If you are looking for a doctor who really cares about the patients, listens and doing her best to help you solving your medical problem, then you should choose Dr. Chrisomalis. I didn’t have the appointment and I called to see if it’s possible to see her for a rather urgent consultation. She made time for me withing the matter of a couple of hours and was very thorough asking questions about my medical history. She was listening very carefully until she had a full picture about what was going on. Going to a gynecologist for me is like going to the dentist, and I am very grateful that Dr. Chrosomalis did everything to make me feel comfortable throughout the exam. What I appreciate the most is her approachability and the fact that she made me understand my condition and how therapy is going to help me. I left the doctors office satisfied and relieved as any patients should.

Dr. Chrisomalis is attentive and really listens. She takes the time to understand what your concerns are and address them. On top of that, she is highly intelligent, kind, and perceptive. What more can you ask for?

Dr. Chrisomalis was referred to me by my primary care physician but before I made an appointment I went online to read as many patient reviews as I could. She was great… intelligent, warm, gentle and funny. So happy to have found her… will refer her to anyone I know who needs a Gynecologist. Couldn’t be happier with her!

Dr. Chrisomalis is a wonderful gynecologist who came highly recommended to me, and I now recommend her to everyone I know. She is comprehensive, professional, attentive and personable. It is rare to find someone who makes you feel so comfortable in a seemingly uncomfortable situation. You will not be disappointed, Dr. Chrisomalis is the best!

Yes, she is a very nice person but I found her very unprofessional and disorganized. She leaves the door open to look for her pre-​med students when you are waiting in the exam room. She discusses issues outside at the front desk (does she not have an office)? I even had concerns about hygiene as she seems to forget and misplace things. My former obgyn was extremely professional but had terrible bedside manners, so I was in search for a new one. Upon reading good reviews about Dr. Chrisomalis I was really hopeful but I wouldn’t trade professionalism and cleanness over a cheerful attitude. I will not be returning.

Found my new gyno! I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found Dr. Chrisomalis. Went to see her on a weekday. Appointment scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Arrive 11:55am, they thank me for being early. 12:05pm, I am in the room. 12:10, Dr. Chrisomalis walks in. What a great, GREATdoctor! I was thoroughly examined and loved that she saw me and only me. She didn’t walk out of the room and treat two patients at one time, which happens quite often in other offices. A ++

What a lovely experience my annual appointment was! Dr. Chrisomalis was gentle and a total sweetheart. She acts like she’s known you forever and she makes you feel very comfortable. She went above and beyond during my appointment. I feel so lucky to have found a great ob/​gyn like her! Absolutely go to see her. She booked my new patient appointment within ten days and the appointment itself was very timely. Beautiful office, great staff, great doctor!

Absolutely an angel! She has been my obgyn for a few years and I couldn’t be more satisfied. She listens, takes her time and is always on time somehow. I am so sad that she will not be able to deliver my baby, because I’m moving to California. However regardless, she randomly texts/​calls just to see how I’m feeling. I cannot express how amazing she has been to me through the last few years and now going through my first pregnancy. Dr. Chrisomalis is what every woman looks for in a gyno.

Dr. Chrisomalis has a very compassionate, friendly, funny, and relatable personality. She makes me feel comfortable on my first visit with her since moving to NYC two years ago. I’m so grateful for Unilocal reviewers who highly recommended her. I wouldn’t have found her otherwise. I was so relieved I felt comfortable to ask her any questions and address any and all of my concerns with her. She took the time to explain clearly so I understand and am informed.

I have been going to Dr. Chrisolmalis for over 3 years. She is amazing. She is always available when you need her, and goes above and beyond, especially in instances that are urgent. She is genuinely empathetic with her patients, and will do whatever it takes to make sure her patients are taken care of.

I found Dr Chrisomalis while doing a search for gynecologists when I relocated to the NYC area. Her ratings were very good from a trusted website. Upon meeting she made a great first impression. She was very easy to talk to, professional and thorough. I was even impressed when she promptly called me to respond to some medical information I had sent her. I have been searching for an obgyn for six years now living in New York and I’ve tried out four or five. Dr. Chrisomalis described in four words — Caring, Calm, Smart, Funny. I would suggest anyone to go to Dr. Chrisomalis — in fact I already gave her number to three of my friends!

I’ve been Dr. Chrisomalis’ patient over 12 years. She has never let me down. If there is something I must know, she will call me herself and she is frank and clear in what I must do next. If the matter is out of her specialty, she assigns other MDs that she keenly suspects would be a good fit. With well thought questions, she’ll give you smart answers. If she does not have the answer, she Will follow up. In times of crises, she has a wonderful bedside manner. She conducts a wonderful family planning visit for couples looking to conceive and has outstanding colleague specialists in which she can refer you. She is sharp and knows her Ob/​Gyn. As a woman, I appreciate this tremendously.
In times when some Physicians can no longer be bothered because employers are curtailing their employees’ plans, I more so appreciate Dr. Chrisomalis for maintaining the integrity of her practice. She accepts insurance, yet it is patients’ responsibility to meet deductibles and co-​pays and to forward any $checks inadvertently sent to patient for Provider (Doctor). It is absolutely the patient’s responsibility to know what that is and to expect a bill for the difference due. A patient is not allowed to have a hissy fit over this. Dr. Chrisomalis is an In-​Network Provider; there are no surprise charges ever.
Ms. Chi N. 1/​13/​2013 – I read your critique. As Dr. Chrisomalis is a wonderful doctor and affordable, she is very busy. You seem very needy. All Insurance Members – It IS Your Responsibility to know your Insurance Plan. It is not the Dr.‘s responsibility to educate you but yours to educate yourself. There may be 10 different Insurance Companies soliciting your employers’ business and 15 varieties of plans for each companies’ employees’ tiers. YOU must read Your employer’s Human Resources’ materials on Your individual Medical Insurance Plan; there is often a web site. If you do not understand, call Insurance Company or your Human Resources Dept. If you see some discrepancies in a bill, do ask your doctor intelligently then refer to your insurance company. It IS often a long and arduous process, intended to be that way so the member (you) gives up. If insurance company does no good by you, go to your Human Resources Dept. Keep a paper trail. Complacency protects your insurance companies, sometimes your employers wallets; not your Providers who help you. And it’s bad for you because it will affect your credit score eventually. You, the Insurance member, get what you pay for and pay to keep it. Keep good records and educate yourself in your financial responsibilities of your Insurance Plan.
Lastly, like many caring Providers, I happen to know Dr. Chrisomalis maintains a clientele of women in greatest need of treatment who absolutely have no insurance. If you believe this is you, don’t even think about it. These women may not even have access to internet.
Dr. Chrisomalis is as good as it gets for Ob/​Gyn care if you rely on a Medical Insurance plan to help you pay for your medical expenses; even if not.

I am updating my review on 11÷2÷13:
I made an appointment with Dr. Chrisomalis for 1:00 pm. When I arrived at the doctors office, the doorman told me that she wasn’t here yet and then opened her office for me to wait in the waiting room. I waited for 45 minutes before leaving. The doctor never showed up. I find this extremely rude and I will not be going to this doctor again. When I booked the appointment I gave them my phone number so there is so excuse for not calling me to let me know if she would be unable to see me. It took me over an hour to get here from Brooklyn and I am quite disappointment in the doctor and her staff.
My original review:
I found Dr. Chrisomalis through Unilocal.I was very nervous for my first visit because I had never been to a gynecologist before. Dr. Chrisomalis put me at ease right away, gave me a thorough and comfortable exam and answered any questions that I had. I went through trying out so many different pills before I found one that I liked one year later! She was so great about listening to my reactions to each pill, giving me appropriate advice (either trying the pill for another month or if a reaction was something that we would need to switch pills). She was generous enough to give me a few samples so that I could try out the pills before paying money for it.
While I have great things to say about Dr. Chrisomalis, I have had some billing issues and issues with contacting her office. It took me almost 2 months to get the results for my last pap smear AND that was only because I called the office at least 10 times. Furthermore I was charged for a visit when I came in to pick up my test results!
However Dr. Chrisomalis resolved each situation right away and called me back each time HERSELF! She is a great doctor and even though I had issues with the staff, they were immediately taken care of and I would recommend her because she will make you feel extremely comfortable.

Great personality, fantastic bedside manner with genuine, through the roof passion. Everything others here have said about Lorraine is true. Spending 15 mins with her is like having a shot of ginseng concentrate, her energy penetrates you and keeps you warm and fuzzy for the rest of the day.
I called for an appointment the other day and wanted to reschedule my gf’s appointment — and mind you, I already called two times before this to inquire about other things and I was getting ready to be treated impatiently like one usually would with most and this was what happened: Lorraine was next to her secretary Christina (who is also great). She overheard our convo and actually cared enough to pick up the phone and talked to me! This is what medical care is all about but unfortunately such doctors are impossible to find these days — maybe most people just get burned out after a while. Schools can teach you skills, but no one can teach you to be passionate at what you do and keep up this level of passion like this woman is doing.
She solved more than our medical needs — she gave me a glimpse of the difference you can make when you genuinely care about what you do. Makes me want to go see her when she is having a bad day just to see what that’s like.
Please go with other doctors with higher ratings and leave Lorraine for us. People camp outside Apple Store to get an iPhone, we will camp outside Lorraine’s office just to see her.

My friend referred me to Dr. Chrisomalis and I couldn’t be happier with her. She’s so thorough, so caring and patient.
She answers all my questions, gives advice (on personal things too!), and always makes me feel like she has time for me.
She confirmed certain things I thought were «wrong» with me and gave me official diagnoses. She’s referred me to other specialists as well.
She is fun, charismatic, high energy. Love her!

Dr. Chrisomalis is an amazing ob-​gyn. She is very knowledgeable, thorough and best of all, a super nice and caring person. I know it sounds somewhat bizarre but my visit to her was actually fun — she has a very positive attitude, a great sense of humor and made me feel completely at ease while she examined me. She explained what was going on and answered so patiently and in great detail to all my questions. She even counseled my husband and I on a somewhat separate issue — unlike other ob-​gyns who would have required us to book an other appointment for that.
My visit to Dr. Chrisomalis was nothing like any other visit to any other ob-​gyn, where they try to rush you in and out in 15 mins. Or they make you wait forever before you get to see the doctor. Or they tell you to book an other appointment if you have further questions/​issues to discuss. You know the story, we’ve all been there…
So, after my first visit to Dr. Chrisomalis, I knew I found a great ob-​gyn. Then it got better. A week later, it was the doctor herself who called me back with the test results and again, she was there to explain what everything meant and to answer questions. One test had to be repeated, which she did so quickly and efficiently, and she did not even charge me for that visit!
As others said, Dr. Chrisomalis is, without a doubt, THE BEST ob-​gyn out there and I’m grateful to have found her. I’d probably travel far just to see her but as luck would have it, her new office is just across the street from my apartment. When it comes to doctors, it just doesn’t get any better than this — I wish more doctors were like her.
