Mudville 9

Their wings were regualr hot wings. They were nothing special. Everyone in my party ordered a differnt type of hot wings but she mixed them up. We were not able to tell because they all looked the same. The waitress had an attitude and took too long to come with our check. The french fries were thin and fried hard although the description said hand cut fries.

Wonderful little spot in the city that serves excellent wings and has an impressive selection of craft beers. Loved it! It’s a small place but I like that you don’t get swallowed up in the mix and treated like cattle. The place has a more intimate feeling and affords a more personal experience. The wait staff was extremely professional, helpful and kind.

Solid spot for good wings, cooked to order, and lots of sauce options. They have lunch specials and a pretty big bar space. Servers were friendly and responsive. Since my office is nearby, I’m bookmarking it for wings/​bar food and decent prices.

If you plan to eat Mudville’s food, you better do it in the actual location. When you place an order online, the food delivered is not on par with what they serve at the location. I usually order baby back ribs and the delivered one is either not well done or overdone. Same with fries and the wings. never could figure and mentioned that couple of time to them. However, if you’re in the area you could try and see if you’re lucky at that day.

Food okay but drinks overpriced. Charged me $ 3.00 for ice (whisky rocks) yea right…

I have loved Mudville for years! Best wings around, huge ever-​changing beer menu, great people. Never disappoints!

This used to be a favorite spot for my friends, but they stopped doing to all you can eat wings/​all you can drink beer deal. Also, management has become aggressively rude. When charged for items no one ordered, they refused to admit their mistake. I eventually had to get my credit card company to reverse a portion of the charge, which is unbelievable!
I read a lot of negative reviews about the waitstaff, but I always thought they were really friendly. They’re definitely understaffed (again — an issue with management), but they do the best they can given the less than ideal circumstances.
Bottom line — none of us will ever be back. It’s sad because we have so many good memories from the place. However, this is NYC so it’s not like we’re wanting for other options.

Kind of boring. Bartender couldn’t be bothered. Don’t think I’ll return.

I came here with a single purpose in mind. Have their wings. Wings are sacred to me. They are a bar’s staple and something I expect every bar to take seriously and put their best foot forward.
Wings here? Terrible! They were dry not the most flavorful buffalo sauce, not meaty. Not sure who and why someone thought this is a good place in the reviews online. An utter and sheer disappointment. Will be returning here never.

It’s a shame when the food isn’t actually half bad but the customer service makes you want to not return.
Let’s start with the bad:
Waitresses were horrible as it took them over ten minutes just to bring us a glasses of water and when asked about it, she immediately denied she took long. Waitress never came back to apologize or even admit wrongdoing
The good?
The manager was cool enough to address the issue and gave us a small price off for their service. The burgers were pretty good, the patty was juicy and the bacon was off the charts. The fries remind me of Popeyes fries so the fries aren’t anything out of the world. Overall the burger and fries were good enough for someone to give it a try.

We came at 3 on a Sunday when it was empty. To begin we ordered ten wings with two different sauces. She made us pay $ 2 more to get two sauces because she said we had to order two orders of five wings. One of the sauces we ordered was honey BBQ, but it tasted and looked like sweet and sour. Also, our cold wings came after our wraps. One of the wraps we ordered was buffalo chicken wrap. It had a lot of vegetables, like corn, but didn’t resemble a buffalo chicken wrap. It had blue cheese on the side. I ordered a Greek wrap. It was good. We both agreed that the fries were our favorite part. Also, my soda had a big red glob in it that we couldn’t identify. She did replace the soda but kept it on the bill. With so many options to dine, we don’t plan to return.

Service here was painfully slow. We were attended to by two waitresses, one who was nice and eager, but would disappear for long stretches of time, and the other who looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but working at Mudville 9. I’m not kidding when I say that the only time I felt they were attentive was to deliver the check and to collect the payment/​tip.
With regards to the food, the smokey barbecue wings were very good and my favorite part of the meal. The IronMan burger was very middle of the road and the pulled pork was tender and juicy. All in all, while I don’t know the food options too well in that area, I would imagine there are much better options to dine at, if only for the quality of the service.

Went here last night after a great workout and as soon as my friend and I walked in the door the bad experience started.
We asked a waitress for a table, she walked over to a table in acorn ear, put down to forks and napkins and beckoned us over. The corner table wasn’t the problem since the place was packed.
After being seated, the waitress walked off, didn’t even introduce herself. She finally came back to our table 10 — 15 minutes later with two menus and two small glasses of water and proceeded to hover over us so she could take our order. She finally asked if we would like something to drink, me a white Zinfandel and my friend a beer.
Again we had to wait another 10 minutes to get that and when she finally came back she place my glass and my friends beer on the table. The beer came unopened with no glass which quickly aggravated my friend. This waitress actually served the table beside us and brought the glasses with their beer. We looked at each other like WTF. FED up my friend had to go to the bar to have her beer opened and get a glass and when she complained the bartender has the nerve to tell her it’s not a big deal, REALLY.
We ordered but after that incident we were going to just pay for the drinks and when we wasted for the check for the drinks the food miraculously came so instead of taking it to go we chucked it up and stayed.
The ribs I had were good but the chicken was overlooked and dry and the cheese fries were limp and the cheese tasted like Cheez Wiz. My frinds food was okay
This waitress all of a sudden started to act nicer asking us if everything was ok but the damage was done. We ate, paid the bill and left her a $ 7 tip which was more than sufficient.
Don’t get me wrong I tip well but not when I really bad service.
I will not be returning to Mudville 9 and I won’t recommend it to any of my friends.

The food at Mudville is very good and I give the chefs 4 stars! however my waitress for the evening could use a little help. I try to avoid racial disparity on Unilocal as much as possible because I regularly encounter, know and love some really great people! But then there’s that one… Ugghhh. I watched my waitress Meagan approach every table around me, including the ones that sat after my table. I find it quite interesting that one week I can be the only African American person in my group and our service was great, fast forward to when there are no white people in my group and the service is shitty.
I must say it was a different waitress but in business you take ownership for everyone’s actions. Training needs to be had on customer service for dealing with people of different backgrounds. Ummm Hello it’s NYC — one of the most diverse place in the world get it together.
I may be black but my money is green and I’ll spend it where it’s welcome.

I have been ordering wings (bone in and boneless) from here for years. This is an explanation of why I am stopping and not going back:
1. They seem to have raised prices. Is there any reason it should cost $ 22 plus tax and tip for 20 tiny/​mostly breading boneless wings (basically 1 serving for a grown man)? All in over $ 30 for some wings is a little much no?
2. They are now mostly fried breading with very little meat. See attached picture. This is gross. If you are going to charge so much, please don’t make it all gross breading. There was SO little meat this time, I am revolted. It was not always like this.
3. They did not close the lid on the container before delivery this last time. Result is buffalo sauce all over the bag, everywhere. Gross.
4. They have messed up my orders multiple times in the past. I let it slide before but it’s still going on my list…
All this said, they do a great buffalo sauce– but it isn’t good enough to make up for the above.

After a long time of eating healthy foods I decided to cheat on my lifestyle for a day. I was pleased with my experience here. Although I did not drink the rustic bar did look very cool. There was a huge crowd near the bar area.
Pros–
–Reasonable prices
–Great food cooked the way you ask for! Burger was very juicy and the toppings on the burger do come on the side.
–Fries were crispy and seasoned.
–Portions are pretty big depending on what you order.
–Wings were pretty darn good!
–A lot of throw back 90’s and early 2000 music which was pleasant to listen to while we barely waited too long for our food.
–Waitress was very hospitable and didn’t even need to write down my long orders!
Cons–
–Pretty small
–A bit noisy
–Tables seemed cramped
I do recommend this place. It will fill you up and food is good. I will go back sometime in the near future!

Four Stars
We came here to watch the UCLA v USC NCAAF Game. We sat at the bar and the nice barwoman put the game on for us. The place wasn’t crowded but still had a good energy. We sat with some other fellow UCLA supporters who popped in for a drink during the first and last quarters (they were suppose to be at an engagement party at Tiny’s but they had other priorities. I drank the Founders Red Rye and had the California Burger cooked medium. The Bun was slightly sweet and best part of the dish. The Patty was cooked medium and tasted good. The Avocado was plentiful but not quite ripe. The lettuce was fine, there was only one tomato slice, but the pickles were briny, crunchy, and delicious. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and price made this bar a great place to watch the game.
Next Time: All you can eat wings *I just need 5 friends to do it with.

I like to start off by saying, I am not into bars whatsoever and have probably only been to a handful in my lifetime. With that bring said, I would like to credit Mudville for getting me through my first two years of college.
I believe my first three semesters of school, I had a Friday night class which ended at 9 and on most Fridays, A few classmates and I would go straight to Mudville! It’s the typical bar, typical bar food, the customer service was great and the finger foods were good. My review is probably more based on the fact that they provided me much needed relief after a long day of work and class, but what the hay!
