love their Thai iced tea and curry puffs appetizer. Must try it. I wasnt big fan of their chicken fried rice.

Oh, Spice. I wanted you to be my new go-to after moving from the west side to the east side, but alas, I’m just not that into you. I’ve had better relationships with Thai restaurants with faster delivery and more delicious food and cheaper food(Thai Market and Sookk, I’m looking at you. Take me back?). It’s not that you’re bad, it’s just these guys have given me such joy in the past that my expectations are a bit high now. I’ll continue to survey my UES options, and I’m sorry it couldn’t have been you.

We ordered delivery a week or so ago and the food was OKAY– way too salty, which is common amongst many restaurants, so perhaps can not blame them for this. The pad thai lacked flavor– not salt– else where in mahattan, I have definitely had better– but it wasn’t bad. I am not sure if this place is owned by the same folks as the Union Sq Spice, but compared to Union Sq location the food here is definitely lacking but for the area(UES) it is a «2−3 star”– Delivery took almost 1.5hrs. so you have to be patient!

Went because I had to meet up with one of my good friends and he works nearby– I wanted Thai food and somewhere with a nice outside patio since it was a gorgeous day out– it fit my criteria minus unfortunately the food– I ordered a beerlao dark while waiting and I have to admit, I’ve never seen it anywhere else and it was awesome! hands down deliciousness~~ As far as the food goes though, I guess they offer an app+entrée combo for lunch and ordered the steamed veg dumplings+green curry fried rice but everything was so darn salty that I could not taste anything BUT that. It was quite unfortunate– it was my first time being there but I don’t think I will be back there anytime soon.

I’ve never actually been TO Spice, I’ve only ordered take-out from here when I work on the UES. The lunch special is simply ridiculous. You get an appetizer and an entrée for like $ 7 – 8 which is obscene because the portions are huge and I usually end up eating half for lunch and half for dinner. Appetizer: The shrimp fritters are soooo good and very filling. They give you FIVE fritters and a dipping sauce. I’m salivating just thinking about them now. Yum! Entrée: I usually get the curry(the green and red are both awesome with TONS of veggies) or the Pad Thai with chicken. Seriously, they give you the biggest portion of Pad Thai, I’ve never been able to eat the entire thing. I like that they don’t skimp on the chicken or the fresh chopped peanuts in the Pad Thai. The only downside is that sometimes the delivery takes FOREVER(which is understandable during the lunch hour rush). Occasionally, my shrimp fritters have been a little cold because it took them too long to deliver. I don’t really mind though because they still taste good, and for that price and quality, you really can’t complain.

I love my pad thai spicy, so maybe that’s why I didn’t find their pad thai too appealing. I still come back here from time to time though because I enjoy their lunch special and it is a good deal. From 11:30am to 4:00pm, you can get a complimentary a complimentary appetizer and an entrée for $ 7 – 9 depending on your order. The SPICE cashew nuts is delicious, it’s a bit spicy which I love.

The stars are for the food and the food alone. Such a pity too– I absolutely LOVE Spice’s downtown locations, but the service I experienced here was inexcusable. I shouldn’t have to sit at the BAR of all places and stare as servers pass me without so much as a ‘hello’ for ten minutes. Finally I was forced to ask for my menu, and then to order. The manager of all people was about 10 feet to my right the entire time. He said nothing. I’ve currently been sitting for about 10 more minutes as people ambled by my empty plate without so much as asking me if I needed anything else. I’m honestly disappointed since I’ve held Spice in such high regard after previous experiences. This location, however needs some major work in the hospitality department.

Having gone to college at NYU, it goes without saying that the Union Square Spice was a big part of my undergraduate experience. When I saw Spice on the UES I thought, «To wealthy Upper East Siders, Spice’s $ 7.50 lunch special must be where plebeians go to get their greasy, uncouth meals.» Of course, full-time grad student that I am, that was no deterrent for me. Unfortunately, unlike Union Square Spice, where that $ 7.50 lunch set is cheap and tasty, UES Spice actually does serve a greasy, dare I say it, uncouth meal. There were a number of flaws here I wouldn’t expect from the Spice name: 1) My thai iced tea was like water… I’ve never had a blander, thinner tasting thai iced tea before. 2) I ordered the steamed dumplings with black bean vinaigrette but got served fried dumplings with sweet chili sauce. 3) I got the broad black noodles and wow was it greasy. I could spoon out spoonfuls of oil from those noodles. They were also exceptionally salty. On the way out a lady next to me got those fried dumplings for her appetizer. Mine came as an order of 4 in a bowl of chili sauce… hers were three on a skewer on a plate of chili sauce. I thought her plating was cool but was turned off even further by the inconsistency in portion size. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecies… Spice is on the cheap side of food options on the UES but boy, does UES Spice embrace the fact that they serve cheap food.

Great food and very helpful staff. We ordered the following: Chicken Satai(a thai standby) Crab Rangoon(yummy and not greasy) Chicken Pad Thai(large portion that was yum) Chicken with garlic and vegetables(very delish and flavorful) They also packed me up two thai ice teas to go. We will definitely come back for our Thai fix!

I really like this place, good service, delicious food, and very good prices, not sure what more one could ask for! I’ve been here twice so far, the first time i had the chicken pad thai which was quite a big and filling dish, the chicken was tender and juicy(not dry as i’ve experienced at other places) and just delightful! The second time, i tried a dish my friend recommended«Phuket pineapple fried rice» and that was absolutely amazing! The dish was HUGE for one, but the meal itself was amazing with succulent chicken and an amazing blend of flavors and spices that make this by far the dish i recommend the most!

Good, seasoned, inexpensive Thai food with friendly and fast service. This location isn’t nearly as nice as the Union Square location, but it sufficed. They have mega drinks. Yes… mega drinks! Based on principal alone, I couldn’t pass that up. I had the mango mojito which was extremely delicious. My friends had other mega cocktails which they enjoyed. For appetizers we had the calamari and chicken wings which were both great. We shared four entrees: Drunk man noodles(good), 6’oclock train fried rice(good but a little spicy for me), grilled salmon(really good) and the seafood combo(good).

Some friends and I dragged our tired, hungry bones in after a long day one Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is pretty casual/modern, so staying in is definitely an option. The service was pretty on point and the waiter was able to help us to select an appropriate sized shareable feast for a group our size. We order he drunk something, teriyaki salmon, the seadfood combo and fried rice, plus calamari and chicken as appetizers. Everyone at the table was happy. The food is tasty, but not the best Thai food ever given the many options in NYC, but you won’t be disappointed either. They also serve drinks. My friends and I decided to each order a «mega-sized» drink which basically means we got individual carafes of mixed drinks with a straw in it. Awesome! Also, if you live in the nabe, this place delivers.

BESTPADTHAIINTHEWORLD!!!(at least where I’ve been…) I first came here 3 years ago and loved their pad thai. Since then, every Thai restaurant I went; I would always order pad thai. NO one comes close to this place. Finally I gave up and went into the city just for this! And to me, it’s still the BESTPADTHAI I’ve ever had. The thai iced tea is very good. The curry puff is good but not the best. Please don’t EVER change your pad thai recipe…

This specific venue is beautiful. Cushioned seating, waiters dressed in smiles, and quick service makes this place perfect. A friend and I came here around 2:30pm and it wasn’t crowded at all– very mellow actually which I like. Weekday lunch specials for under $ 10. Good value, good food, good deal. Just a tip: When something is stipulated as spicy on the menu, trust that it’s extremely spicy. I should’ve taken the waitress’ hint when she asked me if I was sure I wanted the red curry plate, but I’m stuck in my ways and ordered it anyway. It was still really good!
