Nocciola Pizzeria e Trattoria

Just ordered. The dough is so thin that the cheese doesn’t hold and falls off before you even take it out of the box. Very sloppy. Not fun to eat. There are other choices in the neighborhood. I suggest going to another that actually knows how to make decent pizza. I will be. Very disappointed

What a let down from the Nocciola on 116. The service was terrible. The wine list did not exist. They offered me Sutter Home Cabernet ! Where are the Italian wines? The décor felt like it was done halfway but felt very cold and sterile. These guys own El Paso and the first Nocciola and I expect much much better. We were the only people there and the waitress barely came over. Service was incredibly slow. We ordered fried calamari and they were out of it! I think they don’t know whether they want to be takeaway or eat in and they are stuck. But it was Saturday night at 7pm and no one else was there. I think they have to hire people who know how to serve, add a wine list, warm up the décor and environment and they might have a shot. But I fear because it’s Harlem they think the standard is lower or something. It’s not!

Sub par pizza, and combos have silly limitations on them. Customer service is lacking. Miss the old place that was there before them.

Had the magherita which was awesome and the Alfredo slice which was decent. I hope they bring out a shrimp slice like there predecessors

Amazing! Try the carbonara pizza and the trifolati pizza!

Just had my first slice here (margarita pizza) and it was DELICIOUS — I’ll be back for more!

They are off to a really great start.
Restaurant décor feels like authentic Italian pizza spot. Stone oven, red stripe against white walls. It’s like old world meets euro sterile chic. It works.’ It’s a lovely spot which will be superb during the summer when the patio opens.
We ordered a Cesar salad. They casualified their Cesar by chopping it and adding whole square croutons rather than croûton dust like their original restaurant. The dressing also seems thicker. I prefer the original Cesar as it is really special and texturally way better. The croutons are too hard here.
We ordered a Margarita with pepperoni and a Carbonara pizza.
The margarita took 25 min. I think the oven was having issues because by the time we got it, it was cardboard. Good flavor. Super hard. All the ingredients were quality I just think all the life got baked out of it.
The carbonara was also super tardy to the party. We took most of it to go. It had a creamy sauce and was basically a carbonara sans pasta on a pizza.
We had a slice then but the truly miraculous thing was that the pizza got better and better every time I ate it. Room temp at home — delicious. Next morning for breakfast — outstanding. Reheated for lunch -‘life altering. It really is extraordinary.
They gave us a discount because of the wait which we appreciated it. I trust they will iron out the kinks.
Nocciola: Pasta –Pizza– whatever they decide to be is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
They do need to work on the service. We are not in Europe or Mexico. People get road rage when they have to wait. Also, maybe I’m a product of the Great Depression but I really need an abundance of food. Nocciola is great for a date but they should watch the price for takeout. Not everyone wants to spend $ 32 for delivery for one.

We’ve had delivery from the original Nocciola at 116^th street so we were very excited to hear that they were opening a new location much closer to us! The other day we were walking by and happened to see that they were actually open so we stopped in for a weekend lunch yesterday, and I am very glad that we did! We were a little unsure what to expect as the menu was a little different from the original location and was more pizzeria focused, but the meal was great and definitely exceeded my expectations.
/​/​Environment: I think they may not have officially launched yet? Their website still has it marked as «coming soon» so I think they may have soft-​launched perhaps? Not sure. It did seem a bit like they were still getting ready but that may be because they just opened. There weren’t many people when we arrived but there was a steady stream of delivery/​take-​out. Anyway the place was nice, very pizzeria-​y with nice wooden tables and chairs and some great old school music playing at a reasonable volume!
/​/​Service: Everyone was very friendly and attentive! They were great about explaining menu options and also just seemed very excited about the restaurant, which is always nice. Food came out quickly (but not too quickly) and service was prompt.
/​/​Food: We ordered garlic knots, shrimp scampi and a sausage & peppers 14″ pizza. The garlic knots were pretty different from knots I’ve had at other pizza places, in that they were crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft and pillowy on the inside. The marinara that came with the knots was also really really good, I literally scooped out the rest with my knife after the knots were gone.
Shrimp scampi was on point. Pasta (linguine) cooked perfectly, sauce was a perfect balance of garlic/​butter/​lemon, and everything was seasoned well. Shrimp were a bit small but I didn’t mind much. Portion size was great, especially for the price!
Sausage & peppers pizza was so so good. It honestly didn’t look like much when it came out, but we all really enjoyed the crust and toppings. It was flavorful and cooked to a perfect balance of crisp outside and soft inside. I only wish that there were a bit more of the topping (Italian sausage is my favorite).
Anyway, very glad that they opened up so close by! We will definitely be coming back and we are glad to finally have a go-​to pizza place :) Definitely lives up to the Nocciola name!
