Manhattan Shades

pardon the awful pun but these guys are mad shady! i scheduled a window measurement appointment with them last friday btw 10−12pm and they never came so i called them to see if the appointment was still on and I was told they didn’t have me scheduled. first strike! they asked me if i would like to reschedule and i let bygones be bygones and said sure so i rescheduled for that sunday btw 12−2pm. today is sunday and i just got a call telling me their driver has «car trouble» and they would have to reschedule. strike 2! my guess is due to their lousy customer service and horrible reliability that this company will not be in business for very much longer. get it together manhattan shades!!!

I don’t write reviews very often but I thought it may be helpful to share my experience. To be clear, this is not a review of Manhattan Shades’ products and/​or installation as I never had the opportunity to get that far. After the initial consultation about 6 weeks ago, I did not hear back from Manhattan Shades with a quote.
I set up my initial consultation with Jacob about 6 weeks ago. He arrived about an hour late, which wasn’t really a major issue at that point. Jacob was very knowledgeable, brought a lot of samples with him, and spent a lot of time with me to settle on treatments for my 2 bedroom apartment. At the end of the appointment he said he would be following up with a specific quote and that we could get started in short order.
After the appointment, we have never heard from Jacob. I followed up twice with no response. I can’t comment on the workmanship or quality since, unfortunately, I could never get off the ground.

i had a great experience with Manhattan Shades. I am at the tail end of a gut renovation, and these guys have been nothing short of fantastic.
My apartment has 13 LARGE windows and I also needed a skylight done (yes in the city — see my «Chelsea Hood» list). Manhattan Shades suggested the kinds of shades I needed (a combination of blackout and solar shades). I had a couple of my larger windows wired for electric and boy is it cool to use the remote for having my shades go up and down.
I priced out shades with other shade companies and prices came in much higher. I am in love with my shades, and the electric powered honey comb skylight came out nothing short of spectacular. These guys are super high quality at a reasonable price. Installation has been amazingly timely and the owner is even throwing in an extra battery powered electric shade for my hard to reach bathroom.
Awesome service and highly recommended.
