3÷12÷16 — went tonight for a few macaroons and found out that this location is officially closed. =(

Wife loved the small collection of house made chocolates I got her which included coconut, a 70% dark chocolate and a hazelnut. They were done differently than we expected, much to our pleasant surprise. Highly recommend trying out their chocolates, she enjoyed them more than many other shops, some of which sell for even higher prices!
Customer service there isn’t the best, but nothing that prevents enjoyment of the goods.

Rich and luscious macaroons!
Able to taste a variety and I would have the Strawberry Poppy and Green Tea as my favs. Definitely a great grab after brunch at the area. Oh and those chocolate ducks seems like a nice treat.

I stopped by here with a few friends after dinner for dessert. We did not regret the decision, the macaroons we to die for. I had gotten the passion fruit and espresso flavored macaroons. I loved both of them, makes me wish I could have some for every hour of the day. The store is also like a little attraction all the chocolate figurines were so nicely done that you wouldn’t even believe it was chocolate. The look like porcelain figurines cause the chocolate is so perfectly tempered and designed. I will be coming back to try the brunch menu which I heard is great as well.

I tried their chocolate macaron here, and while I do appreciate that they seem to mix some dark with milk chocolate in their macarons, I thought that the cookie was just too sweet and overly powering. The store itself also seemed a little childish, but I give them props if they are just trying to appeal to a younger audience. It seemed to me they should be more focused on selling big items like chocolate cakes and such instead of more complex and delicate desserts like macarons.

OK, I think this is what happened. The whole purple color/​carousel themed decorations got me under a spell, and I ended up walking out of the shop with a bunch of chocolates and macarons in my hands, like a crazy woman on a shopping spree.
As soon as I put some in my mouth, I had a moment of confusion questioning myself had I bought some sweets from CVS. The macarons were something comparable to the ones sold in shopping malls; the chocolates simply reminded me of typical store-​bought milk chocolates. Yes unfortunately, there’s nothing extraordinary about these little sweet confections– in fact, I’d say the only thing «extraordinary» would be its inexplicably overpriced cost. I’d skip and look for better places (there are TONS on Bleecker street!)

The bag was dirty. really dirty.
When I opened the bag at the hotel I found dust inside the bag, At the bottom of the bag, there are dust and one candy which I never ordered. I bought the chocolates, which was supposed to be a gift for my mother-​in-​low.
The shop was cute, but it was unforgivable to be given such a dirty bag.
I cannot understand why the bag was so dirty. I believe, if the bag was unsanitary as such, the foods is also definitely unsanitary.
I want to return it!!!

Rate is solely on the following macaroons: Banana Milk Chocolate, Rosewater Lychee and Cappuccino. The Lychee wasn’t that distinct so I won’t order again. The other two flavors were wonderful — intensely of flavor and not overly sweetened. Fair prices for macaroons. Other desserts are sold as well. Counter seating in the front.

What a beautiful boutique!!! I didn’t even know they had a back room for ice cream creations and waffles. Everything in the store calls my name, from the macaroons to the gorgeously crafted chocolates to the homemade by grandma looking cookies. Really hard to choose what to get, but once you settle for a sweetly handmade treat, you will be transported to new highs of deliciousness. Also, the lady who took care of us was so so so sweet, welcoming, extra professional and gave us background as to where things were made and who was behind this awesome store. Definitely a must check out on Bleeker :)

pretty simply put, this place looks better than it tastes.
I’m not a fan of pricing things so ridiculously high that you can only afford to buy 2 pieces of chocolate without breaking the bank.
Was also disappointed in the late I ordered which did not taste very good but cost almost $ 6.
I think there are better options if you’re trying to fill your sweet tooth in the city

Fifty degrees and barely hungry? Time to try that new ice cream place. This shoppe specializes in macarons — but there’s so much more to try.
Place is tiny, with an Amy’s Bread-​esque setup of sweets in front. Then there’s the back section with all the ice cream/​milkshake/​smoothie/​waffle concoctions you can imagine.
Ended up with the Monkey Business sundae ($ 9) — peanut butter ice cream, bananas, nuts, caramel swirls, and whipped cream awesomeness. Well prepared and extremely filling (ice cream had some ice crystals, but not a big deal).
A tad more expensive than some bakeries, but in line with others. Yet the options here are amazing. Would go back for some more decadent dessert.

My friend & I were looking for a place to satisfy our sweet cravings & this place definitely delivered; from the friendly service to the DELICIOUS macaroons, cupcakes, & cookies. Most definitely will be coming back to revisit this SWEET establishment!

I came here for the macarons. The store set up is really cute, and the location is great. This place definitely has the air of a fancier desert/​chocolate store.
I got a few macarons. I really enjoyed the consistency of them all. They had the perfect amount of crunch and chew! However I felt all of them just lacked flavor and sweetness. I probably would not buy from here again because there are better places to go to in the area.

Not as big and beautiful as the UES location but still have some of the best macarons in the city.
If you haven’t tried their strawberry poppyseed macaron then you havent lived. The texture and flavor of these macarons are my favorites and i crave them everytime i have a sweet-​tooth.
They also recently featured a banana-​chocolate macaron. I bought some for a friend’s birthday but i couldnt help grabbing one for myself aswell.
YUM! This baby was covered in dark chocolate. Its what every good dessert should be, indulgent but worth the guilt.
The girls that work at this location are super nice, this goes for their flagship store aswell. The mixture of the fun and creative interior and delicious sweets just makes Sugar & Plumm perfect. Make this location a spot to check out, especially if you have out of town guests.

$$$$$$$$$$ — OMG LOL
There has to be some logic between «let’s mark up our prices because we consider our product to be above and beyond the norm» and «what people are actually willing to pay for our product — which let’s face it, is JUST sweets, not precious metal».
While my macaron was decent, I’m not sure if it deserved its $ 2.50 price point. The tiny pieces of chocolate also cost a pretty penny. I get that this price is somewhat comparative with other pastry stores in the city, but it really wasn’t THAT good.

I haven’t been to their FLAGSHIP «bistro» yet up on the Upper West Side. Fortunately, I was down in the village yesterday to meet up with a friend for coffee and found Sugar & Plumm’s satellite store right on a corner of Bleecker Street.
The store is brightly lit with a decent variety of macaroons, cookies, baked items, artisanal chocolates, gifts, and tempting sweets and desserts. What caught my eye was the Crème Brulee cookie and the macaroons.
Crème Brulee Cookie: This was very good. There are actually «fillings» of Crème Brulee inside the cookie, great crumbly texture, and it was a pretty good size as well. It’ll run you $ 3.50 per piece but worth it (similar size to Insomnia Cookies’ «Deluxe» size which are $ 3.00)
Macaroons: They will run you at $ 2.50 which can seem expensive but I heard that they are made using the freshest ingredients with all natural flavors and no preservatives. The variety of colors were very absolutely beautiful. I overheard one of the staff telling one of the customers that ALL of their macaroons taste exactly like what the label says and contain no chocolate with the exception of several. I got three: Strawberry Poppy, Violet Black Currant, and Rose Lychee. I like the Violet Black Currant the most as I could really taste the actual ingredients. Rose Lychee was alright. Strawberry was just sweet. I don’t know why but maybe it’s a guy thing but as for me, Macaroons are just pleasant to look at and taste basically the same no matter what flavor they are… or maybe that’s just me lol
I heard they also have other dessert items like sundaes, milkshakes, and waffles but I usually don’t eat too much dessert so that’s a bummer. Not sure if this location has a food menu as it’s really a tiny store offering limited selections compared to their FLAGSHIP Upper West Side «Bistro».
Not a bad place to pick up a slightly fancy yet casual dessert post dinner near the village. I’m gonna try to visit their UWS flagship soon to try their Ebelskivers and other food items in a more larger setting as this place was really small and because they were closing for the day shortly after I arrived.

I wandered in here with a couple girlfriends after a wonderful meal across the street with no particular expectations.
The chocolates and macarons looked great, but I was feeling like ice cream and regrettably ordered a scoop of mint chip. Probably the worst ice cream I’ve ever had — I actually didn’t finish the single scoop.
My friends, however, ordered banana nutella ebelskivers without even knowing what they were and completely scored. They took forever to be made, but were well worth it. Deliciously-​sweet little pancake-​doughnuty thingys — they were sinful and yummy.
There’s an odd set up to this severely-​lighted shop — we actually wound up sitting with strangers at the strange conference room table in the back. Not unpleasant, just odd. Decent coffee, nothing to write home about.

Have gone three times in a month.
Needless to say I love their macarons.
I tried the chocolate and it was good, but salted caramel is my go-​to order now.
At 2.25 it’s a costly treat, but it is so worth the treat,

This new location of the Upper West Side sweet shop doesn’t have quite as much stuff, and no sit-​down restaurant, but the stuff they do have looks great.
The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was that they have huge samples of Chocolate Bark as well as Almond Croissants out for the taking. I’m curious to see how long this lasts after opening, because you can pretty much make a meal off these huge samples.
The next thing I noticed was the large selection of Easter treats. They have some really insane stuff, most of which looks kind of overpriced (e.g. a $ 95 huge chocolate egg), but they are all cool looking and nice for the holiday.
I just had dessert before stumbling upon this new place, so I wasn’t really able to try much. The Almond Croissant was very buttery and good, and the cookies all looked really good. They also had a wide variety of macarons, enough to make Bisous Ciao, the tiny macaron shop a few doors down, scared for their future here.
The concentration of good dessert spots around here is really reaching a saturation point (Cones, Grom, Victory Garden, Bisous Ciao, 16 Handles, Milk & Cookies and now Big Gay Ice Cream Shop, etc.), but the stuff here is good enough that I’ll definitely be back to try some more of it.
