Stay away as far as possible !! I bought a groupon for this salon, and thought it was fishy that no one else has purchased on yet. Which should be a red flag. Omg the most horrible experience in my life. I could barely get through an appointment with the manager, completely rude. When I did make an appointment, because of traffic I was 10 mins late just so I was turned around and told«we need to run a business here honey», «have the decency to call next time». Of course, I had to make an account to warn people about this place and quickly got my money back from groupon.

STAYAWAY — The salon is chic, clean, and conveniently located. However, I had an apppointment with Robert. I asked for a full head foil and bring my blonde down to a bit darker to look more natural. He did NOT do a full but instead a half. His foils were awful and falling down my head so I left with ROOTS. The blonde was lighter than I walked in with which was the exact opposite of what I asked. When I called to try and see if I could come in and have him fix it, he told me he had done a full and that was it. I ended up[ having to go to another hairdresser and spending more money to get it all fixed. So I was charged an outrageously high price for a full but only recieved a BAD half head foil that he wouldn’t fix. NOTWORTHYOURTIMEORMONEY

C’est si bon. Morgan is a master of working with difficult hair, and an excellent colorist. I’ve been around enough Upscale NYC salons to tell you that you will get the 5 star results and leave feeling like you’ve just made a best friend! It’s not just the stylists’ work, it’s also the honest, real friendiness you walk away remembering. I take my sister to see Morgan whenever I can get her in town and seriously(!) she almost shed’s a tear knowing he’s not just around the corner from where she lives. Much profanity comes out of her mouth about all the half baked stylists she has tried … When it comes to Morgan she says He’s F — — Amazing, no one else works with my thick head of hair the way he does!

Last Saturday, our city was graced with a light dusting of snow. This is reason enough for trains to get all wacked, and maybe people too. Someone was hit by the L train on 3rd ave(walking the tunnels??) and the L was down all morning. Suffice it to say, I had to fight tooth and nail to get a cab just to get to my appointment at L’atelier. The cab driver took about 6 people in a van and informed everyone she was only going to 14th street(that’s a different review). I got into Union Square 10 minutes past my apppointed time and was told I was too late, that other clients had taken my place. REALLY? After 10 minutes??? Who books appts every 10 minutes? I understand timeliness is necessary, but if I fight snow and downed trains and get in a cab to cross a bridge to get to your salon and then you give my appt time to the client who lives around the corner, does that mean you give precedence to whoever is geographically closer? You can’t you do something for me? Nothing? reschedule? I think not. I won’t be going back. There’s too many other great salons in NYC. Be up on your game.

I have been going to Morgan for years. Everytime I go and come back my fiancé says my hair looks better than the last time. And that’s a high compliment considering he barely knows the difference between a skirt and a dress :) Absolutely adore everything about L’Atelier, 4 years later and even if I moved uptown I would make the trip.

I LOVEMORGAN! I followed him from Robert Kree. The salon is intimate, friendly and clean. Morgan really listens to you but he also advises you. He told me I needed to grow my bangs out because they made me look too young and he was right! I always get so many complements on my hair. He never cuts too much or too little. I love his honesty but it is in a really nice way.

I used to go to this salon when Anna was still there and I absolutely loved her. Now that she has left, I am seeing Morgan for my color and cut and he is also very good. Plus the staff and the whole atmosphere in the salon is amazing(very low stress). BUT remember that you can NOT tip on credit cards, you can only tip with cash.

Definitely a friendly place. Very pleasant environment. However, I did not have a good experience. I went there to dye my hair and even brought a picture of the shade I wanted(I had it in the past). The color I ended up with was nowhere even close to the picture. The colorist tried to correct his mistake and re-dye my hair, but it did not make much noticeable difference. After spending almost $ 150 for hair coloring services, I now have a color I cannot stand. Either it simply was my very unlucky day, or I would recommend going somewhere else for

I love this place. No one has ever cut my hair like David Smith. David also does great color. A very lovely salon in the middle of Greenwich Village. They make you feel right at home. They also sell professional L’Oreal products. Everyone is polite and pleasant and it is a wonderful salon.

This salon has it all! The most wonderful staff, really pleasant environment, personal attention and most importantly, fantastic cut and color. Margarita, one of the assistants, is exceptional and so kind, Paul, one of the owners, helps to keep the place running smoothly, and Morgan, the other owner and stylist has an absolute gift when it comes to hair. Mine is super thin and stringy and he always makes me look like a million bucks!

Very cute, chic, yet friendly hair salon. Got my hair cut over the weekend by co-owner Morgan, who was French, very sweet, and listened to everything I had to say about my current anti-layer policy. Different people washed my hair AND blew it out, so tipping was kinda dicey. Also a bit pricey(for me, a bargain haircut person) at $ 90. But I do like the way my hair(straight Asian hair) turned out a lot.
