Great menu with a nice pre-fixe option. We ordered the pork belly/scallop appetizer and roasted duck appetizers and the pork chop and steak entrees; all delicious. Dessert was okay, but we were so full(oh, the bread…) that I can’t comment too much, because we barely touched it. I did take my bread pudding to go for breakfast the morning.

Not bad — but could be better. And they ran out of steak. On a Tuesday night. In Midtown. REALLY??? 12 Hungry business people ready to eat after a long day at the trade show. Were seated quickly and the staff was nice enough to fit a few stragglers. Started with a variety of appetizers — couple of cheese platters, crab cakes, pork taquitos, truffle fries, tuna tataki — a variety for the table. Most were fine but the taquitos were way too dry as were the crab cakes. On to a variety of main courses — and after the selections were made the manager came out and let the group know — no more steak. Or at least not enough to complete all the orders. Kind of awkward finding other dishes and trading meals among the group. When everything did arrive — good portions and everyone seemed to enjoy. Courteous and capable staff — out server made sure we were taken care of. Nice space if a bit noisy and good location half block up from Times Square.

This is the first place my wife and I went for a nice dinner on our honeymoon in NYC. Maaaaaan, it was a good experience. The service was prompt but not rushed, the ambience was nice, and the drinks were strong and traditionally mixed. And the FOOD. Bruh, the food was great. The Kobe Beef sliders rivaled our wedding night. When our server overheard us talking about our recent wedding, they brought out a couple glasses of complimentary champagne. Definitely on of the best experiences I’ve had in NYC. Nios gets the Yung Unilocal God seal of approval.

Good food, chill atmosphere, go with friends so that you can share a bunch of their small plates. The tea smoked duck dish was really good, and for mains the roast chicken was actually our favorite, was moist and tasty. Solid cocktails, and a nice wine list with some reasonably priced wines.

We only came in here because we were staying at the Muse next door(great hotel with an amazing staff) and they gave me a card for free drinks and dessert for my bday. Server was very clearly having a bad day or irritated that we were there for the freebies. I suppose he could have thought I wasn’t going tip since the desert was free. Whatever his reason, he didn’t make us feel all that welcome.

Checked this place out with two other persons. We ordered from their small plates menu and most items came in threes so that was convenient. We ordered the truffle fries, the tuna tataki, the lam Kabob, and the Kobe beef sliders. Both the food and the service were good. Unfortunately the apple tart tartin for dessert was still frozen in some parts. The waiter comped that and another item.

Went there for breakfast… so good. I had the«create your own» omelette, 3 items and a nice portion size. Not overly large. My toast was burnt though. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. Only thing I wanted was a napkin or saucer for my spoon, don’t like to reuse my spoon after it has sat on a table. Definitely would like to try dinner.

The restaurant is located in the muse hotel. The décor is intimate, classy, and trendy. The bathrooms were spectacular! Each one were named something different such as «passion, envy, macho. Etc,» and the inside of them were all different. It’s little details like that, that stick with people. The food at Nios was spectacular. Good portions, great vibes … And great staff, especially the hostess Kayla !

Fun, clean, dark, quiet place to grab a drink and a bite. The bartender was entertaining and helpful. He told us some fun stories of patrons and fun visitors of the hotel. Gave us a great suggestion for a late night drinks. The Annie Hall was garnished with lemon peel and it was just perfect! Had some truffle popcorn. Was yummy and anyone who loves truffles would love this bar treat. The grilled cheese was a delicious bun bread with melted cheeses(never had brie in a grilled cheese– yum!) and arugula and prosciutto. It was delicious! Comes with a small arugula salad. Didn’t eat any of it because the sandwich was so much but it looked really good. Come, relax away from the tourist, grab a drink, and eat a bite.

An elegant/posh eatery situated in a hotel in the Theater District offering numerous small dishes among others and cocktails named after movies made in NYC(Annie Hall, Sweet Smell of Success, Mighty Aphrodite, etc.). Service was(too) fast but not very well-coordinated. We ordered some small dishes along with some desserts, thinking that they would serve the desserts after we finished with the saltier small dishes. However, they simply brought everything at once, making it not so pleasant to eat fried chili peppers along with bread pudding with ice cream. The small dishes were hits-and-misses. Hits: truffle fries(so good that we got two orders of it), tuna tataki, dates with goat cheese/proscuitto Misses: baby octopus(overcooked), oysters(wasabi was a bad idea), shishito poppers(too spicy), lump crab cake(too soft for crab cake but flavors were ok) Perhaps because we got our two desserts, bread pudding and sticky toffee pudding, at the same time with our small dishes, we couldn’t really enjoy them as much. They weren’t bad but weren’t spectacular either. Like the small dishes, the NYC-inspired concoctions were also hits and misses, but that probably depends one’s personal preference like ouzo is a no-no for me but a yes-yes for others?

GREAT place for a drink, given its location in noisy/lousy Times Square. It’s quiet and cozy, and has a great liquor selection. Small plates were diverse with grilled octopus, truffle fries, different cheeses and charcuterie to name a few. I was so glad to have stumbled across this place after a stressful day at work… Fearing that I’d end up in one of the numerous tourist-packed Irish pubs in the area. This is a great pre-/post-theater place to keep in mind.

Came here for holiday drinks with my company. It’s a nice hotel lounge but nothing special. Nice long bar with a modern décor. It would be a good place to host a party although I’m not sure what the cost would be. The food that was served was not very good, sliders were decent at best. Bartender was friendly.

We made a reservation earlier in the day on Open Table to get dinner before the show. When we got there, they told us the place was closed for a private event. Disappointment that they didn’t update their profile to prevent our waste of time going over there. Place looked cute though.

I returned to NYC and specifically sought Nios for pre-Broadway food and drinks. The staff is amazing and the food is great. Visited with different people both times and we all enjoyed it throughly. I would consider staying at the attached hotel to make commutes between shows faster next time.

The food here is «okay» … It’s a little too ‘uppidy’ w/no cause’ … Kinda fru-fru. Okay so the seasonal soup was good but it needed seasoning and the fries were good but a little too much truffle oil. Speaking of truffle oil I think they really over-used this ingredient on almost every dish. The lamb dish was cooked flawlessly; lamb really was the best thing we had and the gnocchi with the lamb dish tasted great as well but there were some parts of this dish that were unnecessary(aka more truffle oil). As a heads up do not order their ravioli dish. The deserts are decent. Really, the three stars are almost 100% because of the lamb

Wonderful service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and provided helpful suggestions. I had been here four years ago and remembered having a good experience. The one drawback is that it can get very drafty so bring a sweater on cold nights. I decided on the $ 483-course pre-fix. Started with the Tuna Tataki-4 pieces of sushi style tuna. It was fresh and very good, however the tuna lacked a bit of flavor. Next up was Roasted Chicken stuffed w/chorizo and with a brioche stuffing and sweet potato purée. Chicken was cooked to perfection. It was a lot of food, about a ¼ chicken and oh so good. For dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. Come here with an appetite because its a lot of food. Overall a very good experience and good food.

Make it another old fashioned, please. And another, and another. Or so I heard in my liquor soaked brain moments after my first contact with this ur-cocktail of mad men, artfully crafted(with explanation) by the bartender at Nios. Nios is the Muse hotel bar/restaurant in midtown and from what I heard, is in need of people like me to stop by after work, drink and even dine. You can do all that and have an amazing bathroom experience, entering private stalls with names such as Envy, Passion, Rebel and Macho. These stalls were larger than some Manhattan apartments(I only slightly exaggerate) The feel of the place is relaxed and sophisticated. The relaxed part is likely due to many patrons being out of towners who wander down from their hotel room to see what’s happening. The sophisticated part is thanks to the cocktail menu, long bar, dim lighting and classic big band jazz sound emanating from the speakers.(Is that all that’s necessary for sophistication these days?) My first drink, the sidecar, was strong but not to the point of flooring me, which was good since I wanted to try more. The bartender was happy to put together a pomegranate martini for my wife and that too, was good. The TVs by the bar were tuned to AMC and playing an old Steve McQueen Western movie. Ok, that’s definitely different. And the projection screen of a fiery log could probably be put back in storage. Minor criticisms aside, Nios has a very friendly staff that was eager to please. Besides the bar there are a few tables set aside for dinner and then an entirely separate room for that purpose. The dinner menu includes a $ 39 prix-fixe but what caught my eye was the bar menu’s inclusion of… poutine! So we skipped the prix-fixe, ordered poutine and plantain chips for an appetizer and then moved on to entrees. The bar menu also includes charcuterie plates for those into cured meats. Our poutine was delicious, perhaps not entirely %100 authentic but still included the essential gravy and cheese.(Curds were missing) Plantain chips were also tasty, thinly sliced, crispy and perfect for dipping. Entrée choices included pork chops, several pasta dishes and other beef/chicken options. My pasta was artfully presented and consumed. The bolognese sauce wasn’t too meat-heavy which was fine by me at that point. Dessert deserves mention as the chocolate cake came with two dollops of peanut butter, topped with whipped cream. It works. Swirling together the PB, whipped cream and chocolate cake led to something utterly ethereal and wonderful. I must try that at home! Nios is definitely worth a try in the midtown area for a pre-theater drink, dinner or after work cocktail. I don’t want to lose this place and see it shuttered, so go forth an drink!
