I frequent Sharom Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger just to see stylist Jennifer Nast. I’ve never left without loving a cut and style! Her blowouts are one of a kind – I wish I could have her blow dry my hair every morning — perfect every time.

Maribeth is fantastic at brow shaping!!! I have never had a problem with any of the staff and have found them to be polite, professional, efficient and very accommodating. I wish I could say the same for a lot of the clientele who routinely exhibit horrible manners. If only they would give their manners the same attention they give to their hair. The last time i was there I was seated next to a terribly rude creature in the reception area who had taken up half the lounge seating with her shopping bags while others were forced to stand. I did offer to move over so as to make room for those who were standing but unfortunately the seemingly oblivious person with the shopping bags and the false sense of importance made zero effort to do so. Sadly this is not the only time I have experienced similar behavior from clientele in this location. It’s just really off putting. Hats off to the wonderful staff who manage to maintain such a courteous and professional demeanor while having to deal with such vulgar behavior on a daily basis.

I’ve been coming to this salon for a few years now and I faithfully see Andy. He is super sweet, listens to everything you want and makes sure you’re happy, I never walk out disappointed. My blowouts always come out so bouncy and full of life. He also helped restore my hair back from a bad haircut a few years ago. My hair is now fuller and healthier. I highly recommend Andy and this salon. The whole staff is professional and friendly!

I was very apprehensive about coming into such a nice salon because I was always used to barber shops but I am very happy I left my comfort zone. I was treated like a king and I got the best haircut of my life thanks to Mia. She transformed my hair into ways I couldn’t imagine and I get complements on it all the time. Mia’s assistant Kuda also did an amazing job and even gave me a head massage with my shampoo. Overall I highly recommend this salon to anybody who wants to feel great after a haircut. I will be back every few weeks to keep my hair on point.

If you’re looking for a luxurious, high end salon on the UES this is your place… Everything is perfect and the décor is gorgeous. Mia gives the BEST haircuts in the city! I always leave looking refreshed and fabulous. You won’t be disappointed with your experience here.

I’ve been seeing Jen for over a year and she never disappoints. She always takes the time to thoroughly talk through what I want. And for the times I can’t put into words what I want, she beautifully translates my scattered ideas into a gorgeous cut. (Especially loving my new «lob» right now!!) I always walk out of there with «super model» hair. I even brought my «picky» boyfriend with me for a cut last time and he absolutely loved her. Now we both go to Jen! :)

I love this place! Everyone there is very inviting and makes you feel welcomed. I go to Jen who’s fabulous and patient. I have never had a bad cut with her and she always listens to what you want and not what she thinks you want. I’ve been going to her for 7 years so that says something! It’s well worth the cost. You will leave there with a new sense of self :)

Went here today for the first time for color. Let me first start by saying I’ve been to all the top-​tier salons in both NY and LA and happen to be VERY picky about who does my color (buttery blonde) and because my current colorist was out of town, I was overdue for my color and desperate to find someone just as fabulous to do it. Enter Solida at Sally Hershberger. She was so fantastic! Very knowledgeable, patient, took lots of time consulting with me before we started so she knew exactly what type of blonde highlights I was looking for. I highly recommend her for color and will go back again! The salon itself is beautiful, very clean and peaceful. I found the whole staff to be very informed and helpful as well, including Andy who did my blowout.

I’m a bitch of client to work with when it comes to my hair; it is my one vanity and after a horrid bob… I was afraid to trust anyone with a pair of scissors in their hand. Then Mia Santiago entered my «hair life» and changed it forever… She has been the only stylist that has shown me how to properly fix my hair where it made sense, and she wouldn’t let me leave until I felt confident on how to style it without her presence. She has taken me from long hair with the perfect curl, to a beautiful updo for my wedding, and when I was finally ready to go short again… she held my hand, then without turning back cut my hair into an amazing «LOB.»

I have been getting my haircuts with Yuval. He does amazing work with my fine hair. He gives me the proper cut for my hair texture and face shape. Yuval takes his time to ensure the cut is precise… I thought I was picky… he is a perfectionist! His blow outs are also amazing! They last me for 3 days. With my fine hair that is quite unusual. I recommend Yuval for his talent and he is also super sweet!

Mia is the only person I will let cut my hair from this point forward. She does such an amazing job and always makes my hair look exactly how I want it. I have naturally curly hair and she is able to blow it out to perfection! The great thing about Mia is the cut still looks good when I want to wear my hair curly.
I highly recommend Mia if you have naturally curly hair!!! She’s the best all around!!!

After getting a nightmare haircut at a salon I had been going to for years, I was referred to Jen. She took the time to go through my «hairspiration» pictures, look at my natural hair texture and growth patterns, explain what was possible immediately and what we could work into, and have me a meticulous haircut that has looked great every day since, whether i style it or not. Not to mention that she gave me the silkiest blow out I have ever gotten… I felt like a Pantene model for a week. Go to Jen! Her approach is thoughtful, she is talented and so easy to talk to :)

I come here exclusively for brow shaping with Maribeth. She is fantastic– what a find. I used to have my brow shaped with Sania (brow Bar), but her move downtown left me hanging.
Maribeth has been working with me for the past six months (every 4 – 6 weeks) and I leave with fantastic clean shapped brows.
Its worth every penny.

First off, I am al personal assistant and my client had an appointment scheduled here before a busy holiday weekend. I will disclose that we did not have any services performed here so this is merely a review of their HORRIFIC customer service. AFTER confirming the appointment with me 3 days prior, I was called the day before to inform me that the colorist’s schedule had changed and there was nothing that could be done about helping my client get her color done. This is unacceptable. If you offer an appointment and confirm it, you should make it work. Tell the colorist’s that she must meet her obligations or schedule us with someone else.
However, I guess this is how things happen here at Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger. The manager Anna offered my absolutely nothing for the inconvenience. She offered no solutions and no perks. Even though she said «If there is anything I could do to make this right, I would.» She didn’t even try to make it right. I suggested maybe we get a «free blow-​dry» and she said that was not possible. Seriously, you just cancelled a color a day before a busy holiday. I guess they think because they charge so much for their services they can treat people this way.
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. It is my job to take care of clients. I do it daily. Always offer a solution, even if it is not exactly what they were looking for. We were first time clients and treated horribly.
The best part. You have to use a credit card to secure an appointment and they will charge you if you cancel with less than 24 hours. However, they don’t offer the same courtesy to the client. No business should be above the client. We, as clients, are what keep their business open. NOT the other way around.

Mia for cut; CK for color. That’s all you need to know!
Mia did such an amazing job on my cut that I received compliments for days. She is not only very talented but she’s very sweet and personable. I really appreciated how she made sure we got exactly what I wanted and my blowout with her was so good it lasted four days! The best thing about Mia is that she just wants to make you look amazing. She’s very genuine.
I also saw CK for highlights. I’m a dark brunette and she made my hair look very sun-​kissed and natural. I will never see anyone but Mia and CK from now on. I have been recommending all my friends to them.

Best salon in the area HANDS DOWN. If you are looking to put in hair extensions, get a haircut, or just get a blowout you NEED to see Mia. She is amazing. Every time I leave her chair I feel like a fabulous glowing princess. Literally. I’ve been going to salon after salon after salon for years and have never had anyone make me hair look more stunning than she does. Every single time. Her blowouts are quick and effortless but have you looking gorgeous afterwards and her haircuts are perfect. She uses «great lengths» for her extensions and does a ridiculously good job. Phase 2 of blondeness has been completed! And I’m well on my way to getting the experience of being a blonde. My hair is much lighter than it was when I walked in.
CK was fabulous — again! All four hours of my hair transformation-​phase2 was professional and fun! I’m not yet at the blondeness that I am achieving, but maybe at my next session (2 months away), I’ll finally be there. Either way — I’m having so much fun in the process.
I was just there about 5 days ago, and I’ve already received compliments from almost everyone I know.

I just had another great hair cut with Danielle Pfeifer, she is the best hair cutter in NY! I have to say that I have very fine hair that takes an experienced stylist to cut, I’ve been to other stylists, and no one cuts my hair like her! She has a way of cutting your hair that it doesn’t look like you have had a severe haircut, I don’t know how she does it, but it looks great till the next cut! Not an easy task when dealing with fine hair.
I always get compliments on my hair, she is an artist when it comes to what you need for your face, shape and lifestyle. I never tell her what to do with me hair-​Danielle just knows and I am always happy with it. She cuts hair dry which lets you know exactly how its going to look!

Spent the weekend in NYC for my birthday recently and decided to treat myself to an «upscale NYC salon hair cut» as my birthday present This salon came highly recommended to me, so decided to give it a whirl. After reading reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give Chris a whirl! I was sooo impressed. He listened very closely to everything I said, and also provided his thoughts and opinions in a non overbearing manner. He took his time cutting my hair and did so with the utmost precision. He had assistant blow me out, and he also did a fantastic job. Overall I was extremely impressed.
The cost is pricey. Cut, wash and blow out were 175. However considering it has Sally’s name on it, and it is by far the best cut and service Ive ever had… Im totally won over and will be back!
