Great practitioner. She is really smart and a really good diagnostician not to mention her excellent sense of humor. Her office isn’t that nice or clean looking but it’s passable. Staff is ok but sometimes difficult to get through to in the am. I never have had an issue getting a same day appointment when sick. It is much harder to get a well visit. She also usually refers out to decent specialists.

I moved to NYC a few months ago and as you can imagine, the hassle of starting over can be daunting. You have to look for a new everything.
Looking for a doctor in my area online, I saw the 1 review for Dr. Alison Amsterdam and decided to book my annual physical with her, and I am glad I did.
She was incredibly friendly and had a great bedside manner. I felt at easy right from the start. Very happy I have a new doctor now.
If you are in the same boat, and new to the area. Dr. Alison Amsterdam is a great doctor so go see her!

I needed a new internist after moving to New York and a friend recommended Dr. Alison Amsterdam at Manhattan Internal Medicine. Dr. Amsterdam is incredible – she’s extremely professional, friendly, and patiently answers all of my questions during appointments.
The office is conveniently located right by the 6 train and although the waiting room is small and a little loud (you’re seated right across from the receptionists), I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment and I’m always out of the office in about 30 – 40 min. Dr. Amsterdam always delivers my blood test results within a few days via an online patient portal and also communicates with patients directly via the portal so you can login and ask her questions without having to call the office.
She’s also helpful with referrals – actually calling me herself to provide me with the names and numbers of specialists to see. I highly recommend her if you need a new primary care physician!
