Very friendly staff, decent, if unexceptional pastries, okay coffee. My main problem is, they don’t change up their selections often enough. I ran through the items I was interested in in a few weeks, and now have no reason to go back, as it is always the same stuff.

Everything here is always fresh. Great place to sit outside at the sidewalk tables during summer months. Coffee is tasty. If you are looking for bagels you will need to find somewhere else.

Favorite bakery on UWS. I like the brioche and passion fruit panna cotta.

I was curious to try out this cute little bakery. I thought the blue & white awning looked nice. When I step inside a bakery I’ve never been to before, I like to take my time and look at everything inside the display case. But the cashier person seemed a little impatient with me. I don’t know why. It was still light out and a couple of hours before closing time. Still, I was in need of a sugar fix and some snacky breakfast things. Almond Croissant — buttery & flaky with plenty of almond slivers Éclair — unimpressive, and a little deflated. The chocolate topping didn’t taste very good. Glazed Brioche — This was more like sugary icing on top of bread to me. I was surprised to see everyone giving high remarks to the brioche. I myself found it a little dense. Overall the pastries are okay, nothing to special in my mind. Perhaps I didn’t order the best of their selection, but they didn’t seem to have much to offer at the time that I visited.

This is a real bakery, and a great bakery. Always something new. Everything always fresh and wonderful. It’s popular and crowded. You wait in line and it’s worth it.

Everyone knows the best part of crème brule is the sugar covered hard shelled top. The Silver Moon Bakery on the Upper West Side sells this delicious dessert along with freshly baked breads, cakes, scones and much more. It’s a super cute store which sits right on the corner of the street, and always smells absolutely amazing. Every year for my birthday my mom buys the chocolate cake. it is absolutely amazing. I don’t share it with anyone and I finish the whole thing in that week. It is so rich but not too sweet. There is a layer of chocolate ganache and in between each layer of delicious chocolate cake. I love this bakery.

Ya, here u go! One of the best bakeries you should go in UWS Location: the first time I saw this place was the time I almost was gonna signed my lease living here. Yeah, it is around 105th street, close to 1 train. The bakery shop is small, but luckily they have outdoor seatings. Bakery: I saw lots of new bakery items that I have never tried before. I saw Cruffin, a big muffin sized croissant. And I know I would try it. Then I saw they had many different types of scones, so I went for a maple scone. Both are delicious. Scone is usually dry but here is outstandingly balanced the sweet and made it less dry. Like I put on the tip, get Cruffin! They have surprised amount of chocolate flavor inside and the outlayer is crispy as well. In the very core, there is a chocolate flavor emiting like volcano coming to your mouth. Service and price: service is minimum. They will give you time to choose and usually the line is long. Price is one of the cheapest bakeries I have ever visited. Blessed!!! Overall: a hidden gem a place I will visit constantly in the future! Bravo, 4 stars for the solid bakeries.

Killer lemon tarts but nasty attitude from dude behind the counter on 11/15/2015. No care in tossing the four things I ordered into the box or bag. If you hate your service job, QUIT.

This is a neighborhood gem. Every single baked good is delicious from the scones to the cupcakes. It’s a great place to grab something to go or sit outside and enjoy the smell of their freshly baked bread wafting into the street!

The service and layout are terrible. It’s almost impossible to leave this store happy, because by the time you get through the line and cashier, you almost wish you had not bothered. Too bad, because the baguette is excellent. Please bring in an efficiency person to make this business be what it should be. Finally, stop raising your prices. Every week seems to bring a small price hike, until you realize a year later, that every thing is now a dollar more.

I saw the good reviews and thought I would try out this bakery on the upper west side. Unfortunately my experience was not as good as some reviewers. I only stood in line and left the store(I wish I had stayed and checked my purchase before getting all the way home!) One star only based on 1 purchase — challah bread loaf purchased Friday afternoon. The case was full of these loaves of bread and they all looked how I expected — golden brown shiny crust. … I don’t know how they managed to hide the loaf the lady bagged before I could see it, but it was burnt and dry. NOTIMPRESSED. Will not return — they sneak inferior product into your bag!

Sunday afternoon was quite busy, but there were a ton of pastries and breads left. Staff was very nice. I had an apricot brioche, & it was incredible. Looking forward to trying many more things here, especially the sourdough loaves.

I asked for 2 napoleons… The lady behind the counter is rushing and as she tries to pack them into a bag, accidentally tosses one across the counter and it comes crashing out, crumbs and strawberry bursting out across the counter. Doesn’t apologize and got me a new one so that was good but I didn’t like how reckless she was. Then the cashier was terse and really unfriendly. The napoleons were the worst I’ve ever had. They were way too much pastry and not enough of anything else. It was 80% pasty and 20% cream. I was really disappointed. And it was 5.50 each?! Way too expensive for what it was. A lady next to me bites into her silver moon cake and said: «The frosting on this tastes like a stick of butter!» … Yikes.

The overwhelming smell of freshly baked bread is to die for. Eating entire loaves from this bakery is a vice that I refuse to give up. I love their olive bread but you can’t go wrong with any of their loaves of bread. As far as other pastries go, their almond croissants are pretty good(perhaps a bit too much powdered sugar) but I would pass on their california morning buns. It seems dishonest to even call it that when it is so far off the golden standards of Tartine morning buns. I’ve never eaten in before but all the folks eating in the front in the summer look more than happy and well taken care of!

YUMMY! The chocolate brioche is a must try. Light flaky layers of dough gilded around a mouth-watering chocolate filling and topped with raw sugar. Enjoy alone with you coffee or share with a friend. My daughter and I also shared a quiche, it was about 4″ and filled with leeks and cheddar and the most amazing quiche I’ve ever had. Buttery crust and tender leeks. We also shared a soft pretzel that would make a great vehicle for any selection of lunch meats you have at home.

This is a true neighborhood gen. My fave are the walnut brioche, chocolate chip cookies, palmier, french baguettes! If you plan it right you can actually get a baguette that’s still warm. Whew you can tell I live this place. :) Place is small, but there is outdoor seating/service in the summer time.

I love their chocolate brioche for years but since some of the staffs at the casher were very bad at their service and tried to cheat the change, I’ve not been this bakery for long time. And I came back almost 2 years since last time I visited, the service became much better. The male staff who took my order was nice and kind. I got small Apple tart, espresso roll, orange chocolate roll, and of course signature chocolate brioche.$ 11.9 in total.

I lived in the area for four years and never made it to Silver Moon. Until this weekend. The space is small, but it’s jam packed with lots of breads and pastries. The meh: the coffee. So much better to be found in the area. The good: the sweet pastries. Comparable to others in the area. Solid. The awesome: the bread. Amazing. Fresh. Better than the vast majority of breads in the area. A bit pricey, but I think it’s worth it for the bread loaves and baguettes.

For breakfast, we decided to go to Silver Moon Bakery to order a variety of pastries(cinnamon bun, pecan roll, chocolate croissant, etc) and pick up other breakfast fare. Across the board, the dough was average in texture and taste. They all lacked that fresh delicious essence that comes from amazing baked goods Overall Thoughts Definitely been spoiled by better bakeries

My grandpa was a baker, so I like to believe I can find good bakeries, I tell people«it’s in my blood.» When I found this bakery, I made up my mind, after its sweet treats stole my heart, this is by far my favorite bakery in all of Manhattan! They bake their pastries and breads fresh daily, and you can tell that they not only take time and effort to make a good product, but they also take pride in it too. I am an absolute sucker for their Chocolate Almond Croissant. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night wishing it we’re morning and I were in the city to get one. Be warned, you might have to wait in a line first thing in the morning, but it’s SO worth it!
