I experienced poor customer service on the phone. The owner was extremely impatient with a simple question about price range. She answered: «I have no idea, etc… now I have customers waiting, so…» I will take my business elsewhere gladly.

excellent service and work from small neighborhood shop run by husband wife. truly as good as it gets! I get compliments all the time at the office where the frames hang.

Rose is sweet, honest, and her prices are reasonable. She framed something for us in less than a week so we would have it in time for Christmas, and recommended I spend less rather than more on the frame since the painting wasn’t extraordinarily valuable. I really appreciated her honest recommendations and I will definitely be back!

I am slightly nervous about posting a review because a selfish part of me doesn’t want Rose to be «discovered» and raise her praises or be booked forever.
She and her husband do a terrific job. I’ve had everything from odd-​sized art (3×10) images mounted and framed, to finding solutions to a very large canvas I needed to hang (5 by 12 feet).
I am a visual artist and they stretched and framed several pieces in my last NYC show.
As an added bonus, Rose is a classy lady with taste and I appreciate her opinions on what might look best regarding frames and mounting. Beyond that, Rose and her husband are just good, sweet people so it’s always a pleasure to swing by their shop.

In addition to making frames, this owner-​operated shop sells a small but high-​quality selection of Chinese ceramics & paintings. This is therefore a good place to look for a nice gift for friend who appreciates Asian or Chinese culture.

I desperately needed to get a sketch of NYC buildings that I drew by hand and looked at well over 8 – 10 places around town. What made it tricky is that it was an odd size (about 15×48ish) and I wanted a mat border around it. I went through rude shop owners («don’t use that color»…um it’s my artwork, idiot!, and «you tell me how much you’re willing to spend and I’ll make you a deal», etc) to great ones who were insanely expensive unfortunately.
Finally, I stopped by Rose’s after reading the reviews on Unilocal and I could not be happier. She was the absolute nicest and most courteous you could possibly be and she helped me along the entire way. The pricing was not the cheapest (more or less middle of the road) but it was definitely reasonable (just a tad over a couple hundred bucks, including oversized mat board and glass and thick wood frame) and the quality was superb. She knew I would be needing it by the end of the week so she said she would try everything she could to get it in by Saturday and she kept her word. She also knew I’d be going across town by subway carrying this oversized frame so she wrapped it with extra protection. Would absolutely go back to Rose’s for any other things I needed framed!

Good price, terrible service. I brought in two images with frames to be matted. I had a matte for one, but not the other. One came out perfect. The other one was a little trickier and she messed it up. I asked her to fix it and she refused. She was worried she would ruin the matte. And after she said that I regretted bringing anything to her. You get what you pay for, I guess.

This is seriously the best place in Manhattan to get frames done and she is reasonably priced. After going to Michael’s (the craft store) and being quoted an insanely high price to get 4 pieces framed, I read about Rose’s gallery and stopped by. Her quote was ¼ the price of Michael’s and she was super helpful in picking out the colors for the mats and the frame type.
The frames turned out beautiful and Rose and her daughter are so wonderful and helpful. Highly recommended!

So, here we go, I’m an adult now. tacking up posters isn’t good enough anymore. I need glass! I need… a frame!
Ok, so as it turns out, getting things framed can suck, and when you live in Park Slope, you really end up paying for a lot more than the framing by going to a local shop, namely, you pay for their rent. So we ventured to China Town for a framing shop and came across Rose’s Gallery. Had a 18×24 made for around $ 40 with glass and a nice thin black frame. Turned out beautiful, and is the focal point of my living room, that is, beside the rug that really ties the room together.
Just dropped off two more things to be framed, One was about 24“x36″ and the other was 24″ x 15″, all together we only paid $ 116. Yes, this is all glass and beautiful frames. Also, Rose is a lovely person and interested in making your frame turn out aesthetically pleasing and most of all making you happy (luckily, she told me when we were looking at an ugly frame, so thanks for the honesty Rose).
