tldr: Solid chicken parm; not worth the price. 3.5 stars really Came here for lunch with a coworker a few days ago and we both loved the chicken parm. It was juicy, tender with the right acidity and cheesiness, however both my coworker and I felt that it didn’t deserve the $ 15(with tax) price tag. However, if you judge that $ 15 is an acceptable price for a chicken parm, then this is a great lunch spot.

Ordered the chicken parm meal. Excellent. Comes with a side of rigatoni that is vodka esque with a little bit of a kick of spice. The chicken and the red sauce is phenomenal. Super sweet, just how I like my marinara. Check this place out.

I really like this restaurant. Great old school vibe. Great music and the service was good. I got the chicken parm platter which was delicious. the spicey pasta I think was over powered by bell pepper/pepper. That would be my only criticism of the food. The chicken was think and cooked very well covered with a very tasty sauce and plenty of mozzarella. My only issue with this restaurant is price. The platter itself was $ 19. I had an ice tea that was close to 3 dollars, half ice, and didn’t come with a refill. All in with tax and a $ 3 tip lunch cost $ 30. That is outrageous. There is no way the the food should have come to anything more than $ 20. I work right around the corner and would probably come in 1 – 2 times a month but not at these prices. Save your wallet, walk down the street and get a chicken parm from Parisi.

I’ve been a Parm fan for years. The menu is small but perfectly concise. Of course the chicken parm is the star, but do yourself a favor and start with some fried calamari, the house salad, and some french fries. Obviously you’re ordering the entrée of chicken parm with the spicy pasta on the side. If you’re not in the mood for chicken parm, the roast turkey is also an excellent choice. They only offer a house red and a house white, and both are quite tasty! The wait can be hit or miss but I suggest sitting at the counter!

I have an obsession with meatballs that extends beyond reason. I could have them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I could eat it on pasta, on rice, or from a Tupperware container in front of the refrigerator at 4am. That being said, I was magnetically drawn to Parm’s meatball sandwich. My only regret? Not getting the platter, because I devoured that sandwich so fast, I don’t even remember just how good it was. No wait, that’s a lie. It was darn good, and I was only making an excuse to go back. This and the chicken parm might be a tad pricey, but it’s a indulgence worthy of making if you’re craving red-and-white checkered tablecloth, no frills Italian cookin’.

HORRIBLESERVICE. Sat down at the bar and there were 3 servers behind the bar and not a single one acknowledged me for 5 minutes. Just left and went next door to Grey Dog.

Solid sandwiches and salads. The chicken parm is good with a light, seasoned breading and a good balance of sauce topped with mozzarella. The grilled chicken Caesar is also solid — the chicken is well-marinated, juicy, and flavorful. I am very particular about my grilled chicken and CANNOT stand it when it is dry and/or bland. The version here passes the test. Overall, a good lunch option and they cater as well.

Pros: +Portions are relatively big. +Food is so delicious and worth the wait. +Staff is very friendly. +CALIMARI. Cons: –The space is super small, there is quite a wait for a table. –Bathroom is impossible to maneuver in unless you are a small child. –You WILL smell like fired chicken when you leave as the place is so small the smokey flavor will permeate all your fibers.

This has been on list to try for awhile and I finally did. Chicken parm is my 2nd favorite food behind pizza, so needless to say I have a pretty high bar. We sat at the counter as it’s a pretty tight space. I was amazed at how many people came in asking for 6 or 8 tops. Obviously 95% of people that came in were tourists as this is definitely a tourist hot spot. Oops. I ordered the chicken parm hero of course and we got the Italian fries to start. The fries were delicious, lots going on but very, very good! They had a Tabasco/Parmesan aioli which was very good too. The chicken parm came, it was ok. Just ok. Not terrible, not mind blowing either. I have had a lot better and I’ve sure as hell had a lot worse. There wasn’t much chicken but a whole lot of bread. It also took awhile to come out. The fresh basil was a nice touch. The sauce was tasty and a bit sweet but there wasn’t a lot of it, which isn’t always a bad thing. The cheese was gooey and good. A pretty decent chicken parm hoagie. Overall you could do a lot worse for a chicken parm but you could also do a lot better. And for $ 14 this sandwich is overpriced by about 50% if you ask me, maybe a bit less. Solely because it was a $ 39 lunch and I was absolutely still hungry afterwards doesn’t yield a return visit. Service was very good though. Still not sure what the 1950s theme is about, but sure, why not.

Such a cute, little place! Not a huge menu, but it has everything we needed. Came for lunch during the week, so it was pretty empty, but had a few people in and out as we had our meal. I ordered the chicken parm on a roll and it was amazing! I do wish it had more mozzarella cheese melted on top, but I can’t complain because they did not skimp out on the amount of chicken ATALL! I’m not sure how they made the chicken, but it almost tasted beer battered and was SOGOOD. My friend got the eggplant parm on and she liked hers as well. Neither were drenched in sauce which made a huge difference compared to other places! Overall we really liked it and will definitely come back to try some appetizers. The table next to us got the buffalo cucumbers and they looked amazing. Would not recommend coming here with a big party as it’s pretty small and even putting tables together would leave you cramped. They also don’t have a ton of vegan options, but I guess that just wouldn’t really fit with the theme of the place.

I can’t believe I ate it on Mulberry street, we lucked into a corner table in back and really enjoyed lunch after figuring out where to put our knees under the tiny Parm tables :). Friendly fast service. Calamari is *excellent* with rings, tentacles and fried jalapeño slices, but a rather skimpy portion for $ 15. Chicken parm roll is yummy, a steal for NYC at $ 10, and I truly sang the praises of the red sauce on the perfectly layered eggplant parm, a platter with Sunday salad is $ 19. Draft beer not cheap at $ 8 but hit the spot. Highly recommend if you can get a seat.

Walked in for a party of 5. Wait time we were told was 10 – 15 minutes by the unfriendly hostess in the striped sweater who just looked miserable and unhappy. We waited over 20 minutes while watching her seat other patrons. Waited at the bar w/no greets, no one asking if anyone wanted beverages while waiting. The MOSTUNFRIENDLYSTAFF I have ever encountered. We left and went elsewhere. I really wished that Unilocal would give us the option to NOT rate any stars. This place doesn’t even deserve a star!

Parm NY Manhattan Nolita 12pm 30th December 2015 Three Stars It’s been on list for a while but after watching the first episode of Aziz Ansari’s Netflix show Master of None I had to try the sandwiches at Parm. The place is not really what I expected. It’s red and white color scheme has a ruby’s dinner feel. I sat at the 50s style bar. They have a chalkboard on the wall listing their wares and the waitress offered to get me a menu which was just another blackboard with the same things listed. I had the Meatball Parm on Hero($ 15). The bread was a long Italian roll covered in sesame seeds from Parisi’s on Elizabeth Street. The crust had a golden color with a uniform size. The inside was fresh, soft and chewy. The flavor was lightly sweet, salty, and nutty. The meatballs were made up beef, veal, and Italian sausage, fried onions, celery, carrots, bread crumbs, milk, and cheese. They are cooked with pink center which is a bit scary for pork but it’s so delicious that’s it is worth the risk. It’s most moist and flavorful ball of meat that I have experienced. The house made mozzarella was sparse but melted. The tomato was also very minimal in both quantity and ingredients. It was just fresh crushed tomatoes with olive oil and salt. The basil was a nice touch. Overall, a good sandwich for a bit pricey $ 15.

60s style diner-esque with try too hard Italian decors with menus written on the walls. I’ve heard great things about parm and seeing that they have been able to open multiple locations, I said why not. I was around the neighborhood and saw that there was no wait so my BF and I decided to stop by for lunch. The seating was really cramp. There was like 5 inches between me and the next patron but we’re used to that being New Yorkers and I didn’t think much of it. Like I said, the menus was written on the wall and is limited to only several things. We decided to order the calamari and the chicken parme platter which comes with either a Sunday salad or rotini(we chose the pasta). Food came fast and the calamari was alright. The battered pepper slices in the calamari was a nice touch. The chicken parme was a killer. I understand the hype. It’s pretty good and not oversaturated with sauce(which tends to be the problem with lots of parme dishes). The pasta was also above average for me. What I did not like about this place was the service. I swear the waiters here looks like they hate their jobs and they show it. The waiter tried to take away our half eaten calamari and we told them that we were still working on it. He put it down without an apology. Fine. When he came to clear the table, he goes can I take it now with an attitude. He also moved my personal items around the table without asking me and he made us feel really unwelcomed. Would I come here again? Only for take-out. I want to still eat their food but I would never go through their horrible service. While they probably deserve a 3, the service put them down to a 2.

Do you hate meetings? Yeah, me too. You know what can make any meeting instantly enjoyable? Catering from Parm. I’m serious. Did you know they cater? There’s nothing like a nice warm chicken parm sandwich on bread that has so many sesame seeds you can barely see the bun. It really breaks up the monotony of corporate life to bite into juicy chicken drenched in just the right amount of tomato sauce. Of course, they have veggie options as well for those people who have failed at fulfilling their rightful place at the top of the food chain. Those are basically avocado sandwiches. Like… really thick slices of it. Not that I’m complaining. What I also love about their catering is they include little squeeze bottles of their sauces. Their spicy is surprisingly spicy, and their Tabasco mayo adds a more subdued but still noteicable zing. But yeah, eat the chicken parm sandwich.

Stopped in after walking through the mayhem that was San Gennaro and I was so glad they told me the wait for a table of 2 was only, 20 minutes. Everything else worth waiting for in the area, had lines of 1.5+ hours so this was great. My boyfriend and I only ended up waiting about 10 minutes after getting a drink at the bar, which was great because hungry was an understatement. The service seemed a little spotty, which we later forgave them for because the food came out quick, hot and fresh. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to get started and they were in front of us 2 minutes later. I was skeptical, but as soon as I bit into one I felt reassured in our decision. Freshly breaded and FULL of cheese so you know you’re getting that lovely string from the movies everyone’s heart desires. Delicious! For entrees we got a Chicken Parm Platter with pasta and a Chicken Parm hero. With my platter came 3 pieces of extremely tender and crispy chicken, topped with more mozz and a great sauce alongside a surprisingly spicy elbow pasta. It was a little creamier than the marinara on the chicken, but I loved the bit of heat. Across the way, my boyfriend had the hero and had the same comments on the chicken. Overall it was a great, casual and relatively inexpensive meal. I definitely want to go back, but perhaps to a different location where they have the more extensive dinner menu.

The inside space is a bit small, with tables packed in, as most NYC restaurants. The interior is simple but yet provides that warm, welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Can’t say the same about the service… The food here is good, I loved the meatball parm on the roll, but they are a bit pricey to me, especially the«platter.» Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Went for dinner last night and I have to say I really enjoyed everything I ate! I love the old-school feel of the place, the only issue I had was that since it’s so small the tables are close together and it felt like everyone around me was screaming over each other so it was uncomfortably loud. However, the food was worth it. First they bring you a plate with small pieces of delicious garlic bread and a piece of warm, fresh mozzarella that was probably some of the best mozzarella I’ve ever tasted. Then I had the mozz sticks, really liked them. For my main meal I got eggplant parm on a roll. I will warn you the sandwiches get messy but they’re awesome. And finally, I had to try the ice cream cake. Got the strawberry shortcake flavor and it was delicious. I was fully satisfied by the end of the meal and will be going back.
