Alas, we’ve used the power of cohesion, community and terrible Unilocal reviews to run this place out of town. See ya never, Lobster Smack, you disgraceful and distasteful food establishment.

Shockingly small amounts of lobster. This place should be out of business in weeks. It is a total rip off. Wow!

It’s really obvious when a place as bad as this gets good reviews, that people are lying to promote this crap. One woman to run the place. Barely any discernible lobster in their $ 10 lobster roll, served on a bun that would make McDonald’s cringe. A choice of mayonnaise spreads that were all but invisible and certainly tasteless, to boot. We ordered a chicken quesadilla as well and it was similarly bland and without merit. Forget about a hint of Mexican anything. I gave it one star because the best thing about the meal was leaving the restaurant. At least they didn’t try to keep us prisoners. Prisoners probably eat better… Certainly as well! Feh! Oh yeah, did I mention the place was empty, too? Don’t waste your time or your money. There are few things I regret in life, but eating here is one of them.

Try to stay away if you care about what you put in your mouth. Now I’m judging this place like a lobster roll snob, which I am. But the«lobster roll» was really a small small burger with some lobster meat in the middle. It was bland, it was small, it was nasty. We also had the«clam chowder», I put it in quotes because personally I don’t think it should be called clam chowder. It was very watery and tasteless. Definitely won’t be back.

Horrible. 3 sizes of lobster roll. Regular, Large, X-Large. I got the extra large. Now I’m used to lobster rolls having very little meat in them, thats pretty common – but this takes that to the extreme. There were 2 small pieces of meat, 2 thin slices of cucumber, squished into a small tortilla, served flat, wrapped in foil. First off, if you get 2 small pieces of meat with the X-large…1 with the large? No lobster for the regular? Secondly, I assume a lobster roll would be on a ROLL. I actually asked the waitress/server if they messed up my order because I could not believe THAT was it. AVOIDATALLCOSTS.

This place has gotten a lot of smack talk(no pun intended), but it’s really not that terrible if you put it in perspective with regards to pricing, but I guess it’s not exactly the best place either. I had the lobster sandwich which was pretty decent. The mayo it came with was decently tasty, and the lobster pieces were fresh. I would’ve liked more lobster pieces inside but you get what you pay for. If you’re look for a roll loaded with lobster for $ 15, this place isn’t for you. The inside does look pretty dingy though and they probably need an interior design change… it just looks so sterile — it would look a lot better if the place were smaller and had more of a wooden boat type of feel…

I just walked out and I couldn’t write this review fast enough! It’s not good at all! I was seriously craving a lobster role and having passed this place several times I was excited to try it. I should’ve read these reviews 1st! When I walked in the place was completely empty. The gentleman behind the counter seemed as if he didn’t want to be there and wasn’t very helpful when I asked what’s the difference in sizes of the lobster roles and what sauce he suggests. He then got up to prepare my food(he was cashier and cook… Ewe) and as soon as I saw him pick up a hamburger bun I knew it was a bad idea. I received my roll and was so disgusted I had just spent $ 18!!! The hamburger bun was toasted lightly and there were 3 large chunks of COLD lobster on it with lettuce, tomato, pickle and«smack» sauce. It was awful! I’ve had a true buttered lobster roll at some of the best places in Boston and there are no words for this mess. Don’t go! Please! They need an intervention from the restaurant impossible guy or to just close down. The latter is probably best.

I should have known better considering no one, NOONE, was inside. Ordered the crab cake. Imitation crab meat in a crab cake is a absolute fail. I watched the Simpson’s, grabbed a water and choked it down with gobs of smack sauce. Staff is friendly. Never again.

Disaster. Spent over $ 20 for a few chunks of bad lobster on a hamburger bun, and a reheated clam chowder. Uncomfortably warm in the small(noticeably empty) dining room. The most uncomfortable bench Ive ever sat on, AND she couldn’t even provide a receipt. GROSS food. HORRIBLY expensive. RIDICULOUSLY uncomfortable. Oh, and I was rushed out at 10PM on a Friday, her closing time. Oh, I didn’t mention the entire place is ran by one woman? Deliveries and all. Now THAT’S service. :/

I don’t want to trash this place with a 1-star rating. I actually didn’t mind the air-conditioning and the television on a hot day, but the dining left a lot to be desired. I came here with two co-workers, each of us ready to order a combo: Me: Ordered BBQ sandwich w/chips, soda and a Russian ice cream cone. The chicken was apparently pre-cooked and microwaved before being put on the sandwich. The sandwich fell apart while eating it. Herr’s chips, Cherry Coke and Ice Cream did not disappoint. Co-Worker #1: Ordered a lobster roll, chips and a drink. Lobster roll had total of three negligible chunks of lobster on it, doused in mayo and lettuce. He went out and got a slice of pizza after eating what he ordered. Co-Worker #2: Ordered a lobster roll combo only to find out that they ran out of fries(and they wouldn’t be getting any), he had a choice of potato salad or cole slaw(but they didn’t have potato salad) and the chips depicted in the photo of the meal are actually not included in the meal. Same issue with barely any lobster in the sandwich. Just say no, people. While watching the food be prepared, I had to look and check their Dept of Health Rating which was an «A», somehow. The lone employee clearly needed help, given all of the sides and salads out of stock. We won’t be back there again.

I got the shrimp and corn chowder. It was very good. A little pricey but delicious and filling.

Beware! My colleague and I came here for lunch, both ordered a lobster roll, and both got sick. Let’s just say I spent the day of my 30th birthday party with my head in the toilet. True story. I’m sure a one-off situation but the lobster rolls weren’t even good… like at all! Sorry Lobster Smack!

I stumbled on this place as I was venturing with a friend during Macaron Day(woo free macarons!) We immediately saw their lobster roll, soup, & drink or chips deal for 12 bucks and decided to give it a try. While it was a pretty good deal, I was a little disappointed in the size of the lobster roll. It could be because I went to Maine last year and had the freshest, most filling lobster roll I’ve ever had in my life. However, there was less meat than bread, not to mention the bread wasn’t very large to begin with. I actually enjoyed the lobster bisque soup more than the main feature. At that price point, I suppose you can’t expect the most bountiful of lobstah rolls, but I’m calling em how I see em. And I didn’t see very much.

For a few extra bucks you could have an excellent seafood meal at the Mermaid Inn a few blocks away. This was nothing more than a tasteless overpriced snack.

This place is not worth a visit. The food is not very tasty. You get what you pay for. It’s cheap, bland tasting food. The concept of fast food lobster is promising, but the delivery is a FAIL. Also, this place is shady, Both my friend and I paid separately via credit card, and found days later upon checking our credit card recent activity that we were charged an extra $ 3 and $ 4 dollars each. Clearly, this fast food joint added their own unauthorized gratuity. I have heard of this dishonest practice happening online. Be careful when signing the credit card receipt to enter the total amount. If you leave it blank, unscrupulous cashiers/waiters can enter their own gratuity.

This is a really interesting place. Ostensibly run by a Russian family, LS’ appearance was interestingly, and perhaps just coincidentally timed to the shuttering of Dacha just around the corner on Laguardia. My brother tipped me off that there’s a place selling $ 10 lobster rolls and«uha»(Russian fish soup seldom seen in this area code). Yesterday I finally stopped by to try the very attractively priced lobster roll. The lobstah is tasty sandwiched between two halves of French toast. The drawback? It’s sandwiched into a tiny slice of French toast, good enough for 2 – 4 bites. So don’t come here too hungry unless you’re going to order two or more rolls, at which point the value really starts to suffer. The friendly guy behind the counter let us try some samples of their bisque, which was pretty good, while a matronly older woman, who might have been plucked from the stalls of M&I International on Brighton Beach, was whisking something – perhaps the sauce – in a bowl with brio and proficiency. I’m not sure if this place will survive, but I kind of hope it does. It’s certainly different.

I walked in and started messing with the counter folks: OMG, I’m so hungry, Lobster smack me! And, fill my belly, I wanna get lobster smacked and slapped! We had a pretty good laugh, there was no one in the store and I was talking, looking at the menu and watching them smack lobster around. For those of you who have never been smacked, this place just opened and its a great spot for lunch. I ordered their Homemade Lobster Bisque and I asked the counter person what her favorite thing on the menu, she said the Home Made Lobster Quesadilla, hands down. I ordered both of them and grabbed a soda out of the fridge, just like home. Except I had to pay. Their Homemade Lobster Bisque, the first thing I noticed was a big hunka chunka lobster just floating in the soup. Mmmm mm! Next, Home Made Lobster Quesadilla. It was good but I didn’t get the smack I wanted. So I go back to the counter and say I have room for something else, I look at the bags of chips on the rack, almost 400 calories for a bag? Nah. I’ll pass. All of a sudden mamma comes around the corner, try my home made potato salad! So cute, I wanted to squeeze her! Lobster Smack, so good its more like Lobster Kick in the junk. Don’t let the past reviewers discourage you, order a soup for and find this place for lunch this week :)

I read the posted reviews and couldn’t help but wonder if the one star raters truly left with a bad taste in their mouths or simply have bad taste… For these ridiculously low prices, I was astounded at the quality of food served right. The lobster roll has fresh lobster claws, a delicate drizzle of delicious homemade garlic sauce and a mound of love. The Asian slaw, so crispy, fresh and filled with complex and bold flavors. The lobster bisque, creamy, homemade and bountiful with chunks upon chunks of fresh lobster meat. Amazing. The deserts were so fresh and beautiful. I sampled the bread pudding which honestly made me feel«that moment» when nothing else matters, because this is as good as it gets… If tubs of seafood aren’t your thing… Then why go to a place called lobster smack? I love seafood and couldn’t think of a better place to get your food– fresh, quickly, very affordable and ridiculously delicious!!! The service is at sweetheart status. LOVE this place…

I believe that Lobster Smack has been open for about two weeks… I’ve been there 4 times(2 times in one day!) I give it 3 stars — there are still some kinks to work out… but I see potential! The owners are very friendly and ready to please. Mama’s bread pudding is out of this world. Thank you mama! Now for the lobster… the lobster roll was good. At $ 10, it’s a good deal too. If I get it again, I’ll ask for more butter on the roll. It’s not as good as Luke’s Lobster, but I think it’s half the price. The lobster bisque is REALLY good! Creamy, lots of lobster and yummy. And $ 5. That is a good deal! The lobster mac and cheese is something you should try… it’s good, but I’m not quite sold on that particular combo. I like that they sell the GUS sodas too. The slaw was just okay, in my opinion. I want to try the shrimp and crab rolls next. I think they are $ 5 and $ 7, which are very good prices. The displays aren’t appetizing… I like the overall clean décor, but I agree that vats of seafood aren’t that great to look at when you’re ordering or eating. They also need to get their delivery started up. Good luck smack!
