Excellent service. The beautician that helped me shaped my eyebrows and introduced me to eye brow tinting! She was extremely knowledgable.

Came in asking for eyebrow and upper lip waxing. The lady instead started threading my eyebrows and kept reassuring me it is better. She was gentle (so 2 stars) but I did not appreciate that she did not honor my request of waxing. She then started to try to get me to do tinting, which I repeatedly said no. Even at the register when I’m paying, the cashier lady was still trying to impose to me to get tinting. Too much pressure to sell other things here at this place. My eyebrow shape was just ok… did not really have any shape or arch like I usually do with my old place did. I will not be returning.

The best eyebrow professional. I don’t live or work in that area. But I keep coming back there to get my eyebrow treading whenever I have time.

They did a quick and okay job bur I was overpriced. $ 17 for eyebrows and upper lip which is the most I have ever paid. I didn’t like that they were trying to force me to get the eyebrow tinting. I will most likely not return

Going here is like getting into the back of a taxi cab and having to sit thru the ads and commercials as you reach your destination.
The eyebrow thread was perfect. But, I was up charged for the cheek area, and bombarded three different times with the eye brow tinting up sell. Walked away spending $ 17 ($ 20 with tip).
They’ll take a mirror and show you the supposed flaws in your eye brows. Dude, it’s cool. It’s not a flaw, it’s just how my face looks and I’m cool with it.
Please stop monetizing insecurity. It’s predatory.

I’ve been going to Looks for 5 (!) years even though I don’t even live in the area anymore. Jyoti is like family, and she has the perfect amount of eyebrow opinions that will change your face/​life.

I’ve been going to this place for two years. It’s a little on the expensive side but if it’s on your face you shouldn’t skimp on quality. I was scared to do the tint for the first year … Now every time I get it once a month I get compliments everywhere. All employees are great but if you haven’t done your eyebrows In a while go to the owner. She’s gifted!

Jyoti was so sweet and passionate about helping make my eyebrows look better with threading and tinting. She did a great job and was a joy to spend time with while she worked. Would go back and recommend to others!

I look to see if my requests and inquiries are being taken to heart and honored. And Jyoti consistently exceeds my expectations. She is surely an NY gem!

They are the best. Absolutely painless threading! I’m definitely making the trek back to them instead of going anywhere else.

Really bad experience here which was disappointing for all the good reviews they have. The woman changed the shape of my eyebrows though I asked to have them cleaned up and pinched my eyelid leaving a scab. Also did a terrible job with my upper lip leaving whole lines of hair. Will not be coming back.

I usually take a tweezer to my brows at home for some routine maintenance, but feeling fancy as I was I decided to indulge and have threading done-​for the first time.
Jyoti is warm, fun and FAST. Literally in and out in 5 minutes. After she cleaned the area up, I mentioned my arches had filled in. She went right back and like magic I have two functional human eyebrows again. I will definitely be coming back whenever the hairs she artfully snatched do grow back. Thanks!

*Update: I’ve been going to Jyoti for over a year, and she’s still the only person I let touch my brows. My eyes still water almost every time, but it’s definitely worth it. Don’t go anywhere else for your eyebrows. It’s worth every cent.

I heard about Jyoti’s skills on previous Unilocal threading reviews and because she is conveniently located on 14^th Street. It had been a while since I had my eyebrows done so I was very hesitant.
Jyoti was extremely encouraging and professional. I explained that I was only looking for a trim and she did exactly what I asked for. I’ve been going back every 1 – 2 weeks since February and I am more than happy with the results.
I highly recommend Jyoti to anyone, especially for those hesitant (like I was) about trying new treatments for the first time. Her threading technique is unmatched!

I went there with my sister after she kept complaining about how awful my eyebrows looked. Joyti and the other women are super sweet and they did an amazing job, I left there looking amazing. I got them threaded and tinted for a super great price as well. I wish I could bring them to LA w me.

Best place for eyebrows and bikini wax as well. I am extremely picky about my eyebrows and have constantly reviewed places in the city to find the perfect spot. I have gone to folks claiming to be the ‘best’ and spent ridiculous amounts of money for average work. I will never go anywhere else now that I found this place. I get my eyebrows threaded and tinted and it always looks amazing and perfectly symmetrical.
They also do an amazing job for bikini waxing with sugar wax. I would definitely recommend this place because I am very satisfied every time and I have been going for months. Each time my eyebrows look the same so I never have to worry. I strongly recommend the tinting as well. I was very nervous to try it but once I did I am hooked. My eyebrows always look full and very natural.

I googled best eye brows spots in NYC and BAM! This place was one of them. I have a hard time trusting just anyone take over my brows, but this place I fell in love with. I made an appointment with Jyoti 2/​10, just because after seeing most Unilocal reviews she seemed like the eyebrow goddess and she was nothing short of that during my visit.
From the moment I arrived I felt very welcomed and went into telling her how I would like my brows done (not too thin, but not too thick. And shaped nicely) before I could finish she said don’t worry.
I normally don’t write long reviews but, she’s amazing!!! Her passion for eyebrows shows once you look in that mirror (side note: take a before + after photo, SO WORTH IT). I decided to do the tint and didn’t feel forced at all. In love with my brows and the compliments on them feel great!

Why can’t I give a ½ star?
Short and simple:
It is Friday, September 19^th. My 25^th High School Reunion is the next day, so let me go get my brows threaded. That happened. Then came the upsell (lip? eyebrow tint?). I’m feeling sassy so I agree to everything. «But that’s henna, right?» I ask. «Yes» says the technician. «It is straight henna, though, right?» «Yes!» she says again. She applies it. I look a bit like a costumed extra in a TV movie about circus side shows when I leave the place from the tint, but ok.
Within hours, my eyebrows start to swell. They start to itch like crazy. Swelling continues the next day. By Sunday afternoon, I look like I’ve been in a fight. By Monday, my eyes are puffed almost shut and the swelling is so intense I’m getting headaches. Tuesday, I’m at urgent care. A doctor walks in, takes one look at me and basically shudders. Chemical burn, she says. She prescribes steroids. I’ve been popping Benedryls for five days straight. Missed two days of work and travel that was supposed to start tomorrow for the job.
Not henna. Straight up hair dye.
Hoping my eyebrows aren’t permanently damaged. Am horrified, this situation has physically hurt, and clearly, its not fun being in public looking like I fought with Mike Tyson.

I came in after reading the reviews for eyebrow threading on my way home on a weekday evening. I was able to sit right down and my requests to leave some areas growing for fill-​in were obliged. In line with some other warnings here I listened to the other employee (owner?) tell the woman next to me why she needed to have her eyebrows tinted the entire time, which prompted the women working on mine to tell me the same– luckily only once.
In short: too expensive for my preference and push sales but good service. The aloe massage on my temples was amazing.
