This place is either closed or has moved! I attempted to go here last night and it was nowhere to be found anywhere near 329 W 51st!

GREAT place, favorite in the neighborhood. When I walk the dog, we always stop in to sit with Juan(the owner) and have a quick drink… Great vibe, always a very eclectic crowd, great music, great drinks. My boyfriend and I threw a joint party there this year for our birthdays. a saturday night. from 10-close and he just closed the place down for us to have a private party. No charge, no minimum, no cover. but we did promise 40 + people and boy did we deliver. It was Packed In there that night, and was definitely a night to remember!!! Love sortie!

It was on a Friday night and sadly the place never really got going no matter how many ticks the clock made. Came here to meet up with some friends around 10 and had a few drinks and danced just a smidge. The drinks were strong and, i thought, cheap. There was a back room that was semi private and a whole lot cuter than the rest of the space. I wasn’t really grabbed by the space or people. However I did notice a large mixed crowd, due in large part to being next to Vlada.

Very cute spot! I got here around 6pm on a Thursday evening, hoping to find it would not be overly crowded and that we’d be able to get a drink without a problem. The service was great. Be sure to ask for their happy hour special. They had a $ 6 martini of the day, which was a chocolate banana martini. Mmmm. Delicious. They also have a daily wine and beer special. I had a glass of the $ 6 Malbec they had on special and it was quite good. They served in stemless wine glasses and martini glasses, which I loved. Made it easier to not spill! NOTE: NOLONGERSERVINGFOOD :(Main disappointment would definitely be the absence of food! I had found the spot on Unilocal and read the MenuPages listing, which looked fabulous. Sweet and savory crepes? Sign me up! But oh so denied. They permanently closed their kitchen last week. Such a pity. The other thing I wasn’t too keen on was the music volume. It was not bad when I first arrived, but they proceeded to crank the music up way too high based on the amount of people in the place. I felt it detracted from the chic feel it had before. Nice crowd though. By the time we left a little after 7, it was really starting to get packed in there…

Ok so I’m a little biased. I helped plan an happy hour event at Sortie and the event turned out to be completely successful! The place was a really cute environment where everyone could just sit and chat. Sad that 2 drinks that I wanted weren’t available and I had to go with the Corona, but whatever. As for price, a little pricey, and we were unaware of the happy hour menu… but the owner is super nice(Juan) and the bartenders were nice as well. Our group of 50-ish blew $ 1k in an hour… EEEP! But I’m sure they loved our business. Décor is really nice — dark lit with candles. They also have a food menu that had crepes which I thought was pretty good… the organization of the bar was a little messy, but we still got our drinks. The drinks are strong BTW, and many people said that it was«interesting.» Oh well, people seemed to have a great time! I’d probably go back again in the future… as long as the group is smaller and I know more people :)

SOCUTE! Atmosphere is amazing, dark, and romantic. Would recommend for smallish groups and couples who wanna snuggle up close. They have a belly dancer on certain nights… drinks are good AND apps are too… Staff is nice and chill.

Used to live down the street from Sortie and stumbled upon it one day. The place was really low key and loungey — perfect for meeting a friend or small group for drinks. There’s a bar in the front and then couches and small tables through the back. Not sure if they have food but they have a good wine selection and a full bar. There were two guys performing live music when I went which was a nice treat. All the other people there seemed to be locals and were all very friendly.

A cute little hangout. Not flashy at all. One of my friends actually walked right by it because she was expecting that there would be a big sign. Comfortable couches. Good for small groups or couples. They serve savory and sweet crepes and gallettes during dinnertime. My friends and I only tried the savory ones(spinach, cheese and mushroom; salmon and onions; and proscuitto and cheese) but they are quite delicious! Service is attentive but not overbearing. Overall, a very relaxing atmosphere.

Shwanky! Me like! It’s actually not that shwanky, but it feels that way. Reminds me a bit of Kemia, but redder and smaller. Nice wine selection, I had a German Riesling and a something wonderful from Grenada, the waitress knew the wines really well. Looks decent for food, my coworker got some calamari and my only problem was no tentacles… dude, you gotta have the tentacles. It’s close to work, and has some good tunes, good happy hour(although I didn’t notice and drink specials… maybe I didn’t look hard enough? I was ordering wine anyway), and great service. Nice.

FOR A GREATFIRSTDATEFORDRINKS, GOTOSORTIE… You can’t go wrong :) Phenomenal late night date spot. Very dimly lit and creates a phenomenal atmosphere. Great music, attentive staff and the couches are perfect for relaxing and sharing a great bottle of wine in this swank, hidden spot. Its easy to miss, as its tucked away on W. 51st street. Haven’t tried the food, but their vodka and wine selection is exceptional.

So sexy. So sheek. So Sortie. I have yet to be here during their infamous happy hour. Prefer to skip the crowd. I love taking people here whenever we’re looking to grab a couple of drinks in a relaxed atmosphere and just talk. Got a hot date? Go here on a weeknight, there will be plenty of spots for you to get your game on. Red velvet couches, mirrors, and«mood» lighting, the décor of this place is aesthetically pleasing and complements its overall feel. Their kitchen stays open pretty late so if you’re looking to midnight snack, order the fries, they’re pretty good. The drinks are pretty expensive but probably the norm in price range for the area, unless you want to try the pub down the street.

A friend had a birthday party here last night and I was pleasantly surprised to see many new venues in the theater district. The atmosphere was good and the crowd well mixed and cool. Our service was excellent(Amy?). The burger I ordered came back different from how I ordered it but it was tasty nonetheless. They made it up to us by bringing us a couple free drinks, much appreciated. This is a good place to hang out to hear some decent music and chill.
