I love phở and this place was a middle of the road place for it. I also got the coconut bun which was huge! And delicious — good to share or save for later which is what I did. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also addicting! The great part was that I got my food in almost no time at all. The staff was friendly as well.

Great little spot by Baruch College. But I can’t even begin to mention how great the food is. The employees are super friendly and very quick in bringing out the food. Will definitely be coming more often as I only work a few blocks away !

I have no idea what the standards for Phở are in the East Coast are compared to SF but this place was good enough. My only issue was that the bowl of noodle was small considering the beans sprouts and basil were already added. The broth was tasty and there was enough meat for every bite.

First time trying Vietnamese food and it was really good. I came for lunch today with my coworker, ordered the grill chicken banh mi and veggie spring roll. The banh mi was huge so we split it. Total $ 17.15 They didn’t put a lot of chicken in the banh mi. Literally had 2 pieces in my ½. The banh mi was flavorful I would return. Looking forward to trying phở

Solid place to grab some phở if you’re in the area. It’s a dollar or two more expensive than Chinatown but still a cheap and satisfying eat. The iced mint lemon tea was refreshing despite the sugar. They do take credit cards but with a minimum(I think it was $ 10 or $ 15).

So, so, so dry. I came in with the intention of ordering the grilled pork chop based on the Unilocal reviews. And instead got the boneless pork bun since the lady behind the counter said the pork chop order was extremely small, «only two pieces.» Should have gone with my original choice. Not only was the dish mostly noodles I just cannot get over how dry it was. When I opened up the box I was shocked by how the meat looked, had I eaten in I would have sent it back. It was clearly over cooked and left out for a long period of time. I can’t believe the other reviews, did I somehow walk into an altogether different shop with the same name? A ringer? The one star is for the lady behind the counter who, while I do not appreciate the upsell to whatever I wound up buying, was extremely nice. The second star is for the shrimp rolls, which were delicious.

I made an order on the phone and specifically asked for the beef banh mi, when I came to pick up, they gave me chicken instead… Admittedly, I was pretty annoyed but the lady at the counter tried to appease me by giving me a water bottle and told me that chicken is actually one of their best sellers. I semi reluctantly took the sandwich and left. As a American Vietnamese, I’ve had my fair share of good vietnamese sandwiches, so when I found this place, I didn’t have much high hopes for it. I thought that it was just going to be another one of those«Vietnamese» wannabe places with mediocre food with little regard to authenticity. Honestly, I was expecting it to be bad, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong. The sandwich was delightfully delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly and I love how it was not dried out like most of the chicken sandwiches that I’ve eaten. All the flavor profiles were on point and I was really satisfied with my meal. I seriously cannot wait to try the next sandwich on that menu!!!

The small place is packed with hungry souls at lunch time. The Manu on the wall is in English, Chinese and the paper menu has Vietnamese as well. Do not panic if the table in front lobby are full; there are plenty of seat in the left. We ordered Phở Chin Nam Sach, a rice noodle with beef naval and strip. Onion, scallion, basil, and lime complete the dish perfectly. The soup is more flavorful comparing to most of its peers.

Not that the food was anywhere near the best I’ve had, but I was happy to have found a viet place that delivers to the office that wasn’t completely garbage. I WAS starving so maybe that added to it, but though the broth was borderline overly seasoned, it was pretty good. the Phở I feel gets kind of pricey if you added to it(more than it should be – but then again maybe they give you hearty portions?) and if you don’t like the garnishes then you might want to ask them to leave it out before hand(they don’t separate it) The sandwich was kind of shy on the meats and what not(maybe I’ve been spoiled) but overall the flavor on it was fairly decent. Time will tell if this will be my go-to spot but for now I want to be hopeful

I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and I really like it here! I feel like their food has improved a lot compared to back then. I usually order their raw beef noodle soup or grilled pork chop over rice! I recommend those two! Also the ladies that work there are always super nice.

I used to come here when I went to school in the area — it’s a great place to satisfy your Banh Mi cravings! From what I remember, a banh mi is around $ 8 — and they’re very good! The banh mi’s here are very popular(well, it is more convenient than ordering Phở), and the lines tend to get long during lunchtime. I don’t believe I’ve ever tried the Phở here but would love to try it out the next time I’m in the area and am craving Vietnamese!

Luu’s Baguette is an interesting find in Lexington Ave. The food was so refreshing and flavorful, I was full from the looking at the food. Ordered: Bun Xuong Nuong (Grilled pork chop served with bean sprouts, lettuce, mint, cucumber, lemon fish sauce and peanuts on the side.) First Impression: I thought they only gave me white noodles and pork with spinach on top. I was like«So, you are going to play me at lunch time?» To my surprise, as picked at the noodles, I started to see vibrant green colors. Mint came out of nowhere, cucumber, peanuts and bean sprouts. Then I thought to my mind«I’m going to demolish this food with no regrets» therefore, I took my chopsticks and went to town. There’s a seating area for customers which I love! As a student, it is so annoying to order from take-outs and carry your textbooks with the food into campus dining rooms to hope there is an empty seat. I happily sat down in Luu’s and my laptop bag and jacket beside me. I call that«Lunch Date With Work.» Will I Come Back?: I’m going back today.(Rubs belly and rubs hands).

Been here a few times. The food was alright, nothing extraordinary. Today was the first time I had takeout from this place and it wasn’t that great of an experience. I had the Thai ice tea and beef phở. My work place was 10 – 15 mins from the place. As I open my lunch, the soup was still steaming hot. I then poured it, moved the noodles around alittle and let the beef cook itself. The noodle would not budge and was chunky. When I try to separate the noodles, it broke into two pieces. It was pretty bad. I was eating chunks of noodles and as well as raw beef. The beef was so chewy and alittle red, I tried chewing it but since it wasn’t fully cooked, I cannot even separate it them by biting it. It was overall a pretty bad experience. However, it got a little better when I microwaved it. The noodles were still in chunks but atleast the beef was cooked. But still, it wasn’t as fresh as I thought it would’ve been. The phở was alright. Thai tea was pretty good. Not too sweet.

I’m surprised at the mid-range ratings I see for this place. It’s definitely become one of my lunchtime go-to’s thanks to my phở-loving coworkers. I’ve actually never had the banh mi so I can’t speak to the baguette after which Luu’s is named, but I can definitely speak for the Bun Cha Gio Chay($ 8.25) and the Phở Bo Kho($ 7.95), which is a huge and flavorful beef stew loaded with plenty of meat — something I never knew existed til my coworkers introduced me to it. Both of these dishes are crazy satisfying and pretty large, and it’s an amazing price compared to a lot of lunch places around here. The line gets long but it moves very quickly and I’ve always been able to find a table, either at the front or in the larger dining area in the back. They take credit cards, and they’re FAST. Seems like people mostly seem underwhelmed by the banh mi, so take my advice and try the soup and noodle dishes, as I haven’t been disappointed yet!

I found Luus baguette when I started working in the flatiron area and it has been my saving grace in the cold winter time! Although they serve traditional Vietnamese phở and other dishes, they also sell Chinese buns and drinks like Horlick and Ovaltine. And with a line almost out the door, you know you came to the right place. I usually order the phở with the beef slices but I saw a Unilocal review on their beef stew phở and it blew my mind! The beef cubes were super tender and the broth has a slight kick. I also loved the stewed carrots, which are actually the only way I like to eat carrots. They don’t skim out on the beef and phở noodles either. What’s also great is that your dish typically gets brought to your table a minute or two after you find a seat. The winters in the city are pretty rough but that just means you need a trip to Luus Baguette!

It’s not the best Vietnamese food but it’s nice cause it’s close to school so I can get a quick bite to eat. I had the summer rolls it was super good I really liked their peanut sauce and the roll itself tasted super fresh! Then I got pork sausage and egg over rice which was good I think it was a little pricy for portion but it is what it is. I will come back for summer roll and interested in trying the phở.

Luu’s is a favorite lunch spot of mine since it’s so close to my office, and the food is awesome-sauce. I’ve introduced many colleagues to this lunch spot, and almost everyone has LOVED the food. I’ve ordered(on many occasions): — Vegetarian spring roll, B+ — Chicken Phở, A — Shrimp Phở, B+ — Fish Ball Phở, B+ — Chicken Banh Mi, A Their prices are amazing as well, each lunch item is usually under $ 10. There’s a beef stew phở that is well-loved by many, but I haven’t tried that one personally myself. They are intensely busy during lunch times, particularly during the frigid winter months when everyone is trying to warm up with a big bowl of their piping hot noodle soups. If you go at 11:45am, not very busy. 10 minutes later, PACKED. They do have seating available both in the front where the cashier area is and their«back room.» Tipping isn’t necessary at the conclusion of your meal, but they do ask that you take care of your own garbage, and put their bowls in these large bins that are then taken directly to the dishwasher.

Once in a while when I’m nearby, I stop into Luu’s for bahn mi or soup. This past weekend was the perfect day for that — COLD winter’s day called for a bowl of phở and some bahn mi to fill me up for the road back home. I had the tofu bahn mi, which consisted of pickled veggies & fried tofu. It was a little too sweet for me, since I prefer more savory and spicy. The portions were great though, and the Vietanese iced coffee was really sweet as well. My friend had a side of their soup which we got to split and that was amazing. So I’d definitely like to try their phở next time~ It’s a no fuss, casual lunch place, which makes it feel like Asia. Looking forward to trying this place again!

I caught a cold recently and needed something to soothe my throat and phở was the way to go. PROS: — phở tai($ 7.95) its decent but not as good as Nha Trang in chinatown — which is cheaper and bigger CON: — phở chay($ 7.50) veggies phở — none of the veggies were cooked through. It was like eating hard raw vegetables. I also didn’t like the sesame oil mixed in with the broth.

Ordered the #21 on Seamless. Delivery was quick since my office was nearby, but the sandwich still arrived cold. Bread was a little rough, but the meats were tasty. The Vietnamese iced coffee was ridiculously sweet though. Like way beyond what’s expected with condensed milk. I had to add some water to it. Probably could’ve made two servings with it. Anyway, it’s cheap enough, and I’ll give them another shot.
