Not only was Fallon Lewis-​Holmes a consummate professional, from the first day I «moved in» to my small studio in Chelsea, and any and every time I needed anything, every time I saw her she had a smile on her face and lent a sympathetic ear when things in my life were a little crazy or shared a laugh.
Everyone else at this location did a terrific job but Fallon was outstanding and I would highly recommend Manhattan Mini Storage to anyone needing affordable storage with great service.

ASK FOR TIA — she’s SO friendly and Proffessional and personable! I came in a rush and experienced some obstacles that she was able to help me wth instantly. She was dedicated to get me together and set quickly in order to make my flight!
The customer service was incredible. I told her I had a flight soon and that I needed a storage unit quickly — she walked me through all the paper work and worked with me when I didn’t have an answer to one of the questions. She even lent my friend an umbrella so that we could start searching for a taxi while I packed the unit! She showed us to our unit very quickly — everything about this experience was A++++++
The place itself is clean and lots of carts are available for you to transport and carry your stuff.

I just had a fantastic experience at Manhattan mini storage. Three words: ask for Fallon!!! My roommate and I were extremely stressed about moving out of our apartment on really short notice. We also knew very little about storage units. Fallon was extremely patient and knowledgeable about the storage/​moving packages and helped us get a great deal!!! We had a ton of questions and she was able to answer each and every one.
Moving in NYC is never fun, but Fallon made the arrangement process so much easier and more pleasant than it’s ever been in the past. She definitely exceeded our expectations when it came to service!
The facilities are nice and easy to use. I’m so glad I called Manhatten Mini Storage before calling the movers!

Without prompting they jumped into action and reached out to locate a mover, even though we arrived without having booked one. They also resolved a storage dilemma in a pleasant and efficient manner.

They try to sell you «mandatory» insurance at the final step of the purchasing your lease agreement.
There’s nothing mandatory about it… it’s just bullshit.

Everything was great until Manhattan Mini Storage went into my back account and took out hundreds of dollars in early November when I was SPECIFICALLY told that I would not have to pay a single red penny until December AND given a hand written note indicating so.
When I called to inquire. the gal on the phone was nice but super clueless and very difficult to understand. Manhattan Mini Storage should train their employees better, honestly it would have been cheaper just to pay rent in the Manhattan apartment I was living in and keep my things there, versus all of the collective hidden fees that Manhattan Mini Storage surprises you with AFTER they have access to your bank account. Good thing I didn’t suggest this place to the hundreds (yes, hundreds) of colleagues and neighbors that I know and work with.

Working with Manhattan Mini Storage was an unexpectedly pleasant — and highly appreciated — experience!
Moving is never fun. No matter how much you plan (and we did plenty of that), something always goes wrong. And after most everything went wrong on our move from Boston to New York, we finally arrived to the storage unit about 6 hours off schedule… only to discover after putting most of our belongings that we had a unit that was just too small.
Thankfully, Donna James came to the rescue. Donna was pleasant, courteous, and extraordinarily helpful from the moment we arrived. When she found out we were newlywed grad students, she made sure we were able to get every available discount. When we discovered our unit was just too small, she found us another unit (just the right size so we wouldn’t have to pay more than we needed to) — and again made sure we could get the best deal available. Aside from the outstanding and fast customer service, she was simply a pleasant person to work with.
We have since closed our unit after finding an apartment, but I would highly recommend any Manhattan Mini Storage (have had friends with similarly good experiences) and would certainly recommend this particular location thanks to Donna’s great customer service.

The service at Manhattan Mini Storage was great. Kim McIntosh is the BEST! She was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. If you decide to use Manhattan Mini Storage make sure to ask for Kim McIntosh she will provided you with a smooth check in and check out.

They had a sign out that said «Storage as low as $ 29.00» which in Manhattan is too good to be true. And it is. It’s an outright lie. They have storage in «other locations» but the price I was quoted was $ 109.
No one should do business with a company so desperate and willing to scam people with their marketing.

Kim McIntosh is the best hands down. I would go out of my way to store here again if she is still around. Warm, thoughtful, & friendly. I’ll be back!

Great service at the Manhattan Mini Storage on 29^th Street on 11^th Avenue. 24 hour service. Always clean. No homeless people sleeping in their units (unlike the location near the South Street Seaport that mimics as a homeless shelter). My only complaint is that it gets a little hot in the summer months indoors. This location needs to invest in central air.
Otherwise, the service is excellent.

Kim is amazing! I rented a room from her at this location 3 years ago and she has been the most helpful, kind and compassionate customer service rep I have ever known. She has a huge heart and brings all of her love to her job and to each person she comes in contact with. Every time I’ve stopped by to move things in and out of my unit, I have felt completely taken care of. Manhattan mini storage wouldn’t be the same without her. I just closed out my storage unit and she went above and beyond to help make it a smooth transition. Thank you Kim! This location is open 24/​7, is clean, safe, and I would highly recommend.

Tonny Garcia is the man! I came in and talked with him about 4 times before I settled on a unit. He was gracious and patient the entire time and answered all my questions. He’s the best!

I’ve had a pleasant experience at the 17^th St location and this location was no exception. The unit was clean and spacious and my belongings were safely stored for the duration. At times the staff I’ve encountered seemed inconvenienced when I asked for help but moving out was pleasant. Tressan and Natasha were both helpful and friendly on the day of my move out. Thanks MHS!

This is my second time renting with this MMS, and the experience has been pretty pleasant. The new website made it easier to vacate than the old process of sending in the forms. Storage associate Tressan made things run smoothly. I’ve stored with MMS for about 10 years off and on, and this has been the better of my experiences.

9.13.2014 — So these ghetto thugs sued me!!! They sued me for a storage unit I don’t even own there. Apparently that’s the only way these morons can make any money. I’m going to court to defend my good name and after counter suing these idiots for harassment.
5.19.2014 — So I swore I was washing my hands of these idiots, but I just got a bill from them for June 1, 2014 — June 30, 2014, AKA they’re trying to charge me AGAIN for a storage unit I’m not using because THEY evicted me from my fully paid lease. It’s not even the same size I rented from them WHEN I rented from them. This harassment finally got so bad I just changed my credit card number so they couldn’t continue fraudulently charging me. I’ve posted a dated picture of the eviction letter and now I’m posting a screen shot of the new bill. They got pissed and evicted me for making a single complaint about this type of thing, and they continue doing it long after I quit being a customer. Save yourself a headache, go to Gotham Mini Storage. It costs a few more dollars, but I like to call that the non-​ghetto tax. It’s the additional cost of hiring someone who actually knows what they’re doing and isn’t going to treat you like YOU’RE an inconvenience for them while they talk on their «sail fone.»
The funniest part is that they actually are charging me a late fee for my non-​existent storage unit. It’ll be a cold day in hell before these crooks steal a single penny more from me.

The fools at Manhattan Mini Storage apparently flagged my previous review so I’ll try to be as appropriate when speaking about them as possible. First off, this place is terrible and somehow constantly smells of urine. Second, it’s run worse than the post office, and I assume, by the same pool of candidates. Third, the package reception services they tout are terrible, I’ve had packages randomly signed for and randomly rejected. Four, they are so rude, they evicted me after one complaint to them about how they were rejecting my packages. Finally, After all this, they won’t return my deposit, they evict me for asking for help and then they try to keep my deposit. Luckily, I paid with credit card and Chase is extremely good about handling fraudulent charges, like Manhattan Mini Storage makes otherwise I’d be up a real creek. I mean, to evict a person for non-​financial reasons and then try to keep their deposit is literally as ghetto as you can get.
This place is pure ghetto. I personally left and moved my stuff to Gotham Mini Storage. Not only are they located closer to the metro, but after speaking with them in their brand new building, I was so confident in their abilities that I paid upfront for a year. They’ll even put your packages into your storage unit if you want them to. I opted out of this, but appreciate the fact. They charge a little bit more than this place, but really, I’m fine paying for it as I like to call it a middle-​class tax. It means that you won’t have to deal with people that sound like they didn’t bother finishing high school and got their GED in ebonics. I understood like ¹⁄₅ words that were being said to me as I don’t speak like a cRapper.
I’m so confident in my judgement of this place, that I’ve posted a photo of the eviction notice to prove that I wasn’t evicted for not paying rent. Not only that, they only gave me 21 days and apparently waited to send my letter until a holiday so when I would have received it, had I not gone in to pick it up and move my stuff earlier, I would have only had a week. Apparently there’s a clause in your contract that says they can evict you for any reason. See ya later NYC tenant laws.
