I stayed at W Hotel. I went there on my first day for coffee, and the services was great. I went there again tonight for a Bloody Mary, and the bartender was horrible — RUDE and she made the worst Bloody Mary. She only put tomato juice with no other seasoning, and I had to ask for the olive, wtf? Please fire her before she ruins your reputation.

Calling this place a bar is a bit of a misnomer. This is just a hotel lobby. Yes, there is a «bar» off to the corner where you can order a drink or something. But really, it’s just a hotel lobby. Nothing wrong with that. Good place to chat if you’re staying at the hotel, but don’t go out of your way for it.

This is the bar at the trendy W hotel. I was there on a Monday evening(no, I am not an alcoholic) along with some others and was surprised that they were reasonably busy. Good mix of yuppies and older business folks. The set up was modern and chic and I like the lighting. The waitress was ditzy and I had to ask her 3 times for nuts. The food was pretty good, the buffalo chicken rolls were my favorite. I also got to run an experiment here. I read that the best way to get the attention of the bar tender is to look relaxed and smile instead of trying to desperately flag them down. And… it works!

The only reason one should go here is if you are actually staying at the W and you are needing a drink before you go out or after you have gone out. I relucantly met a friend here on a Saturday night as we wanted to catch up over a cocktail while still ensuring we had a place to sit. Well we got our place to sit and our cocktail but in an environment with the most random individuals ever. There was a mix of slutty bridge and tunnel, sporting their shortest and tightest, a mix of married couples from out of town feelin the hip vibe of the city in this chic hotel(or so they thought), the dude on the D train who can’t seem to keep his pants up passed his ass, the guy who wears his polar fleece from Old Navy in colbat blue with jeans from Sears and well me, your regular gay who obviously didn’t belong. Long story short– it is new york, many other places to go to for an expensive cocktail with itunes top 40 dance hits. No need to go unless, again, you are staying here!

Off the W Hotel lobby. Hot hot late night bar scene. Great(did I mention hot?) Amazonian DJ, and a bartender who knows his craft.

This place is Hot in style, people, & look! I personally like the terrace lounge overlooking the main floor cause it’s a lot more intimate & on the way to the Hot(did I already say that?) bathrooms… yes the bathrooms are Hot! I’ve just always had a really good time here whether it be a duo or orgy. Drinks are pretty good, the floating waitresses are accommodating when you get’em, And if memory serves me correct their may even be still a big chess board on some of the tables on the terrace overlook area. I love the grass that lines everything down to the spiral staircase joining both floors. I have to admit thought that once in a blue moon the crowd can look a bit questionable in a bridge & tunnel sorta way, or a 40⁄40 club sorta way too… if you know what I mean. Personally when who I’m their with goes to the bathroom and/or im bored I like to look down off the terrace down onto all the nice legs circling the seating area for wealthy euro trash down below. It’s a Hot place but understated enough that it doesn’t really enter the lounge/club of lounges… theirs no dirty hanky panky and base thumping crap going on here-remember it doubles as a hotel lobby… its just very sleek & sexy both in design & people.

This is a nice, well-lit and comfortable hotel lounge, great place to hang out with friends. Cocktails are just ok, but the ambiance makes up for it.

I actually like this bar, the interior is relaxed and«hip,» the music is on at a good volume, the chairs are pretty comfortable, and the food is pretty good with drinks after work. I love the color blue, I guess it’s natural that I’m drawn to the whole oasis theme… But i think it’s time they think about re-doing the place b/c the furniture is looking pretty old lately.

I wasn’t that impressed with the bar here. The lounge area was pretty but some of the couches were not very comfortable(i.e. low with no back rests). We came down to the lobby for a few drinks and appetizers before going out. It took a long time to get our appetizers, and I didn’t finish my drink because it was gross. The sexy fries were damn good(better be for the price we paid for them!) but the kobe slider was just meh. My cousin had the hummus sampler, and she wasn’t that impressed.

Bar with fabric chairs and ottomans as seats. You enter Oasis through the main doors of the W hotel and the entire area is located to the right of the check-in lobby. We had two sections in front of the fire place reserved for us. And our waitress immediately served us. I had the mojito which was pretty good but light. My coworkers had various cocktails(manhattan, jack and coke, etc). We also ordered various items from the menu — Pizza, Quesedillas, Crab cakes, Sexy Fries and Dumplings. The Pizza was the best appetizer out of the entire menu. Crab cakes were so-so, felt that something was missing and the Sexy fries were just fries, no curliness to them but a good garlic seasoning. The dumplings were also not a hit, the flavor seemed a bit bland. Other clientle in the bar were mostly midtown workers in business casual attire and the dribs and drabs of the European tourists. Their restrooms are located on the second floor. I give it three stars because the food was nothing special, mostly frozen food heated up that was a tad dry. The décor of the bar was okay but nothing that stood out from the other bars in the city. I felt like they were trying hard to be another faddish bar/lounge in the city.

Oasis Bar is the bar inside the W New York. It is set in a spacious area with lots of couches and chairs to lounge on. While there is a large open area overhead which allows a huge two story screen to display abstract projections, the bar is very dark. On a Monday night, Oasis was packed… probably a combination of the after work crowd and anyone staying in the hotel/conferences. I did see a lot of suits!
