I was surprised to see Lattanzi only has 3.5 stars. This restaurant is top notch in atmosphere, food quality, service and price(comparable to other similar restaurants… definitely not inexpensive). I’ve made several visits here over the years and it’s definitely one of my go-tos when I’m visiting NYC, even if it’s just some appetizers and a glass of wine.

To be honest, I haven’t eaten at Lattanzi’s in years. What was I thinking? Hosted a party for 20 people and it was awesome. Ed could NOT have been more accomodating and the staff and service were excellent. Suggestions on target, venue perfect, service impeccable and the food… with a very difficult crown spanning ages and palate preferences, Lattanzi hit everything right on the mark. Calamari, Fried Artichoke, Mozzarella and tomato — all perfect appetizers. The main courses were terrific — tasty, good proportions and delicious — Veal Francaise, Chicken Parm, the salmon, Pollo Lattanzi — all outstanding. Terrific place and I wont stay away this long anymore…

A lovely restaurant. Service was a little slow, but we were in no rush. The food was excellent. We had the fried artichokes to start and they were delicious. My branzino was cooked to perfection. The only complaint I would have is that they advertise that they have available an Ebraico-Italian menu. What they don’t tell you on their website is that it’s only available after 8pm because they have to redo the kitchen. They need to make that clear. Otherwise, I loved it and would definitely return again.

This was a near-perfect experience! After a long day in the city, we were tired and hungry. We were treated very well. The drinks arrived quickly, our water glasses were never empty and dirty plates were cleared immediately. The food was incredible as well. My lamb chops were perfection! And I felt the price was reasonable.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in NYC. I could have died happy with the fresh mozzarella and Shrimp scampi alone, but the napoleon for dessert added the perfect«I’ve died and gone to Heaven» finale! Also, very friendly and helpful staff

Another Diamond in NYC. We stumbled into Lattanzi on a cold Fri evening after a day of shopping. Décor not my usual preference, but something drew me in. It looked cozy & warm… I took a chance. To our surprise, a meal like my Grandmother used to make. The smells & flavors brought me back to a time gone by! Artichoke Appetizer grilled to perfection. Soft and so very very tasty! Arugula and Pear salad with huge shavings of Parmesan. I added balsamic vinegar in lieu of their dressing… Multi Bene! My husband enjoyed chicken Pizzaiola. Tender thin grilled pieces of chicken with layers of red peppers… So yummy I had linguini with white clam sauce. Something I never order out! It tasted like my own. Really delicious! All fresh ingredients. A slice of Ricotta Cheesecake topped with fresh blueberries and confectioners sugar. Just like Grandma’s. Host, Wait Staff all so friendly and warm. It felt like home. We will be back. Thank you Guys, it was a really great evening!

We’ve been going to Latannzi since it was a small restaurant — although much bigger it is still outstanding in every way

I came here on a Saturday evening and I was welcomed most formally, in that fancy schmancy kinda way. I was lucky to snag the only outdoor table in the front. A lady asked how we got that table and I told her I had put in a special request… Ha! lies I tell! Inside the restaurant was dimly lit, very warm and cozy with white table cloth representing stature. The staff was very polite and formal but since I sat outside, I managed to escape all that stuffiness. The food was just ok, and the portions are incredible small, even for a gal like me. Let’s say I was still a bit hungry after I was done. If you have friends or family coming from out of town and you want to razzle dazzle them, then this is a good choice but if you’re looking for a good harty meal, you better go some place else.

Amazing! Loved this restaurant and so glad we dined here when on vacation. My Aunt had pasta and I had the salmon. Loved everything! Cozy atmosphere and the brick walls, dimmed lighting all made for great ambience. Excellent service and great quality food! Will return when in town.

Was excited to try this place for their«roman-jewish» spin on Italian food. Only saw one dish on the menu, artichoke app, and it wasn’t available that evening. Food was a mix of moderate to good. Service was okay not exceptional. Definitely, convenient for theatre district goers just think the price wasn’t right for the food they are putting out.

Pleasant atmosphere, quick service. Great selection of menu choices and the portions were just right in size without being too big. All the food was very tasty and we devoured it all! The soft shelled crab special was the only let down as the sauce overwhelmed the crab. I think the capers were the culprit. Dessert menu looked very tempting but we were too full to try!

Loved the meal and experience here. Happy to have gluten free options. Chicken marinara penne was amazing, the sauce was flavorful and the perfect consistency. Enjoyed wine and dessert as well. Thumbs up.

We are here before seeing a play. I would say most people eating here were in the same boat so the dining experience wasn’t very leisurely or relaxed. But Lattanzi is super old school feeling and the food was delicious. It’s not crazy expensive but the food is at a higher end price point than many of the other restaurants in the area catering to the theater crowd. I like that the restaurant is broken into multiple seating areas so even though it is quite large, you get a more intimate dining experience. I got the octopus and shrimp salad and the brazino. Both dishes were very good! The only real downside was we also didn’t see our server a lot and there is only one small restroom all the way in the basement.

Friends of ours who live in the city recommend this wonderful restaurant. This is an excellent find! We stared with their famous sautéed artichoke hearts and caprese salad to share. I really wish my battery of my phone hadn’t dies because I would have loved to take pictures of all the delicious food. Three of us had the special soft shell crabs which was accompanied by a roasted corn tomato basil side. Really enjoyed this restaurant and will return the next time we are in the city.

One of my «go to» anytime restaurants. The food is excellent starting with their signature home made Matzo drizzled with garlic infused olive oil. A great wine selection. Great service. One of my top places in NYC

Solid 4 star restaurant. We sat in the front room, which was a bit brighter than we had hoped. Although there were tall candles at each table, it was too right to really enjoy the ambiance. The back room looked much dimmer and more romantic. Meals were delicious though. The chicken Picatta and homemade rolled pasta were equally great. Neither was lacking in flavor. Prices weren’t too bad either… Plus you can get half orders of every pasta dish for just $ 14. My type of place!

Many restaurants struggle with large parties. And, in some ways Lattanzi did, as we were seated by 6 and did not see the first course until 730. That said, the cooking was great. The first two courses(salad and pasta) each had a sampling of some favorites, which was a nice touch and allowed everyone to try a bit of everything without having to go family style. I had the filet for dinner, which I was surprised was cooked perfectly to the temperature I ordered. Dessert was another sampling. So, while they struggled with the timing, the food was great. I’d definitely recommend them for a large group, and just make sure you enjoy some wine while you wait for the food service to get started.

When the SO suggested this joint, I stifled my robotic impulse to nullify her research with my own Unilocal formulas, and relented. I’m glad I did, because Lattanzi is a solid 4-to-5 star Italian restaurant. We walked in from the deluge of that crazy day a few nights ago. It was like walking into an 80s Woody Allen movie. All the older patrons looking dapper in evening theater wear(American don’t dress up much, and I’m guilty as well). We walked past the narrow but warm and bright front dining room into the back area, where we watched the rain drops beat against a wonderfully translucent ceiling: all the comfort and safety of indoors and nature’s wrath on gallery display. Romance! When I saw the Jewish-style artichoke appetizer(sauteed with garlic and olive), I was sold. It was, how do you say? Ah, yes, bellissimo! And the linguine with clams was outstanding(perhaps a little too deep in butter, but I forgive, I forgive). We ended the evening by splitting the absolutely amazing ricotta cheesecake. Woah – I am not a dessert fiend, but this was likely the best cheesecake I’ve ever had: moist but a little chewy, duster with sugar. It ain’t the out-of-the-box cold glazed cheesecake some places serve! All in all, an excellent choice for pre– or post-theater dining.
