They advertised a free desert with a good Unilocal review, but they refused the offer so I’m doing an honest review. The food was nothing too special. The wasabi and ginger didn’t seem fresh. I didn’t personally care for the octopus balls, but the squid was good. The service was ok. $ 25 per person seemed a little much for the quality.

Excellent value for the $$$. Lots of roll options for AYCE. Make sure your appetizers come out first, or they’ll arrive after you’re stuffed.

Really delicious and fresh fish! I was a little disappointed that the all you can eat didn’t include handrolls and the sushimi charge wasn’t included in the $ 25 itself, however the rolls were delicious. They have amazing special rolls as well as sushi pieces.

If you’re not looking for ayce, try the party tray. I came here with 2 gfs, party tray filled us up easily, at half the cost of acye. The restaurant had 3 sushi chefs, but we sill waited 30 minutes for our food to come. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re limited on time.

I came in with a party of 3 on a Thursday night and ordered a sushi platter, which consisted of 6 rolls. The service was extremely slow, as there were many customers in the patio. We waited for about 30 minutes before our sushi was served. The waitress was apologetic about the long wait time and gave us free miso soup. The sushi was solid and service was good, but it took too long for the food to be served. I’m willing to give this spot another try in hopes that it will not require 30 minutes for 6 rolls of sushi to be made. Overall, the sushi was good and the price was fair.

I came here with my GF on saturday looking for that familiar AYCE sushi fullness. the level of fullness that makes you feel like you robbed the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The AYCE is $ 25 a person for dinner and weekends, which is a reasonable price for NYC. The menu has good options including special rolls you can find at other sushi joints for easily $ 12-$ 15 per roll. At $ 25, we were able to eat 56 pieces(NOREGRETS) — well worth more than what we would have paid from an a la carte menu. The sushi itself came in pretty large pieces and the fish was better than expected. It was fresh and has variety. To get sashimi(without rice), you would be charged $ 1 a piece even with the AYCE menu, not sure if this is the norm. Appetizers on the AYCE menu were a good modest size so you don’t get too full from it and you can take leftovers home for $ 1 a piece if you overdo it. Overall, a pretty good place for the occasional sushi-craving savagery. Would probably come back again!

I was here last night and it’s pretty good. It’s BYOB which is a plus. We brought a 6 pack of beer that was twist off and had no corking fee charged. My fiancé ordered a Sapporo and it was warm, definitely never refrigerated. We did AYCE. The sushi was decent and for the price was good. I ordered 20 pieces of nigiri and they were all delicious We tried a whole bunch of rolls and they were all good. The space is nice but next time we are gonna eat outside because everyone was requesting it. The alcohol prices didn’t look that bad and next time we may even just order sake from them. The servers were very polite and we did not feel rushed at all. 2 people AYCE, a beer, and a BYO six pack later and the bill was $ 60; not bad. We will be back to this sushi restaurant.

Sushi Para 88 NY Manhattan West Village 1pm Sushi Sunday 29th May 2016 Five Stars On this beautiful Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend, I couldn’t imagine eating hot food. So I went to eat some raw fish. I had the whole place to myself so I sat at the bar. I started with the Veggie tempura. The batter was airy but thickly covered. The Japanese Squash, Onion, Eggplant, Broccoli, and Yam were all delicious. I moved on to Nigiri. Each order is one piece. I had the Yellowtail, White Fish, and White Tuna. The rice was plentiful, sweet, and loosely packed. The fish was fresh and well sized. I also ordered the Rainbow and World Series Rolls. The California roll with its Krab meat, thin cucumber slices, and ripe avocado was decent. The World Series Roll had tempura fried soft shell crab inside with Tuna, Avocado, and eel on top. The crunchy texture paired creamy avocado, salty eel, and fresh tuna was great. The next round included a plethora of Nigiri. I had ruby red tuna, not too rubbery Squid, tender Octopus, fresh red snapper, flavorful mackerel, and two types of eggs. The fish size shrank a little from the first round. The masago and ikura were great because the portion of saltiness to rice was perfect. I had an Alaska Roll which was made by the head chef and quality and taste was so much better. The fish was bigger and cut better; the rice was thinner and more evenly spaced. I finished with a bowl of warm miso soup. It was $ 25 because it’s Sunday instead of the usual $ 20 for lunch. They had a sign for free Mochi but it was inapplicable today.

Small space, but good for larger parties. $ 25 a head for all you can eat sushi is a very good deal, and there is a wide selection(appetizers, sushi, rolls, special rolls). BYOB, also nice(although there’s a corking fee per bottle). The sushi was brought out all on one platter, making it difficult to decipher who ordered what. It’s great for sharing, harder if someone in the party has a dietary restriction. So definitely ask for rolls to be separate if you are so inclined. The staff are a bit rushed, but also very efficient. It’s clear that English isn’t their first language, but that’s no reason to be rude to them(I’m mentioning that after witnessing another rude customer).

The $ 25 all you can eat sushi is a good deal though probably better with a larger group. I went with one other friend and we managed to eat a little more than four rolls which was just slightly cheaper than it would have costed otherwise. BYOB is fun but if you bring beer they charge a dollar for every one they open for you. Not sure if it is different if you have your own bottle opener. Most of the rolls were pretty good but the World Series roll was just overly hardened tempura stuff with shrimp tails. When I brought this up to the staff they just said sometimes that happens. They didn’t seem concerned at all that I didn’t get a single roll with actual shrimp meat in it. The Godzilla roll was great though so I would just say to stay away from tempura and shrimp.

Great new place! Try everything, you won’t be disappointed. We went for happy hour on a whim and it was exactly what we were craving. We didn’t get the all you can eat, but for $ 25 it’s a great deal!

Nice little place and decent price, the only draw back was the loads of rice that they filled in all of our rolls and sushi. We didn’t even order that much, but it was almost painful to eat the excessive rice. No sashmi just sushi with blocks of rice attached lol… Overall quality was good and flavor was there. I can’t complain!

We came here for another AYCE sushi, and I was very impressed. Firstly, the fish is abundant and the presentation very beautiful, for mass sushi. Everything was very fresh, and I especially liked the spicy salmon rolls, nigiri, and tuna sushi(although, everything is pretty good here). We didn’t get any appetizers besides edamame and miso soup, and those hit the spot perfectly. There is a small corking fee, and everyone has to finish their sushi or else you get charged, but this truly is a great deal. Would come back again and again! They also take reservations, for those who want to come with a group, although the restaurant was pretty empty on a Tuesday night.

Bad service. The server forgot appetizers and everything else we asked for. We had to keep asking for a bowl of rice and we didn’t get it at all. Good food. Not the freshest sashimi but it was not terrible.

Great deal! I wish I had known about this place before. You can order as many sushi as you want for a solid $ 25 for dinner. The food is good for a buffet. They make it as you order so it’s fresher than other buffets that leave the sushi out. Also the service is great! They brought my food out timely, took away empty plates and always refilled my water. BUT don’t drink too much water, you’ll get full quickly and won’t appreciate your food. And of course, you have to be careful… If you don’t eat all the sushi you order they will charge you a dollar for each piece that you leave. There’s a key to eating at buffets: pace yourself. Don’t order all at once!

This restaurant is such a unicorn — AYCE sushi *and* BYOB. What a dream come true. It’s so reasonably priced, service is great and the sushi is fresh. The all-you-can-eat sushi includes appetizers and nigiri as well. My only complaint is that they make you eat literally every single piece of sushi. Most AYCE places will let you leave one or two pieces, but this place will charge you. Our group of three had two pieces left and they made us eat it… Come on.

AYCE + BYOB + Fresh Sushi = slap me in the face and make sure I’m not dreaming! LOL That is what Sushi Para 88 brings to the table. Not only was it good for a AYCE sushi spot it was one of the freshest sushi places I have eaten at. The sushi was made to order and the rolls were huge and fully stuffed it is what a sushi roll supposed to taste like. No only can you order Specialty rolls but you can order a selection of appetizers as well. All for a measly $ 25. In my book that is a bargain in itself but that’s not all, you can wash all that food down with the adult beverage of your choice because it’s also BYOB! Yummy, yummy, yummy I got love in my tummy!!! The service was incredible, Cindy was our waitress. She was very helpful and attentive toward our table and was very nice and sweet. The food was surprisingly pleasantly phenomenal. Going into an AYCE sushi is always a crap shoot. But after reading reviews from fellow amazing Unilocalers, Thanks Unilocalers. But It was my cousins birthday celebration in the city so us two and his girl were looking for a sushi place to eat without putting a hole in our wallets. We decided on sushi Para 88. And to tell you the truth the AYCE/BYOB sushi search has come to a screeching halt. Sushi Para 88 has all the components for me to keep coming back hungry for more and fulfill my sushi craving. Compliments to Sushi Para 88 it was an eye opening experience.

Honestly one of the best AYCE sushi deals currently. $ 25 for dinner and BYOB. The only gripe I have is that sashimi is not included, but BYOB is worth it. Came on a Saturday night at 7 and there was no one in the restaurant, but it was packed by the time we left. I think you could get away without a reservation. The food was pretty good as well. The special rolls were my favorite. They also had nigiri rolls and kitchen options, such as shumai and takoyaki. But remember, it’s still AYCE so don’t go expecting sushi by Jiro or anything. The service was great. My friend requested ONE single takoyaki ball and behold that was what he received. So funny. Would be back. Great for birthday celebrations.

Randomly visited this spot after a night out with the bf. Always interested in trying new restaurants especially those who sell Udon Noodles . The bf ordered the yellowtail and chicken teriyaki and I ordered one of their specials Spicy Blue Crab with avocado & eel. All 3 of the dishes were well made & delicious. Those were the positives. On the negative end, our waitress wrote down our order but some how the yellowtail never made it. The bf had to ask the waitress was the order entered and appears there was some confusion between her and the Itamae(sushi chef). After finishing our dishes we decided to order the Key Lime Cheese Cake which left much to be desired. The cheesecake itself was frozen in some places and it had a weird stick texture on the top which is where the key lime flavor was. Being that they specialized in sushi I didn’t expect much but was hoping for at least a Mrs. Field’s inspired cheesecake but epic fail . Overall we had a good experience with our main dishes which was most important. Minus the cheesecake & extra wait for the yellowtail we had a good experience.
