Dr. silver and his staff are amazing from the minute you walk in you are greeted with positive and professional people. You can tell they all love what they do and try to make your experience as painless and informative as possible. They explain everything they are doing and why they are doing it. They are genuinely concerned with your comfort and will do everything in their power to make it as painless as possible. You leave feeling like your part of their family and when you a call from them days later to see how your feeling your stunned to find out they actually care… amazing!

First time visiting Dr. Silver. Initially was going in to get a quick check on a crack crown. Due to insurance issues, I decided to hold off but asked about getting cavities filled. To my amazement, Dr. Silver was able to fill the decay without any drilling or use of local anesthesia. He was also very patient in explaining me how and why it works. I definitely will be visiting him again for my future dental issues. Looks like my fears of going to the dentist has gone away =).

I don’t trust my teeth to anyone. Anyone. Well, I didn’t until I met Dr. Silver and Roz and the entire staff. Seriously. My career depends on my chompers, and every dentist before Peter didn’t get it. My recent (last 4 years) health battles and onslaught of treatment left my teeth in a very fragile state. It was comforting, knowing that they were truly on my side, and wanted the best for me and my career. The battle continues, and they have been here for me and my chops. Hubby (trombonist extraordinaire) sees them also, and understands why I not only trust these folks, but love them. Even if you’re not a musician, you’ll love how gentle and effective they are, both in dental practice and as human beings. They’re folks that want a trusting, lifelong relationship with you and your pearly whites. Once you go, you’ll never want anyone else doing your dental work. Plus, they don’t play crappy dentist music.

Dr Silver and his staff are A++++. They make you feel comfortable and never lay that dentist guilt trip on you. I have lots of anxieties about doctors in general but not here.

I just starting seeing Dr. Silver and so far I’m very impressed and pleased with the service. Roz the hygienist is excellent and attentive and Dr. Silver was great about explaining what he does and why. If it continues like this I’m upgrade the 4 starts to 5!

I had a filling done today on a lower front tooth and Dr. Silver did not even need to drill. He used air abrasion, which was so pleasant that it made me feel relaxed and happy to be at a dentist’s office. After two decades of horrific dental experiences I have finally found a dentist who is extremely skilled in addition to caring about his patients. Everyone working at Dr. Silver’s dental office is very friendly and helpful too. My whole family is switching over to Dr. Silver!

Peter Silver the jazz dentist lulls you with real jazz, smooth pain free dentistry and a thorough explanation of the whole process including costs. Is a gentleman and a thorough professional. Oh, and the jazz is great.

Dr. Silver is extremely gentle, great with people who have dental anxiety, and someone I refer people to constantly. He’s made every visit simple, calming, gives just the right amount of information, and has a great sense of humor too.

It’s an unspoken rule, that prior to treatment, the dentist should first take into account what is usable and in relatively good condition along with evaluating what is wrong and requires intervention. Only after this careful evaluation can the dentist offer possible treatment. Unfortunately this philosophy is far from practice today, and most dentists (and physicians) immediately suggest treatment without detailed and scrupulous analysis and sensitivity to the patient’s full picture. The striking uniqueness, gift, and devotion of Dr. Silver is uncompromisingly focused on the patient’s condition – to maximize his/​her potentials towards best treatment. I had an astonishing experience in Dr. Silver’s office where I literally came with no hope for even elementary chewing because of tooth fracture. All the more upsetting because this added to my already compromised dental condition. Not only did Dr. Silver masterfully perform repair, but it was done with no pain, without even a hint of sensitivity. I almost felt as if in magician’s hands.
The entire experience was that much less stressful because of the devotion and remarkable knowledge of Dr. Silver’s head hygienist, Roslyn. I’m so grateful for just this visit alone. I know that a number of my friends are also benefiting from the expertise of Dr. Silver and his staff.

Dr. Silver has been my dentist for about 20 years now and I can’t imagine ever going to anyone else. He is compassionate, understanding, smart and always has the newest technology. Everyone on the staff is great. Roz the dental hygienist is amazing and gives the best cleanings in town. If you’re a jazz lover, you’re in luck because the office soundtrack is a nonstop playlist of amazing jazz.

I’ve never actually met Dr. Silver, but anyone I meet from his staff is always top-​notch and an absolute pleasure to work with. The name is totally slipping me right now, but when I came in for my last bi-​yearly check up my hygienist was such a sweetheart! It’s obvious that she has a passion for taking care of teeth because she’s been in the business for almost 40 years and has worked at this particular practice for around 10 years.
Not only did she do a great job helping clean my teeth, but she also gave me some really great tips on tooth care practices to put into place every day. I’ve never really felt that compelled to make the switch from a regular to an electric tooth brush, but now I think I’m convinced.
Overall, this is an office that has really got their stuff together. They have a really organized appointment reminder system and send frequent text/​email/​call reminders during the days leading up to your appointment. They also never let you leave empty handed and always give out a really cute goodie bag with a bunch of tooth care stuff in it. My old dentist used to just hand out a toothbrush, so it’s nice to get a whole assortment of things.
As long as they keep taking my insurance, I’ll keep on going to this office for my check-​ups. No reason not to!

Best dentist ever. I was pregnant and had to get a tooth extracted, he gave me his cell phone number, checked up on me, referred me to another wonderful doctor taking care of the extraction and dealt with me throughout the implant process. He uses the newest technology and loves his gadgets that take away the pain. It did not hurt once! I love the team. Everybody is super friendly, and they all know you by name when you call. I recommend Dr Silver to all my friends and am the happiest person whenever I have to go and see him. I also never had problems with my insurance (Delta Dental) or any invoices fron this practice. It is all extremely well organized.

It had been two years since I had been to a dentist. I had been in pain and emotionally scarred by the experience. From the moment I made an appointment with Silver’s office, letting them know the anxiety I felt about going, everyone was patient and supportive. The office has a warm energy. Tamara and Monica are kind, patient, and funny. Dr Silver talked me through every step. Used patience and humor to talk me through every step. (And he’s just adorable!) If you have ANY hesitation about the dentistry experience, fret no more.

What’s the worst part about going to the dentist you ask? PAIN I respond. You feel the grind of a drill on the inside of a molar, the splitting crack as a tooth is pulled out of your mouth, and the mind numbing twinge as your teeth are scraped, pushed, and pulled. At Dr. Silver’s office, you get NONE of those terrible things. He gets you «profoundly numb» as he loves to say. Once you’re there, sit back and enjoy the smooth jazz as Dr. Silver does what he does with the most up to date technology.
He has an outstanding staff who are helpful, genial, and overall a pleasure to deal with. On top of that, Dr. Silver is always learning more! He has told me multiple times that the new numbing, technique, filling, etc. was learned just recently at a conference or seminar. Here is a man who does not use the knowledge of the 80’s, but the knowledge of NOW to really provide top quality care. One specific thing to point out is his use of an Ozone wax. Upon having a tooth pulled, he put that in the pulled area and it healed in just days instead of weeks. UNHEARD OF!
Dr. Peter Silver is hands down the man to go to in NYC for ALL your dental needs. Come from afar, you won’t be disappointed. Now open wide and SMILE!

I used to be scared of dentists. Dr. Silver and his team deliver the highest quality of care possible and treat you like family.
I almost do not want to give five stars because I know that will mean more people that I will have to compete with to get appointment time, but the office is amazing.

Amazing!!! I needed an emergency root canal, after a pain filled weekend. Dr. Peter Silver was amazing. I am supper sensitive to pain and he made sure to that I felt none of it. His staff is supper helpful and friendly. The great jazz music helped calm my nerves. If you need a dentist please make sure to visit DR. Peter Silver I highly recommend him. I am totally and utterly speechless which is rare for me, I will admit, but in a good way.
It is also very rare that I go into the office of a dentist and leave smiling and happy and this is exactly what happened.
I have a dentist phobia. I’d rather get routine surgery before I’d have to go a dental routine/​procedure. But for years, I’ve heard so many good things about this particular dentist but already had in my mind that all dentists are alike: «pain freaks». A majority of those with whom I work with goes to Dr. Silver and I thought to myself that that must mean something good. So let me give him a try…
I had to get my upper mouth/​gum numbed and I dreaded that because I picture in my mind the kind of needle that I am used to getting: those big, long, ancient and thick needles. But no.
What he did was gently applied a gel like substance to numb the areas that was going to get the needle. That was awesome. Then when it was time for the real anesthetic via the needle, I braced myself for the worst, or what I thought would be the worst. Boy was I WRONG. He showed me a little, itty, bitty needle I could hardly see with my eyes, lol. It was almost transparent, so minute. That eased me a bit, but when he stuck my gums, I didn’t even know until I asked. Then while needle was still in my gum, he used this small massaging device or mechanism on my outer lip to distract me from feeling pain, which was NONE! I didn’t feel a thing, do you all hear what I said?
Then he offered me shades to wear under the glaring lights of both the lamp and his eye-​wear. I was totally impressed and comfortable that I dozed off a bit and even while the drill was in progress.
He is one of the friendliest, professional, most gentle and pleasant dentists I’ve ever encountered. In addition, I can’t leave out his staff! Lisa-​Lisa (not her real name; it’s Lisa) and the hygienist, I forgot her name and I guess what would be the dental assistant working alongside Dr. Silver (I forgot her name too) were so sweet and accommodating with me the whole time. They made me feel sooooooooooooo comfortable. I was even offered a BLANKET because it was so cold and I was cold but I got through it. The ambiance in the office, the cleanliness, openness of the examination rooms, and let’s not forget the jazz tunes just made me feel so at ease.
As I stated before, I have never in my life left a dentists’ office smiling and happy. Although ½ of my mouth was numb, I left Dr. Silver’s in song…
