was the calamari(too greasy imo). That being said, it’s great that they have plenty of vegan, and vegetarian options. And if you need the extra protein or craving some faux meat, you can order your entrée with tofu, or mock dock. I highly recommend the pad roasted cashew nut with mock duck! As per the staff, I’ve been here for many years and have in fact noticed the improvement in service. I’ve taken my friends and my so here who gave me positive feedback on their meals. I’m very pleased to have re-discovered Klong, and will be back sooner than later. Especially with the excellent happy hour deals, what more can you ask for? Happy Eats!
