Tried the«Taco de Carnitas» TWICE already. They were DELISH ! Fair prices(just for the tacos, and chips etc.) As for location… It’ is why I love it.

Excellent filet mignon tacos — best ever !!! and talk about the low, low price — unheard of in NYC — pleasantly surprised; good vibe, good music, good place on way home on the weekday … absolutely recommend — did I mention the views??? Beautiful :)

I got the brisket taco. It was ok, nothing spectacular. All the flavor was crowed out by the medium hot sauce I regretfully chose. And although the food was mediocre, the service was worse. The two women behind the counter didn’t know which order to make in what order, had frequent miscommunication, and I ended up waiting 5 minutes for one of them to pull the greasy meat out of a stainless steel container, put in a taco shell, and hand it to me. There is better $ 3 food out there.

After a day of playing basketball in the Financial District with a buddy of mine, I decided to go for a walk along South Street on my way back home. I was famished and looking for some quick eats before jumping on the subway and I thankfully stumbled on Oaxaca Wahaka(Express) on South Street. The mexican grill has a beautiful view of the East River and plenty of seating outside. I walked up to the outdoor counter and ordered the full gamut of their tacos — i.e.(i) tacos de pecho(shredded beef brisket),(ii) tacos de carnitas(pulled pork),(iii) taco de pollo asado(grilled chicken), and(iv) taco de carne asada(filet mignon) along with a cold draft beer to wash it all down. Each of the soft tacos runs about $ 3 and they were all delicious. Check it out next time you’re in FiDi and strolling along the East River on a sunny day. You won’t regret it.
