I joined Oval Concierge because the neighborhood businesses that used to accept packages closed, and after I began relying on the postal service several packages went «missing». Although I pay $ 20 a month to Oval Concierge — whether or not I have any packages delivered — I figured it was worth it because I would always know when something was delivered. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Today, for the second time, I had to track packages and then call Oval Concierge and tell THEM something was waiting for me! I was told that notification is automatic, not manual. Either way, something isn’t working.
When there were local stores that accepted my packages, I was always notified, I only paid when there was a delivery (not monthly) and it took less time for me to pickup the package. So now, out of necessity, I am paying for a much more expensive, time –consuming service that is sometimes unreliable. Sad state of affairs!

This is a review of the Oval Concierge housecleaning service. I used them during a particularly busy period at work, and wasn’t home while the apartment was cleaned. I, therefore, have no idea how long they stayed, but I can tell you that the cleaning was unbelievably cursory. I totally understand that no one is going to scrub on hands and knees, but they really just did a surface job. They wiped the bathroom sink and left a blob of toothpaste — wiped right over it and didn’t remove it. I really thought that for the money I’d get a decent cleaning — the equivalent of what I normally do on a weekly basis. This was not worth the price.

My use of the concierge is limited to using their cleaning services mostly. And, this had never been a good experience. They are very polite, but what they promise and what turns out to be are rarely the same thing. For instance, on Friday I booked a 10am basic cleaning job for Monday. I had someone in the apartment to let them in. No one shows. I call at 11am and am told that they meant someone would be there between 10am and 3pm! NOT remotely the conversation I had on Friday. Then they said it was a mix up and she can come on Tuesday. The cleanings themselves are hit and miss. It is a shame because it should be so convenient and simple for us residents. Regretfully this will be the last time after many chances.

Oval Concierge has improve significantly. I had major problems with notification about deliveries. The front desk staff and delivery people are much more professional than in the past.

Honestly, Oval Concierge is a hit or a miss. If you have to drop off or pick up a package they tend to misplace or sometimes lose things. They’re several employees that work at the front desk and their attitudes range from bubbly to always frowning (or it seems). They offer a lot of different services like apartment cleaning and laundry services, but their services offered tend to be more costly than a lot of others throughout the city.

They lose stuff. They sign for thing and don’t tell you they have them. When you ask for them to look for stuff they sign for they won’t. They don’t sign for things they should and blame the post-​office. There’s never a manager to speak with. Now, thanks to lack of business, they close early. Save the frustration and let your neighbors sign for your packages.
