Love the new meat options but it’s not busy it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to grill up a tiny portion of shawarma. Fast casual it is not.

It’s now Maoz Grill And it’s better. Great variety, fresh ingredients at good portions . You still can eat vegi style, they have the options.

They serve meat now… gross. They even fry their fries in the same fryer as beef. So goddamn stupid.

I love the food maoz provides, but I just experienced the worst service ever at this location. I went here Dec 4 at 4:30. The place is empty and it took over 20 minutes to get a half falafel sandwich. They asked if I was waiting for one, and I said«yes on wheat» and two minutes later they gave me the sandwich on white. That’s a long time to wait for the wrong sandwich in an empty place. They clearly just forgot I ordered it. Unfriendly, unapologetic. Not sure why these people got hired, since I overheard the two girls messing up the order next to me too. Not coming back to this location, due to bad service.

To me this place has amazing falafels bc of the toppings bar… I like the fact that you can literally add whatever toppings you like and as much as you want without additional charge. The toppings range from chickpea salad to seasoned cauliflower, tubuli, peppers, etc… Prices are good and the sauces are nice. I usually get the half pita which is just enough food for $ 5.00.

Great vegetarian food. Prepared very fast while you wait. A little dumpy but you are hear for the food. great veggie bar to go along with your falafel. Shawarma is also good.

This is a quick place to get falafel in a pita or a salad for lunch. Everything is good. There are lots of topping options. Unfortunately they don’t have my favorite topping of beets. But still a great place if you like falafel or are vegetarian.

Absolutely love at first bite. Craving falafel on a Saturday and my usual go to place(a lil place on 72nd street) was closed, so came here for the first time. Suffice it say this will be my go to place for several reasons. 1. Salad bar was quite extensive and all items were super fresh including the grilled cauliflower and broccoli florets 2. Little containers u can fill with all different sauces. I got 3 and loved 2. The garlic sauce, yum. And the yogurt sauce. 3. My falafel sandwich was to go and instead of giving me a flimsy bowl that gets soaked with the salad bar items they give you a solid plastic container with lid. Awesome! 4. Very affordable as compared to other shops.

First got turned on to Maoz In London some years back and became a fan. Glad they are entering the US market now as well. Fresh, tasty, quick, healthy, reasonably priced food served in a bright, clean setting. Still a fan!

Best kosher vegan Mediterranean restaurant on Broadway. It’s affordable, good service, they have a lot of options and they are dairy free. I believe they are gluten free too. They aren’t too spicy. You can prepare you dish the way you want it to be. Highly recommend.

Everything looks and tastes great at this Israeli falafel\shcwarma stand. It would be nice if they clean the counters better though. I’d prefer to eat with firearms resting. Yuck.

Maoz tossed me $ 2 LevelUp credit so I figured post-5pm on Macaron Day en route to Rita’s for a free ice was a good time to infuse some savory into the evening’s menu. Though they took longer to emerge than any order of fries I’ve ever had, their Belgian fries for an annoyingly pried $ 3.54 were surprisingly pretty solid, even if they ineptly packed them in their awful paper bags. Transaction Amount $ 3.54 Credit Applied — $ 2.00 Total Spent $ 1.54

Thank you, Maoz, you’ve saved me again this year from that terrible feeling of gluttony during travel and not enough veggies! If you crave those green and colorful things called vegetables when you’re on a NYC vacay, salad bars with raw veggies are not your only options! Maoz has a pretty good variety of cooked vegetarian offerings, from pickled eggplants to tabouli, and sauces like spicy cilantro and sriracha. Hummus is extra though, sadly~ My favorite is the roasted cauliflower and broccoli– just a bit salty, but da bomb: D If you need those carbs, you can put everything in a pita! Maoz is the best option for your dose veggies for a very reasonable price(~$ 8 for a big salad bowl, ~$ 6 for a pita sandwich with falafel). They have great to-go containers, otherwise it’s communal seating!

Vegan-friendly, fast, and affordable. You have salad bar options as well. They have tables to eat in, but the last time I was there, there was no restroom to wash your hands. If you want to trust in Purell conquering whatever is on your subway pole coated hands before eating falafel with messy tahini, good luck. The food is always good, but you may have an issue or two when it comes to customer service. You may want to let them know while placing your order that you would like to utilize the ingredients bar.

Maoz is a good, healthy alternative«fast food» joint. I usually go for the salad with falafel and pile on the toppings from the salad bar. Get as much as you can during the first go around because apparently it’s the only chance you get. Made the decision to try their vegan rice pudding one time. perhaps I had too high of expectations, but it was rather disappointing. This location is rarely busy during the evenings, which is usually when I stop in. I would imagine this place picks up during lunchtime.

These Maozeses are all over the city. This one is the review for da one on da UWS right at the crotch(you have a dirty mind, look it up in the dictionary) of Broadway and Amsterdam between 70th and 71st. Outside there was some sort of druggy hipster film shooting of a movie/show/documentary. Why I tell you this, I don’t know, but you’re reading it. The actors were pretty strung out, and I mean like strung out between takes, and there were different takes. Was this method acting? Getting strung out for a shoot? Inbetween takes the actors and film crew would take free samples of falafel provided by the good people at Maoz, who periodically stand outside with toothpick samples and some dippin sauce. Inside, I was eating with a friend at the window watching the whole thing: pedestrians walking by and doing that stutter walk OOPS I JUSTWALKEDINTO A SCENE, or pedestrians tapping the actors on the shoulder to admonish them for being so strung out and dramatic on the sidewalk(not knowing they were actors), and watching the actors stagger up to the window of Maoz and store of stare blankly through the pane, teetering on their awful, strung out balance. The food? Pretty damn good. I got a falafel pita with hummus and a side of «Belgian» fries. The fries were totally American steak cut. Whatever. They also have a lot of sides and toppings that are all healthy and good tasting and go here or to any of the other godzillion Maoz locations!

OK, I have to catch up on my Unilocal reviews from NYC before I head back! I’m just looking out for my Vegetarian Unilocal peeps, especially those of you San Franciscans traveling to the East Side! This place is stanky to me. It’s like fast food vegetarian — and even worse– in a dirty-ass restaurant. It was the middle of summer(yes, I’m late), I was walking down the street to my hotel, I spotted a vegetarian spot, and thought, BINGO. I can get a nice meal in before I head to yoga. So I ordered the falafel sandwich and I was so afraid to eat it in such a nasty environment. That said, it’s very much«fast food». Packets of condiments, nothing tastes fresh — kinda like a vegetarian McDonalds. That said, if you’re looking for a healthy meal on the go, this is NOT the place. Sorry to burst your bubble. In concept, I love it. In execution, hated it :(

I was in the area and I stumbled across this delightful lunch spot. I’ve been craving a falafel sandwich so it was a no-brainer to give it a try. The prices here are very affordable and the combos will run you under $ 10. I opted for the for the sweet potato fries being that I’m not a huge fan of french fries which came with the falafel sandwich and a drink . My sandwich included eggplant which gave it an interesting taste, i will probably leave out the eggplant next time. But all in all the sandwich was pretty good, i loaded it up with veggie toppings… the cilantro sauce is amazing . Healthy fast food, I’m a fan.

I’m a fan of Maoz Vegetarian. I like that you can order the falafel sandwich and put on your choice of toppings. I just load it up with the chickpea salad because it’s so good. Then I drench it with the garlic sauce which eliminates any of the«healthy» benefits of eating vegetarian. The result is just an amazing, filling sandwich that I eat heartily and causes the other people sitting on the benches near me to stare at me with disgust. I don’t care if it’s messy, the garlic sauce and little chickpeas that come popping out of my pita are just so good. And yes I will pick up the pieces that spilled out and eat it with my fingers later. Anyway, Maoz has a few locations and if you’ve been to one, you’ve been to them all. This location is fairly clean and they frequently tidy up the salad bar. I didn’t think the drinks were worth it — a bit price for what they are and bland.
