Seventeen Below

OMG, this place was horrendous. I went there for a small event, first they only had one waiter/​server who was also the bartender. These people are so cheap that they had one server working the whole room. They had another guy going around filling glasses for water. We waited forever to even place our order (1 hr or more), then when the guy finally came and took the order, he had a nasty attitude. In the meantime they finally started serving all the other tables their food (turn out some folks who just walzed in but were «VIP» got their order swiftly made — as swift as 1 server can do with a restaurant full of people), SO by 11 pm (2 – 3 HOURS) later, we were so hungry we just left the restaurant to go buy some food and calm our hunger pain. That’s after alerting owner, and server and water boy, many times to finally bring our 3 order of SLIDERS out. THEY WERE SO RUDE TO US, they never expedited our order and kept half-​apologizing. The guy prob never took the order to the back. At some point he screamed at us and claimed he just got our order 15 min ago. It was the worst experience ever, i was so offended. I want to support my black businesses but the service has to be up to par! hmph! In the end, we left hungry and no they did not even OFFER to pay for the drinks we had. All three of us are making sure people know the way were treated. it was so uncalled for. 0 stars!

If for entertainment’s sake alone you are looking for a place where attitude stinks to high heaven and staff ignorance abounds to limits unseen before, look no further than 17 Below. You’ll have a good laugh dealing with the people in the front hall, that is just before you tell them never mind– I’d rather not come in here. One of the reasons so many people come to Harlem for food, music and drink is because of the nurturing relaxed atmosphere. They flip this over on its head. Trying to be a she-​she pompous Los Angeles attitude lounge in the middle of Harlem will only land you reviews like this one. Stay far away, unless you are seriously seeking to entertain yourself with a pack of morons trying to extort you at the door, while the place has few people in it at the same time.
