P.S. 28 Wright Brothers School

I volunteered as Site Captain for NY Cares Day here on October 18. 60 volunteers and 3 Team Leaders participated in this event from 9:30am-3:30pm to clean up the school. This entailed leveling (sorting books by genre and grade level), moving computers, painting and organizing the library. City Councilman Robert Jackson was kind enough to pay us a visit. He mentioned that the average income for a family of 4 here is $ 34,000 annually. This I believed, for on our way to the school, while we were running, a brotha purposely nudges into me so he drops his 40oz and blames it on me. His elderly cohorts instigate hinting that their friend should jump me or get reimbursed or something. We were already late to the school so we continued running. He chased us down one block until we said come run with us to the school. We have no time for this right now. I guess his Depends diapers fell off while trying to chase us since I didn’t see him behind us for long.
