Gorgeous bar to stop for a drink if you’re in midtown. Drinks are very expensive, but it’s worthwhile to see the place. Would be a great place to start and evening in the area.

The bar is unimpressive for the price point. They turned a hallway into a bar so it’s not that comfortable, quiet, or spacious. Which is fine but for the cost. $ 75 for three well cocktails that were just okay. Captive audience I assume.

Located inside the hotel, Knave admittedly has an incredibly unique interior. Entering its nook is like setting foot inside some Gothic cathedral. But I’m uneasy about overly quiet spaces, and this one was practically as silent as a tomb. For such high prices, the coffee options were extremely limited. And the barista certainly turned his nose up at me when I asked for vanilla in my latte. It’s definitely the«we don’t wish to serve artificial sweeteners of any kind — how dare you» kind of vibe. If the caffeine choices are slim, then call the food items severely slim. I got stuck with a dry, possibly day-old(?) chocolate croissant, but ended up stealing bites of my mom’s blueberry muffin: moist, with an unexpectedly pleasant tang. Maybe it’d be different if Knave was the place around for miles, but NYC is practically a breeding ground for coffee spots. Overall, probably not worth your time and $$.

As a platinum SPG Member I contacted the SPG Platinum concierge to reserve a table which I’ve don’t multiple times before. The f&b manager«Celine» offered to hold us a table if we came at 6(30 minutes before our intended time) which we did and Celine failed to let anyone working after she abandoned ship know this, yet held 3 of your tables for a party of «30» that as we saw and was confirmed by the Knave staff never materialized. So clearly you’re not very business savvy. I have been a repeat guest of Knave(and Normas) and Mister Redlinger used to reserve tables for us at Knave. I don’t expect to be treated as worse just because you have staff has turned over. I spent over $ 400 tonight. As I always do. You have a reputation for treating SPG’s best customers terribly(see Unilocal, tripadvisor, flyer talk), a fact which you proved to be true tonight. Thank goodness our waitress Debbie was a diamond in the rough and was very pleasant because your front desk and F&B staff are terrible and shouldn’t be allowed within 100 yards of a customer. Really disappointing treatment of a loyal repeat customer, Platinum SPG member, lifetime Gold member. You’ve really done yourself a disservice. It won’t be forgotten and the 5 affluent tastemakers we were with aren’t shy about sharing their opinions. Thanks for the awful service. FYI beware of any reviews on social platforms of Le Parker Meriden or their restaurants or bars; the GM posts glowing five star reviews to boost her numbers. How unethical!!’

Enjoyed this quaint spot for a quick drink before heading down to the dry bar. The service was a bit slow but other than that it was a nice place to escape from the busyness of the city.

After years of passing through the Knave I did not know until the NYTs article entitled«Unwelcome Mat Is Out at Some of New York’s Privately Owned Public Spaces» dated Sept. 7, 2015 that the Knave is apparently part of a «privately owned PUBLICSPACE.» «Le» Parker Meridien sure does a good job of not advertising that fact to the public. See the post before mine where the reviewer says«the Knave is located in a swanky hotel»? No, it is not. It’s located in a public space. The swanky hotel’s lobby is located in a public space. Get it. PS, It means you don’t have to buy food at the Knave to sit there in case that wasn’t clear.

I grabbed a quick drink with a girl friend while staying here on a work trip. Lots of teams attending the US Open were here but regardless, the staff were friendly, quick and the atmosphere of the bar is really lovely with deep velvet couches, a nice wine selection and they bring delicious complimentary bites — quick fried stuffed olives, smoked mixed nuts and other bites. It was a very relaxed place where everyone was just hanging out having casual drinks with no rush by the staff. Note – large wine pours :). I would gladly go back for drinks if I stay at the hotel again.

Yes, $ 20 drinks here. As a tourist I can take one and absorb the atmosphere. 50 foot high designed ceilings, huge red Gothic chandeliers weigh down above you and tall red curtains are restrained behind you. It’s Eyes Wide Shut until casually dressed hotel guests walk through. Dark, sultry and romantic, the atmosphere is great if you’re feeling it and can forget the price.

Yeah it’s a $ 14 beer but it balances out the burger bar. It could use a little more people, it’s a bit on the quiet side, but the people working there are great. And the fried olives — well that’s enough reason to pop in by itself. We had a nice time here during our stay at the hotel for Father’s Day weekend.

Came here because of other Unilocal reviews and close to the Essex House where we were staying. The coffee bar is very swanky with a long hall from the entrance to the other end where the hotel reception is. The barista was friendly and knew a lot about coffee. While the tea and coffee were more expensive than other traditional coffee houses($ 8 each for coffee or tea) the quality was so much better. Knave is located in an upscale hotel. If you enjoy a wonderfully brewed latte this is the place to be.

Knave is a classy, fancy coffee shop. I really enjoyed my time here. They serve a wide array of drinks — alcohol, coffee, tea. Free internet is available which is always a plus. Drinks are expensive, but if you’re looking for a place that’s unique, laid back, beautiful, not extremely busy then this is a wonderful place. Noise level was not loud at all. Great jazz music playing in the background. I spent about 3 hours here drinking some tea and getting work done on my computer. I can certainly see myself coming back here :)

This place is so over priced and the service is awful, the management kept moving our parties seating arrangement. Plus the actually informed my party that they were not allowed to bring their burgers from the place across the hall. Never ever go to this lounge it’s awful!!!

This bar has the most awesome guests. My friend and I came here on New Year’s Eve. All the seats had been taken. We stood near a table where an elegant senior couple was just signing the check. They noticed us and offered us their seats when suddenly a rather arrogant gentleman tried to steal these exact seats away claiming to be on some kind of list. Being the polite people that we are we suggested consulting the waitress but Mr. Big Shot wouldn’t have any of this. We were already accepting our defeat but the awesome lady who had offered us the seat insisted that the table was ours or otherwise she would sit back down for the whole night. In the meantime her equally awesome husband winked at us to «Just sit down! Just sit down before anyone can say anything!» And so we did while our contender had no other choice but to stare at us in contempt while he had to wait for another table. So we would like to express our gratefulness to that awesome couple for saving our New Year’s Eve and we would also love to buy them a drink and listen to their awesome life stories of which we’re certain they must have many!

This is an esthetically sexy lounge. Despite the insanely high price of their beverages, I love the place. I feel transported. The red, gothic chandeliers hung from the massively high ceilings, marble walls decorated with blood red curtains. It feels almost as if you’re in a renaissance era space. In the early evening, it’s dark and romantic. Although it’s a large space and accommodate a large number of people, it still feels intimate. The service is professional, almost European. The wine list is not extensive and you don’t necessarily get what you pay for, but it’s a great spot to sit yourself down if you need to get away from the midtown hustle. If you’re headed to Drybar to get your hair blown(which is in the Le Meridien)…it’s a great spot to stop in before or after your«blown».

This place is pretty decent. I’ve been coming here for a few months with friends to grab coffee and catch up. The atmosphere here is delightful, the staff is nice nothing extraordinary about them. It can get pretty crowded here depending on when and what time you go, and obviously the staff will seem less interested, and perhaps even rude in giving you an above average service when they are overwhelmed with mass amounts of people. It’s New York people are are rude… You’re probably rude too so get used to it. The prices for drinks are high but again it’s New York, and you should already be mentally prepared to splurge on drinks when you’re going out. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because I’ve been to other places I like more.

A great place to sit, read and grab a cappuccino. Makes for great people watching and lounging. It can get busy and crowded which makes navigating its narrow hallway location challenging, but overall a nice stop along the journey.

Came in here twice. **1st Time** Sis, cousin and me went here for a night cap after all our arrival in the city. It was their last call but thankfully they allowed us to stay. I ordered the«Big Apple Sidecar» and man, that drink was NOJOKE. First sip, took me out of my element. Definitely made me sleep that night! **2nd Time** Friend and I came here to get coffee, to refuel for the pending MET museum. That was definitely a good call since their soy mocha was well worth it! It was creamy, well made, and I was a fan! Overall… friendly service both in the evening and in the afternoon. Definitely would recommend for both occasions.
