Seems like this place is closed. Good riddance. Probably did sufficient damage to Hyderabadi biryani’s name.

Well I don’t have much to say. I ordered some fish dish on the lunch menu. But before that, when I entered the restaurant the waiter told me to sit anywhere. I sat down and waited for a couple of minutes. The waiter disappeared for a while and the woman next to me became frustrated because she didn’t get her order taken yet. There was only one waiter and so I went up to get my own menu. The woman next to me called the restaurant on her cellphone and the waiter picked up. She told him how she’s dining in the restaurant and wanted to order. I found it to be pretty hilarious cause the waiter came out and then took her order. That’s when he offered the lunch menu to me too. The order didn’t take long and the waiter was pretty nice. But the service beforehand was horrible. Now as for the food, the food was not that great. I have only eaten authentic Indian food once and it was okay. I thought it would be better because it was a restaurant. But the food itself was pretty bland and my curry was only half a bowl while my boyfriends was all filled up. But other than that it was okay, just know that I wouldn’t come back here. I want some good Indian food, not bland.

Worst experience, fraud, terrible people, they added 18% tip in check for no reason. How can they do it? Hell expensive, nice restaurants are just next to it. Don’t go to this fraud place. Stay away

We ordered 2 take out paradise biryanis couples days ago. When we reached home to my surprise it neither looked nor tasted like the original paradise biryani served in New Jersey Connecticut etc. the quality of ingredients were mediocre to poor and flavor was subpar. I called yesterday to speak to the manager but the rude front desk person did not allow me to speak to manager and was defensive and arguing over the fact that why I did not call asap. To the manager: I ordered the biryani on sat evening and I am addressing the issue on Monday evening. I am disappointed that instead of hearing my feedback and addressing it your front desk is arguing over the time frame of my complaint. The quality of the food is subpar and it is not paradise biryani that I was given but I was charged the same. Will not be coming back and will take my complaint further to next level.

Wanted Indian food close by and decided to stop in. I enjoyed every part of the meal. We ordered random things that were suggested to us by the waiter and everything was delicious. He also came to check if the spice level was okay which I very much appreciated. I will be going again and I would recommend it for a date, just going with friends and it would be a good place to take your family as well. CHEERS to the delicious food and good service!

As a Hyderabadi I heard alot about this place, my brother who is a chef went to their other location in queens and said it was good. I decided to try their kips bay location… one word.DISAPPOINTING. Their food is way overpriced for that location, specially for lunch, I had the $ 10 lunch special(Hyderabad chicken) which consisted of tasteless chicken in a tomato sauce, some tasteless daal, the food was BLAND. All these restaurants in the area are killing each other with their low prices, its all quantity and zero quality. Ive been going to the real Paradise restaurant in Hyderabad since I was 10, these guys do not deserve to call themselves purveyors of Hyderabadi cuisine or Paradise. As Ive done before in the other neighbourhood restaurants, I will give it another shot to see if things have improved, if not will stick to the ones I know are good.

I came here with a friend and ordered chicken saag, goat biryani, chicken vindaloo, garlic naan, and a spiced lamb appetizer. It was pretty disappointing. Pros: –Wait staff was very nice –Close to my new apartment Cons: –Extremely bland food(is that even possible at an Indian restaurant?) –Zero atmosphere –No alcohol –Overpriced(not expensive, just simply the food is not worth the prices they charge) –Watery raita

Have been to the place multiple times before but went last week and the experience was horrific We ordered the chicken tikka masala, boneless chicken biryani and aloo Parantha. — The aloo Parantha was really bad and not worth it. Wouldn’t order again –the chicken in the boneless biryani was really hard and very difficult to chew. When I complained, they were rude and told me this is how they cook it always(which is incorrect I remember it being way better before). Do NOT order — on the flip side, the chicken tikka masala tasted really good and the chicken was nice and tender We got a groupon deal so the experience didn’t hurt too much on the pocket but still was not worth it. The paradise biryani in queens is way better

You know how you never quite figured out why those otherwise-normal friends of yours are all«OMG, INDIANFOODSUCKS!»? It is because they ate here. I am sure of it. I am not sure what we were thinking when we decided to go here. it is right next door to Saravanas which had a long line and yet Paradise was mostly empty. This was a clear bad sign that we blatantly ignored due to hunger(as there is no universe in which dosas beat a good biryani!). The mutton biryani was bland and the meat was not prepared properly(it smelled bad and had an off texture). It was served with the most watery raita I have ever seen and also a red oily sauce. My sister tasted some and immediately insisted no one inflict it upon themselves. Apparently it was just slightly spicy grease/oil(?). Was it their attempt at mirch ka salan? I certainly hope not. The Chicken Hyderabadi’s description promised warm spices and coconut milk. The dish we got consisted of boneless chicken thighs in a generic tasting tomato sauce. The«best» tasting dish was the butter chicken and that’s only because it had some discernible butter flavour. The naan was edible and the Chicken 65 was alright. Still, neither was really all that good. The mango lassi was not for me but it is a great choice for those with a serious sweet tooth. Our server seemed friendly and attentive but didn’t ask any questions despite noticing the mostly untouched biryani that we declined to take with us. The meal set us back $ 75 + tip and everyone was still hungry. This place is overpriced for the quality of the food. To quote a pop star I dislike only slightly less than crappy biryani: Paradise Biryani, we are never ever ever getting back together.

Since my last review two weeks ago, I have noticed the portion size decrease. For $ 14.00 I want more than two tiny eggplants in my Bagara Baingan. Even after three entrees and an appetizer, rice and two nann, my girlfriend and I were hungry, that was with tip, $ 85… so a little over the top. What has happened is that in the last month(or week) the portion size has decreased by at least thirty percent. And my impression is that they have somehow raised the prices, that may not be so, but it seems like that. I am not sure when I will be returning here, probably not for months. I am a fairly good judge of this stuff as I eat at Indian Restaurants twice a week, I have been eating Indian food for over forty years and I have been to India at least ten times in the last five years.

I ordered a goat curry lunch special for $ 10, and it came with 4 pieces of lamb. Exactly 4 pieces! 2 small pieces about 1⁄3 of an inch, 2 pieces on the bone about 1 inch(mostly bone). My advice: do not go there if you want to eat more than an ounce of meat.

Do NOT order biryani delivery from this restaurant. They will basically rip you off(you’ll get mostly rice) and then act rude/surprised/cheeky when you remind them to improve next time around. I’ve been through this cycle a few too many times. just stay away and order from another place, there are plenty these days. **Added 1 hr later after trying Kokum’s biryani. wayyy better(it’s real biryani not just rice) and at the same price. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen on Lexington Avenue. Owners: Can you not see how much business you’re losing by keeping such terrible staff who answer your phones?

I have only been here once, so it could be that this place is actually good and we happened to visit them on a wrong day. However, here goes. The biryani was lackluster. The meat quality seemed okay but the taste was not up to the mark. Hyderabadi biryani is supposed to be full of masala and spicy but this was almost like pullao. The service was very bad and slow. There were many customers complaining and in all I felt that there was a general disorder in the restaurant. Again, it might have been a bad day. There are many better places to eat Indian food in NYC.

We went to NY last mnth on 25th May, 2014 and we had our lunch here. I would like to call their biriyani as colored rice. Given a chance want to show them how exactly biriyani taste n smells like. Got our food after 1.5 hrs. Single guy was serving the entire restaurant. AC was not working. Even they did not server water on time and d glasses were not cleaned. Seems like they never washed them. Foods were expensive but I do not hv any problem with price as long as the food and services are good. Please do not waste your money, time n energy. Even u guys wanna try this… b my guest.

I am BIG Biryani fan and have eaten all sorts of Biryanis in India(almost everywhere). To start with, they are not the REALAUTHENTIC Paradise Biryani. If you are mistaken that they would serve the great tasting biryanis like the Paradise in Hyderabad then«Sir, you are mistaken« They have a weird form of biryani or I must say Chicken Pulaav. The spices are not mixed in right form, The chicken /Lamb pieces are too small & the richness/aroma of a good Biryani is NOT present. I was so disappointed by the taste that nothing else mattered. The service was GOOD, with a smile BUT the price was another factor which made me believe that Indian restaurants are never cheap in America. What’s the deal with 4 $ Sodas? Even in the age of Coke being cheaper than water, why should I pay for 4 $ Soda ??? I also tried Chicken 65. Being a Bangalorean, I have tasted all sorts of Chicken 65 for a period of 7 years & I must congratulate them that they were successful in NOT distorting the taste of chicken 65. It was good, mushy & well spiced.

Enjoyed lunch of Lamb Vindaloo, Curry Dhal, Goat, and side dish of Biryani Chicken. Tasty. Price point is above other lunch choices in area, but I think worth it. Yes, part of a chain. But not evident. Tip: Don’t miss Mango Lassi drink.

Delicious egg biryani! I have had biryani from a couple of more generic North Indian restaurants and it has always been disappointing. Requesting spicy(as a true indian missing home food, i find i always do!) often results in tongue burning/tasteless hot vs flavourfully spiced. But here i didn’t even have to ask, it was perfectly spiced and came with raita(yogurt) on the side as well as their spicy peanut based sauce. Their lunch specials are great, portion size and taste are a 8 out of 10 easy! Hot fresh food and very pleasant waiters. Also, have to say, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and calm of the place. Tastefully decorated and food well presented. As a vegetarian, Indian, food lover… i was very impressed.

Dishes I have tried: a) Chicken biryani(~$ 14) b) lunch Chicken Tikka Masala($ 10) Pros: — Restaurant is clean and well decorated Cons: a) Chicken biryani had chunks of white chicken meat, which wasn’t marinated inside. It was basically dry, tasteless chicken breasts people eat for dieting and body building. b) Lunch special chicken tikka masala had a ridiculous proportion. It had 4 small pieces of chicken. Each piece was smaller than the fork. When confronted, the waiter pointed out the unlimited naan, daal, and rice, but i would much rather go a nearby lunch buffet indian restaurant for the same price. — I think they were cooking onions in the kitchen. Everyone at my table, the closest one to the kitchen, was about to cry because of the air. — Although the place was almost empty, it took too long to get the waiter’s attention and get the check. Summary: Based on two visits, both the proportion and the taste of food here were far worse than many other restaurants nearby. And this venue is not on the cheaper side compared to others. I won’t come back.
