The las time we ate here(hell’s kitchen restaurant), it was certainly better, though it was not even that long ago. The tuna tartar was the highlight for us. Once we got our entrees, we realized we’d been better off with just several apetizers to share. The menu is certainly creative and the atmosphere is great if the restaurant is not busy. Once it gets busy, be ready to sit on the neighbors lap, because the small tables get stacked side by side and you do not get any privacy with a table for two.

This is my favorite Thai spot in the city. I have been coming to this place since 2010 probably over 30 times. The lunch menu is amazing with many good choices at a very good price point. It is very hard to combine good food with low cost but Room Service delivers it day in and day out. For about $ 7.50 you get the following: Soup(light broth with crispy vegetables) Choice of appetizer Choice of entrée Choice of Soda or Coconut Ice Cream Below are my favorite choices: App: Fried Chicken and Shrimp Dumpling Entrees: — Spicy Basil Noodle [ Kee Mao ] — Pad Thai Noodle — Pineapple Fried Rice Skip the soda and get the ice cream. You got to have the coconut ice cream at the end, it is delectable.

I’ve only gotten delivery from here, but it is my favorite Thai restaurant in the city, and I’ve tried A LOT of them. I judge Thai by their summer rolls and these are the best I’ve found. They are not only gorgeous-looking, but the dipping sauce and ingredients are fresh and tasty. This place makes delicious, gorgeous food for a cost that many cheap thai kitchens would charge.

I love this place. Thai food is one o my favorite foods and although I’m partial to Sea’s ambience, this place is great. I always go for lunch bc they have a crazy good lunch menu, 8 bucks for soup, app, and entrée. Their Thai iced tea is a generous portion. The service is quick. You can go here alone or in a group. Excellent plating and presentation. I recommend their tuna tar tar, veggie spring rolls, spicy basil noodles with any meat, fried rice with any meat, Thai tea, beers… Haven’t had the pleasure of having a drink here yet, but its a n pretty cool set up with the doors, «room numbers», etc.

Oh how my husband would be unhappy if he found out I only gave 3 stars to Room Service :) He loves this place and every time he suggests we come here… I cringe a little inside and try desperately to suggest another Thai place. Ok so Room Service isn’t that bad, but it isn’t that good either. So as you can tell, I’ve been multiple times to both locations and each time I have had a different experience. If I had reviewed the restaurant the first time I visited I would have given it 5 stars for the yummy food and the ambiance. However, after that its been hit or miss… sometimes the food is good… and sometimes not so much. My latest lunch visit a week ago left me underwhelmed and frankly bored with the food. The chicken tom yum soup was good but the basil chicken entrée with brown rice was well… eh…aka mediocre. The ambiance and décor are still super nice, but the initial charm has worn off. All in all, if you are in the neighborhood and looking for Thai food that is not bad but average to good(if you’re lucky) than try Room Service. It’s a nice place but than with so many other Thai places in NYC, I put Room Service towards the middle bottom of my list :)

I had the Chicken Pumpkin Curry. It was fantastic. The mojitos were also a delicious way to start the night. I had the Lychee Mojito and Coconut Mojito… amazing. Fast Service. The food came out quick. It was a little busy, but on a Saturday night in Chelsea, it was just right. Some places we walked by were spilling onto the street.

I was surprised to find a nice Thai restaurant with so many affordable options for a Saturday night dinner(under $ 15 for the majority of the dishes). I called at about 7:30PM and asked if they were able to accommodate a table of 8 at 8:00PM. They said they were available so we started heading over. The only thing I found a bit odd is they asked me to confirm I meant to call them and not their 9th Avenue location in Hell’s Kitchen. I reassured them that I really wanted them and they happily said: «We’ll see you at 8:00PM!» The décor is clean, with an attempt at upscale and creative, but the quality of the materials don’t really match the upscale look. I sampled their Room Service Pad Thai, Tofu Panang Curry and the Tofu Pad Kee Mao(Spicy Basil Noodles on the menu). I liked the Panang Curry the most by far and then a very close second is the Tofu Pad Kee Mao. They were both so incredibly flavorful and savory. The Room Service Pad Thai could really use some work — small portion, nothing too«wow» in terms of taste factor. A must-order beverage is their coconut water. IDK what they heck they do to it, but it was addictively simple, sweet and natural. Their Thai Iced Tea was a tad too sweet for my liking. All in all, we had a great time, Room Service can accommodate a large party, they’re very affordable and there’s tons of fun to be had.

Average food with above average décor and above average value. I was torn between 2 and 3 stars, but the incredibly low prices bumped them up. I visited Room Service with 4 of my college girlfriends during one of our traditional girl weekends in NYC. The first thing I noticed was how trendy it looks inside. It really does look like a lounge where you’d listen to house music and drink 18 dollar cocktails. It was a nice start to a girls night out. The menu is huge. They have a large selection of appetizers and small plates, as well as the normal assortment of Thai noodle dishes. I always get the same thing at new Thai places– drunken noodles. I want to see how they stand up to my fav Thai place in Philly. For around $ 8, my dish was a steal. Unfortunately I wasn’t blown away by my dish. It has a weird consistency to the sauce– sort of grainy, that I wasn’t a big fan of. But at the low price, I wasn’t too upset about it. If I could give Room Service a recommendation, I’d say they should scale back their menu and focus on making a few items super high quality. The diner-sized menu and mediocre food doesn’t jive with the swanky atmosphere.

I came here on a regular Wednesday night to meet a friend for dinner. Definitely liked the décor and the fact that it wasn’t as crowded as its other spot on 9th ave. I was in a rice mood so I got the Thai fried rice w/beef… OMG it was so good. It’s the simple things with me! My dinner companion had the shrimp appetizer and pad thai… there was no food left to take home… so I’m guessing it was just as yummy as mine. The drinks were just as good and were made with a nice heavy hand! Gotta luv a heavy hand!

I can say I plan on going back but definitely not for the infamous Room Service pad thai. I prefer regular pad thai. The room service pad thai as 80% omelette and 20% everything else. If you want something light, it’s the way to go but you will be hungry soon after. The calamari was satisfying and the drinks were great! Two or three drinks will get you right! They were potent yet delicious! The service was ok. About 3 or 4 people came to our table and different times to ask us what we would like to order and it was only 2 of us dining. At the end, you don’t know who to tip because you’ve seen so many people come to the table. I’ll give it another shot and give another review.

I love thai food and while I didn’t love my experience at Room Service uptown, I loved my experience here. The prices are a little more expensive here than regular places, but definitely worth the splurge. The quality of the food is much better than your local restaurant and the service is pretty good. The second I finished my food, they whisked my empty plate away. We had the corn spring rolls(pass) and the kani summer rolls. I liked the kani rolls, it was a little different from your usual summer rolls and the sauce was pretty good. I had the lard nah and it was so good. It’s a very saucy noodle with a lot of flavor. My only complaint is that there weren’t enough noodles! The thai iced tea was good, the thai iced coffee was eh. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back here for more.

The first time I had Room Service, I loved it. Since then and since it’s grown, I’m thoroughly unimpressed every time I go. I usually get Pad Se Ew or Pad Thai but this time I picked a Chicken Mango dish, the chicken was frozen and not of great quality, I brought it home and the thought of it the next day made me feel nasty. The plus side is they have this Long Island Iced Tea –esq drink made with Thai Iced Tea that is super strong and happy hour lasts until 7 or 8 with half priced drinks. Oh and we went on New Year’s Eve for dinner at like 6 or 7 and we called ahead and were like are you busy and they completely said they were, so I got there early to put our names in and the place was EMPTY. It was a little dumb, I was a little annoyed, don’t lie and tell me you think you’re busier than you. Sometimes New York needs to get over itself.

Ordered the fried rice and one of their seductive cocktails which was great! Service was great, although it seemed like we had several servers and they weren’t even busy. Great spot for out of town family & friends! P. S. They even have a Saturday happy-hour!

Walking into the joint, first thing I thought was«space age Purple Rain.» They definitely nail the pristine purple aura motif. Luckily, their food tasted better than space food. It was good, not knock your socks off. I was craving pad thai, so guess what I got… spring rolls(followed by chicken pad thai). Spring rolls were nothing special; I was hungry so I needed an appetizer… nice presentation though, sexy. I was last to be served, didn’t bother me as it gave me a chance to sample my companions’ dishes. One had red curry and chicken, extra hot… lemme tell you, I’ve got tolerance for spicy, but definitely get some water(instead of beer… like me) to wash this down with, especially if you get it extra hot. My pad thai was piping hot and pretty decent. The peanut flavoring definitely overpowered the other spices. I could barely catch a hint of any of the other flavors. The menu is large enough and reasonably priced to come back if need be, but I’m in no immediate rush to go back if it’s just for pad thai.

I LOVE this place. Food’s excellent, service is prompt, there’s tons of veg options and drinks are enjoyable. It’s a great place for a group too — I’ve gathered a handful of friends here and seen 2x as many ppl for other parties. It can get a bit noisy and the space btw you and your neighboring table is about 6″ but it’s NYC and every sq ft has value so waste not! Décor is trendy and cool too — love the mirrors, doors on chairs and color scheme. Oh yea and… dinner for 2 with 1 soup and 2 entrees was $ 25 — MmMmm!

By far one of the BEST thai iced teas around. Served in a tall, large glass cup, each gulp coats your throat with satisfaction. I came for the lunch special… about 6 bucks for appetizer, entrée, AND dessert? Sadly, the iced tea did not come with the amazing deal, but it was completely worth it. The place is EMPTY during lunch… which is no wonder they have such a good lunch offer. I had their spicy basil noodle, which was well proportioned and had much flavor in each bite. Their fried tofu appetizer was amazing. And finally their coconut ice cream was alright — maybe because I’ve never been a fan of coconut.

I admit, I’m a sucker for Thai and a pretty face. Maybe that’s why I usually find myself at places like Room Service? This Room Service feels far less upscale than their Hell’s Kitchen location, yet manages to present a friendly boutique hotel vibe. Their affectations always get me: namely, a hotel door suspended at the entrance. Thankfully their food is on-par with other Room Service kitchens. Green dumplings($ 4.20; credit cards accepted) satisfied, and the coconut calamari tempura($ 5.20) was surprisingly edible. The always-dependable Room Service pad thai fit the bill, and since we didn’t have enough of their noodles, we went for a dark spaghetti with seafood — a standout. Service wasn’t always around, but I like privacy. If you’re in dire need of something you can always flag someone.

A few days ago, I was a jaded disgruntled New Yorker that had given up faith on good service. That all changed yesterday when I went to Room Service. My mom and aunt were in town to celebrate my aunt’s birthday and they were headed to a Gospel concert at MSG. These ladies are notoriously picky eaters that are never quite impressed no matter where you take them. I had been to Room Service in Hell’s Kitchen before and was overall impressed. When I stepped into the Chelsea location I was a bit disappointed, the décor isn’t as nice or sleek and the menus were tattered. I took a deep breath and sheepishly checked if the ladies had turned up their noses. No reaction yet! It all turned around when the super friendly waiter came and told us about the cocktail hour and specials of the day. Our drinks came out very quickly and luckily we made the happy hour($ 6 for most drinks) and buy one get one free Thai beer from 5 – 7. Sweet! We had the mango mojitos which were huge and delicious. Here’s the skinny(or fatty) on the many meals we ordered: Appetizers: Tuna tartar– Great sauce, and perfectly done tuna. Chicken satay– perfectly cooked and nice presentation Calamari– The calamari itself wasn’t that well seasoned but had a really nice complimentary chilli sauce(This was the ladies fave app) Entrée: Pineapple fried rice with seafood– Perfect combination of seafood with pineapples, cashews, and raisins Spicy Squid Ink Spaghetti– I liked this dish a lot more at the Hells Kitchen location. It seemed overwhelmingly saucy.(The ladies liked this least. My aunt couldn’t handle looking at it because to her it was reminiscent of intestines that she used to see in nursing school) Steamed Shrimp In Clay Pot– This was our favorite by far. Really well seasoned with a generous amount of shrimp. I asked the waitress if they could do something special for my aunt’s birthday and they brought out a slice of cake with a candle. It was super nice and my aunt was surprised. I always boast that I don’t have favorites but this may be one my «most liked» Thai restaurants. I also pleased the aunts, which is a huge feat. Now only if they can order some new menus, we’d be set!
