This is my favorite place for late night munchies. I always get the same stuff but it’s always done/cooked perfectly! It’s consistently flavored and delicious albeit unhealthy. I always get fish tofu, fishball masago, mini hot dogs, and bacon-wrapped enoki(droool). It does take a really long time to make(unfortunately) but it’s fresh. Also sometimes it’s hard to communicate with people who pick up the phone since their English isn’t not that good — but it’s okay, they will still get the order right. Losing a star because sometimes around 2:30 am — even though this place supposedly closes at 3 am, they’ll stop cooking at this location and ask you to go to their other location to order(49th street and 7th).

Not a bad place to have midnight bbq, I love their rice cake stick :) it taste better if you tell them less sauce or else it’s kinda salty. My hubby love their beef and wings. Order a lot of time from them and they do delivery as well.

Ate here with 3 friends on halloween and we got chicken, beef, fish ball with roe and cheese, squid and rice cake. Absolutely delicious– mild seasoning that can be enhanced by the chili powder provided. It almost got addicting as we had to order another round of the fish ball and rice cake. I am most definitely returning here!

Love how these skewer places are open so late on weekdays and giving me another option besides diner, fast food, and microwavable food or instant noodles。 What’s cool about this place is they deliver and also sit in is still available until they close. I usually go to mr q instead but this place is a friends friend so he insisted to give them business instead which is cool with me. We ordered many different skewers, ranging from meats to vegetables to seafood. Everything was delicious and yummy(no, I was not intoxicated or drunk). I noticed that they wet and flavor the stuff with sauce which I’m not use to and a fan of, normally like it with dry rub + spices, but I’m glad I got to try this place. Saucing it is definitely new to me for these Asian skewer places and it was still pretty good. Still like spices better though!

Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me which skewer spot has the best deal of all? If you don’t know me well, I’m gonna tell you that my guilty pleasure in life are skewers. Yes little barbecued, grilled sticks of meat or veggies. My weak spot usually tends to fall under lamb or bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms. Seeing that the ever popular Simon’s BBQ was popping up every where I’d thought I’d give it a shot to see who grills it better. Like Mr. Grill’s a block away, they also have a seating area. I got an order of BBQ beef, BBQ lamb, BBQ bacon with enoki mushroom. A few items I wanted were sold out which I was surprised since it was pretty early for skewer business. Places like these usually close at 2am or 3 even. I went around 2pm and the BBQ bacon w. chives, BBQ beef with chives and BBQ beef tendon meat ball were already sold out. The meats here were good, about the same quality as Mr. Grill’s. The only thing I don’t like is that they use barbecue sauce. I prefer my skewers to be simple with spices. Honestly it comes down to your own preference, how you like your skewers. This place definitely has more options than Mr. Grill’s and a bigger venue. Take your pick!

Great BBQ Lamb Sticks with enough fat to make it juicy.

Excellent food. Got the chicken wing, chicken wing tips, short ribs BBQ. And also make sure to get the red bean pancake. Everything was great.

I couldn’t find the cart, but I was glad I came in here. Real charcoal bbq grill skewers. Lamb and beef were top notch. Also try the duck neck and short rib. Skewers are less than two bucks each, making them a great snack. Also very reasonable prices on bottled beer(2.75 heineken). Beware the storefront actually faces 53rd street.

We went to this place late one Saturday night when we were looking for delicious food with no frills. Simons nailed it. The menu has tons of meat, veggies and seafood, all really cheap and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was my favorite, along with the bacon wrapped enoki. Drinks were limited but cheap and as it got later, more young locals piled in making it a nice fun atmosphere.

I was driving away from getting bubble tea when I spotted the bright neon sign for this place. I quickly parked my car and walked over. Looking at the menu I wasn’t sure what to order or how it was going to be served. I asked a few questions and to my surprise I found a «food on a stick» restaurant. Meats, vegetables, seafood, and dessert all on a stick!!! The restaurant is small with a few tables for dine in customers, so I decided to get my food to go. I ordered the chicken, lamb, and string beans. The lamb was good, but a bit too tough for my taste. The string beans were well seasoned with great crunch. The chicken was the star of the stick food show. The chicken was very juicy, well seasoned, and a flavor experience from the first bite to the last. I really enjoyed my bbq on a stick and I will return for more very soon.

I went there because the 369BBQ on 61th st was closed few days ago. I tried the spicy chicken wings and corn and I love it! I will definitely go back next time! The only thing they need to improve is to grill faster, I had waited 10mins for few order. Anyway, I’m satisfy with it so far.

The flavor is there but the portions are like micro sized. I see they got to pay for rent now but still! The portions are ridiculous. That doesn’t apply to all skewers but to the lamb and beef. Not sure about the others though. Long wait for 3 skewers. 15 minutes. Honestly I liked them better before they opened up an actual store. And let’s be real… would you be full with $ 5 worth of food here? And there’s tax now?!

Originally I was looking for Mr. Grill and I stumble upon this place! I’ve had their kebabs from the cart so I know this place cant go wrong. I love their décor. It’s very nice, dimmed and relaxed. Perfect spot to chit chat with your friends after work. I love their kebabs here(by far the best in brooklyn). It’s a bit more expensive than the other kebab places. But it’s worth it! Definitely will return!

Been following Simon for a number of years now from the original street cart on 55th street to 49th streets #1 store. They have in my opinion the best BBQ shish kebab skews on 8th avenue. So stopped in to try out some spicy rice cake, tofu, enoki mushroom wrapped in bacon and beef. Wow all for just $ 6.45! Was quite yummy! Plus you have waitress service at this location with seating for about 30 people. There hours are the same as the #1 store location 3 pm to 2 am daily and is $$$$$$$ cash only.

First of all. If you have been to 8 ave then you most likely have eaten something from Simons bbq cart or the new store that opened up here on 53 st and/or 49st. Simon has been doing bbq style snacks for many years and has perfected his craft! Hence the 2 new stores opening within the past six months. Ok. Enough ranting. THEFOODISGOOD! If u dare, try the spicy powder with everything. What a kick! Whats good? The chicken wing, chicken, chicken gizzard, lamb, bacon chives, fish tofu, squid, and. especially the bacon mushroom. In all honesty everything that Simon sells most people like. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed.
