Manhattan Diner

Today my significant other & I placed an online delivery & we waited about 2 hours for our food. We’re only blocks away, silly I know. Should’ve went out. But this is the 2^nd time the food arrived late, meaning it was cold. I loved my BLT today tho, it was nice & crispy like I asked for. My partner on the other hand wasn’t too pleased at all even when we got our food for free. He took one bite of his burger & tossed it. Just wished it was hot so he would enjoy it. The last time I ordered a Mediterranean salad I think & I asked for feta cheese & it was dry. Other than that, everything was pretty good. The last time he ordered a burger it was great! So just next time, maybe the delivery guy will be on time. Not sure what happened but thanks for the free food. I really appreciate it. Xoxo

Finding a new diner in a new neighborhood of Manhattan is always scary. My boyfriend just moved to the Upper West Side after being an eastsider for the past 3 years.
We were wandering around and found Manhattan Diner and thought «Hey! Let’s give it a shot, we’ve got to start somewhere». We were very happy with our experience! The staff was friendly and were seated right away.
I ordered the pene with vodka sauce which was delicious. All their pasta looked good, actually. The prices were very reasonable too. The bf ordered the Manhattan Diner burger with fries. The fries were crispy with a soft inside — just how i like ‘em! The burger was cooked well and toppings were fresh. We had to top off the meal with a classic chocolate milkshake, because… why not!
Will be back — great location (near the 96^th 1,2,3), and great location to his new place.

Dining in is experience is part of the last breed of true New York diners. Good prices, great menu, no frills, acceptable service. Recommended.
Delivery is kind of a nightmare. We’re talking 45min to an hour. It was never like this back in the day (5+ years ago?). And it’s unfortunate because I want to support these old businesses, but I might just pay for Bareburger since it arrives in a timely manner. Unfortunately, not recommended.

My Unilocalsters, a word about how I feel about the Greek Village Salad here:
. My feelings are really special and sincere for this Greek salad. I am wild about it; I can’t really explain it but there’s just something about the GV salad that is unique to me among all other salads. I just want this salad all the time. Every day perhaps could work?
I’ll say it. Yes. Yes. I want this salad to go home with me (takeout or delivery, in-​out) on the regular. I’ve– (gulp) — (after chewing it’s fresh crunch of course)– just gotta have it!
I have fallen in love with a salad and I want it to marry me.
I savor it’s sensuously smooth creamy abundant feta, the salty olives, the mild bites of pepper and onion, the slightly sweet thin tomato pieces, the zingy balsamic, and the crunch of the veggies. It’s so big and It satisfies me on multiple levels.
Quality time is every time when it comes to the greek village salad.
It’s so fab and filling, when it’s all over I feel I have been with the equivalent of 2 salads, you feel me?

PS Don’t get the side order of sauteed spinach though. Tastes ok but $ 7 for a veggie a la carte in a diner is just greed. No, No.

So, surprisingly, this diner didn’t have the oily-​ness that I usually expect from diners I’ve been to. Thankfully so!
I had the burger so I’m sure I got my fair share of oils, but nonetheless I was lovin’ my burger with a hefty side of fries! Surely satisfied my cravings. To top it off, I had a huge slice of moist chocolate cake! Which is a must share with 3 other people cause it’s huge and so good.
It’s hard to go «out of your way» in Manhattan but I’d definitely come back if I was around the area!

This is where my boss and I have our weekly meetings. They have big tables with booths that are perfect for business meetings. They have a big menu so just about everyone can find something on here. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. They give big portion sizes, so you’re really almost getting two meals for the price of one.

Went for lunch and got the chicken fingers and waffle fries. I loved the waffle fries and home made ranch but was not a huge fan of chicken fingers.
My friend got the sliders, which were huge and tasted great!
The service was good and it was a clean and quick establishment.

Fast service, amazing prices. Delicious and no fuss.
If you’re in the mood for classic breakfast items, this is a great stop. Plus, it’s a block away from the subway stop, so it’s super easy to get to as well.
My only regret is that I didn’t try their drinks. I’m coming back.

Came here one Saturday around 11 for brunch, and what a great find. This place is such a step up from other diners I’ve been to. Despite the place being packed, we were quickly seated, and our food came at lightening speed.
The pancakes, wow wow wow. So fresh, with a perfect crispy outside and soft inside! The bacon we ordered was grilled nicely, but way too fatty for our tastes. The mimosas here are also big and boozy, so I highly recommend brunch here! This place is overall all so good, can’t wait to come back!

I love few things more than diners, and have been to MANY in the city (and even some in Jersey!) This is my favorite by far, and luckily a neighborhood one. Fries are consistently on point, corned beef hash is well done and crispy, frittatas are well worth your money, toast is perfect every time. Service is super friendly.
I can’t speak for any of the «entrée» type things, but it is my personal belief you should be coming to diners for breakfast food only.

Good service from my waitress and bus people, but the pricing is a scheme to push your bill up and up with every single item. It would be really hard to get a lunch here for under $ 13-​$ 15 per person. In short: they nickel and dime you on things that are free/​included elsewhere.
Add ons:
–No free refills on drinks, each will cost $ 2.50
–Fries are 4.50, not included with burgers
–Tomatoes, avocado, pickles are all $ 1.00 add ons EACH for burgers
Other complaints:
No mustard on burgers, didn’t provide it right away.

La déco est vraiment belle sur le thème de New York. Les banquettes spacieuses et confortables et la nourriture est bonne! J’ai pris un burger bbq qui était vraiment bon et copieux! J’ai louché sur les desserts à l’arrivée donc je n’ai pas pu résister et j’ai testé leur «lemon meringue pie» qui n’a rien à voir avec la tarte au citron meringuée qu’on peux manger en France… La Pâte est plutôt une génoise et le citron un flan mais sinon ce n’était pas mauvais! :)

Placed an order for delivery in grubhub… my burgers were all wrong… wanted three with Swiss cheese., got one with swiss, one with bacon and one with nothing .
Wanted them medium rare… they were well done.
Burgers came ice cold an hour later and I live two blocks from the dine
Box food came in looked like it had been stomped and dragged through the rain

When I called the diner I told them of the situation. The person on the phone gave me an attitude when I told him what I wanted. He said «I know what you want «I don’t think so… because if that were the case my food woukd have arrived correctly
There are plenty of other diners in the area… stay away from this place.

Place is so available to us. We ordered the American toast which was poundcake and a group in which was open faced the price was great the service was great we really enjoyed our lunch

My friends and I spent a long weekend a few blocks away from Manhattan Diner and it instantly became our breakfast joint. In a city where food options are abundant and varied, how would 1 place become a «regular» for tourist? — you may ask yourself. Well, the answer is threefold:
The food comes out fresh and hot.
The service is fast, accommodating and friendly.
The prices are reasonable — may I dare say even… cheap.
Did I mention they have a bar? That was a big plus for us being on vacation and everything. I’m sure as a local, I may not care as much, but it’s nice to order some coffee liquor with your coffee in the morning when you don’t have to go to work that day.
All in all, this place is solid. The food is excellent, just not «mind-​blowing» and thus why I’m rating this a 4 our of 5 stars. While way above average, the reality is that there is better… but not often at this price ladies and gentleman. I’m certainly a fan.

Living in NJ and NY area for awhile now I’ve been to good diners and bad. This one is just eh! The food is unremarkable and the service sucks. The first time I chalked up to «it happens.» This morning, no. Only half full and not a friendly word from anyone. Waiter brought me coffee and food quickly then completely disappeared. Ate my whole meal then proceeded to sit with an empty coffee cup with the owner walking back and forth with his hands behind his back and starring at me every few minutes. It was like this for 20 minutes until I finally asked the owner who I also kindly told I hadn’t seen my waiter in awhile. Neither he nor the waiter even apologized. Then they both disappeared again and the process repeated itself while I waited for the check.
With food that is just eh, your service needs to be a lot better to get me back and there are way too many better options to choose from around here.

I liked the vibe of this diner, from the décor to the service. Our waiter was super friendly and accommodating. The kitchen had no problem substituting chicken for beef on one of our orders.
The food came out quickly, and it all tasted fresh. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the pickles they brought to the table while we waited for our meals (they gave each of us a pickle & coleslaw). My daughter said the pickle tasted «like the subway.» Sounds harsh, but it did taste kind of how the subway smells.
That said, my salmon burger was great, and my daughter really enjoyed her Mexican burger (with chicken instead of beef).

This joint gets crowded on Sunday for brunch. Get there ahead of the crowds and you’ll be fine. The menu was pretty wide with both tasty and healthy options.
The egg white omelette was good. You can ask for a side order of salsa to spice it up. Totally worth it.
The Arnold Palmer was refreshing and the mochachino was super good.
All in all a great place to grab some diner food if you’re in the broadway/​96^th ave area. Bonus, 30 feet from subway station.

I came here last night with my boyfriend and the food was amazing. It was so delicious and sooo tasty! I order chicken cutlet parmesan and my boyfriend order steak. He loved it. My food had a unique taste. I have never tasted a chicken cutlet parmesan that tasted like that. Love Love Loved it.
Only bad thing was that the waiter forgot to give us straws for our drinks. He did apologize to us however my boyfriend had ordered baked potato and they gave him mash potato instead. Not cool! Especially since I know how much he loves them.
My new favorite diner but with a different waiter/​waitress :D
11−11−14 UPDATE!!!
We decided to give it another go because the food was delicious the first time despite the not so good service. We arrive and got seated right away with a different waiter then the first time. Yaaaay! right? WRONG! This other waiter toally forgot to give us our drinks, like we literally sat there for the whole hour that we were there with nothing to drink but water. And it’s not like our drinks were so hard to remember, I mean who can forget an order of two diet cokes? It wasn’t even busy! Shame Shame Shame… will not be wasting our money here again.

Un restaurant típico de Nueva York, mas para locales que para turistas, sin embargo, se encuentra ubicado a una cuadra de un hotel por lo que encontraras a locales y turistas conviviendo en el mismo espacio.
No tiene nada nuevo ni atractivo, es un lugar cómodo para sentarte a comer en una mesa o en su barra, cuentan con desayunos o comidas.
El servicio es promedio, ni tan bueno ni tan malo, definitivo lo podrían mejorar siendo mas hospitalarios.
La comida no es buena en realidad, le hace falta sazón, eso si, las porciones son buenas. El café no es muy bueno y no te lo dan tan caliente para ser las 8 de la mañana.
Algo bueno es que si haces check in en Unilocal te dan un descuento :)
