R & C Laundry

Absolutely disgustingly dirty everywhere. Dirt caked into the corners of everything and stray socks laying on the grimy floor (now you know what happened to that missing sock), this place should be shut down by the health department.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible. The told me to return at 5 PM to pick up some important peices. I arrived at 4:50, 10 minutes before their closing time. Guess what… they were closed. Awful customer service. They do not answer their phones. If you say you close at 5PM. Close at 5PM!
The place is dirty, clothes all over the place. The girls need to learn manners. I mean who owns this place, it’s an embarrassment. And shit talking in Spanish of costumers face to face. Hello, many of them can understand you. Ridiculous. They are extremely rude to costumers faces. it’s too much.

THANK YOU baby Jesus, Allah, Jehovah, the Universe or whomever else is listening — the old management has returned, and this disaster of a place is already in a better place! I had to do my laundry over the weekend because I really wanted them to smell clean, (whenever I send them out no matter the cleaners, even when I provide soap pods, they still smell blah). I walked in, and immediately thought, «Hm, looks brighter in here…» and noticed a fresh coat of paint, no trash everywhere, and neatly organized laundry bags ready for pickup. I also saw a familiar face — the management that was there when i first moved into the neighborhood (we’re going back about 8 – 10 yrs) is back! She even recognized me, and asked how I was and that she hadn’t seen me for 8 years. I used to do my laundry myself until disaster struck and the place went to pot… now though, I recommend. It’s much cleaner, staff is super nice, prices the same — affordable. I’ll have to check on hours of operation, not sure if that changed. Give them a chance. :)

I can’t possibly rate this place low enough. If you’re in their area, sadly there aren’t many options. For pickup/​delivery, use M&N (closed on Sunday, but they’re very nice & prompt), or Tio’s on ²³⁄₉ for self-​service (also really nice, last wash is 7:30, on Sunday it’s 6:30).
Ok, about R&C…
Last wash on a weekday is 6, last wash on a weekend is 3?! Does anyone use this place that has a job? Also, each time I’ve gone, the time changes. Once I called first, the girl said last wash at 5, I show up at 4:30 & they say, «ohhh she’s new, she didn’t know.» I asked if I could just run a wash & not dry — still got a very b! tchy, «no.» Another time I went, I was trying to have a conversation with my 76yr old aunt (it was raining or I would’ve stepped out), and I politely asked if they could turn the blasting music down — they gave me a dirty look & obliged. They were dancing with their legs up on the folding table and HUMPING it. Come ON ladies. (Well, «ladies.»)
And don’t even bother with pickup/​delivery. You’ll rarely get them on the phone. I even tried calling from INSIDE the place & it didn’t ring… they leave the ringer off on purpose. Worst customer service on the planet.
Sidenote: years ago they ruined a shirt I had & when I brought it in to show them, they took it and said I can’t have it back! Who the f* does that?! Most ridiculous conversation ever to get it back. Total idiots. Avoid at all cost.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE! NOT a shocker they have bad reviews on here as their customer service is BEYOND horrible. Today they came to pick up my NEIGHBOR“S laundry. DOWN the hall from my apartment and picked up mine as well. The bag were NOT close to each other and had my name on them (clearly marked) AND another were clearly listed for another cleaner. After I received an email from my doorman that my laundry service was there and there was no laundry to be picked up I immediately knew what happened and emailed my roommate and doormen to call R&C. R&C stated they already did the laundry and was going to deliver it by noon and was no charge to me. Once I landed I called and Elizabeth was RUDE on the phone and said «We already dealt with this. It will be there at noon» I then explained who I was and how there was NO WAY they should have picked up my bags as they were in front of my door. She said that her staff said they were in front of my neighbors door. I then received a call from my fabulous laundry service Eco Laundry (on 18^th… check them out) and they said that R&C is now saying they DIDN’T do my laundry but will NOT drop it off at their center EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE. I called to confirm that R&C did in fact not clean my clothes and Elizabeth was even RUDER on the 2^nd call. She said I was in the wrong and NOT THEM. WHAT??? How can I be in the wrong for MY BAGS being clearly labeled for ECO Laundry and in front of MY door? Never ONCE did they apologize and were using rude tones to correct me because what their staff says is right and what their customers must say is wrong. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE. If this is how they treat people just think of the way they treat your clothes. THANKFULLY THEY DID NOT do my laundry.
All of the negative reviews are true. Go to Eco Laundry, they treat their customers with respect.

The service is the worst I have ever seen. Very unfriendly receptionist. You never know if she really hears you — she won’t look at you, no nodding or anything. I wouldn’t mind to go back simply because it’s the closest. Although they never open at the hour that is shown on the window. Always always late!

1) This place is filthy and disgusting just like the women who work here. We were rushed to leave at 7:30 when they close at 8 oclock. She told us we have 5 minutes at 7:40 and I said your sign says you close at 8 PM, she said, «I told you to leave» I understand fluent spanish and could understand them speaking trash about me and my boyfriend. –Do not trust these people with drop off as when I was there they just put the clean clothes on the filthy floor. I truly believe they are doing shady things when people aren’t looking. It is just disguisting.

I agreed to do someone’s laundry as a favor for them. I honestly don’t mind doing laundry, I enjoy it. It’s the folding part that gets to me though.
Anyways, I came here only because it was the closest to where I got the load from. Despite the negative reviews, I thought «it’s only a laundromat, I don’t have to deal with anyone».
This place is the size of a NYC apartment. Also, the people that come and do laundry seriously lack manners. If I say excuse me, I mean for you to step to the side so I can push my cart to the other end… not to just alert you that I’m behind you. People… ugh. I hate them. Oh, and the number of machines that were out of service was ridonkulous!
The machines aren’t really the usual ones that I’m used to, so I asked basic questions to the owner (I think), who was a very nice gentleman. I put the dirty load in the machine and left.
I come back 30 minutes later, and he wasn’t there… except some snippy Hispanic girl took over.
Me: «Hi.»
Bitchy Hispanic girl: (no emotion or answer)
Me: «I have a question.»
BHG: (still no emotion or answer)
Me: «Can I ask you a question?»
BHG: (doing a 180 while snapping her head) «Yeah, I heard you.»
I asked her a question about what option to press cause the machine was confusing… all she gave me was a bitchy snarl and snapped back at me like I did something wrong.
I’m done being nice.
I pushed through carts and people and their laundry bags like King Kong would.
Last time I’ll ever agree to do laundry for someone.

They are the worst laundry place in the neighborhood. They can take hours to show up for a pickup or delivery. When they do show up they send someone that isn’t physically capable of carrying a bag of laundry up the stairs. They don’t get your clothes actually clean. Shirts that i ask to be dry cleaned have come back laundered. They are not any cheaper than anywhere else. They store your credit card and charge it automatically even when asked to specifically not charge the stored card. I once requested them to delete the card then had it charged the next time I had my laundry done.
Honestly I should have quit using these guys far sooner than I did, just stay away.

I lived in one of the high rises in this area and have sampled all the dry cleaners in the area. I used to use RnC for dry cleaning but too many shirts came back with broken buttons. I switched to Digital up the street and never looked back — they are far superior. RnC is still good for wash and fold, though their detergent doesn’t leave clothes smelling as good as doing it yourself.

Okay, let’s start off with the good.
It’s cheap, at $ 2.50-$ 5 for a wash, and $.25 for 8 minutes of drying. Not bad, considering that it’s the only laundry mat around in the area. Right? Wait, there’s not a better one closer to me, is there?
It’s convenient, at 1 block down and 1 block over from my apartment. And since it’s just about on the corner of 7^th, there are tons of things to do while you’re waiting. So okay… cheap and convenient…
But now, the bad.
Umm… how about the place itself? First off, for a place that has one job of cleaning stuff, it’s pretty filthy in there. Clothes on the floor, hair on the floor, empty detergent bottles everywhere… not to mention bags of laundry everywhere. Sometimes I will be the only customer trying to do my laundry, but have to wait because of all the clothes that are already in the washer and dryers. What is going on? I understand that they have a drop-​off service, but they have to leave some machines open to all us poor kids who do our own laundry.
… and on that note, if you’re reading this and use their service, my advice to you is to find a new laundry place, or call up Mommy and ask her how she did your laundry all those years and do it yourself. I’m not saying that because you *should* know how to do your laundry (I’m saying that a little bit), but really… they don’t handle clothes in there too well. They use cheap products and on many occasions, I see them drop clothes on the nasty floor in there, and just handle stuff really carelessly.
The women who work there aren’t monsters, but they’re certainly not friendly, either. They always seem bothered that I do my own laundry and take up their precious machines, which always seem to break when I’m in there, which leads me to believe they’re ancient. I guess in a nutshell, I feel unwelcome to do my laundry there, since the staff makes no effort to help me out, get out of my way, move the clothes that are ready out of machines, etc. If the Spanish soaps are on when you go… don’t you dare ask for quarters!
