This is the worst T-Mobile outlet in NYC! They will steal from you if you are not careful! Stay away! I went with a friend to the T-Mobile store on 125th St. to upgrade his iPhone 4S to a more current model, the iPhone 6S Plus(64GB). Unfortunately, the corporate-owned store on 125th did not have that model in stock. We called around to find out which T-Mobile store might have this model in stock. I happened to call the store in question which was only 9 blocks away, who said they had it. It is important to note that I’m quite sure I was specific about the model in question — the 6S Plus, which is larger; and not simply the 6S. So, this specific store said, «yes, we have one in stock». When we informed the 125th Street store that we were going to this store on 116th Street, they were emphatic to remind us that, «hey, beware of this store. They are not a corporate-owned T-Mobile outlet. Instead, they are third party, so they are more reliant on up-selling you on accessories and so forth at every opportunity. ‘Be careful,’» they warned. So sure enough after we arrive at this store, the salesperson(Tiffany) grabs multiple cases and begins to offer to finance the cases or any other accessories with his purchase. My friend politely declines at which point the salesperson becomes annoyed and very curt thereafter. In fact, before my friend can offer to make a larger down payment($ 200) on his purchase, the salesperson has already rung up the transaction for $ 100; ostensibly, so she can move on. When he informs her of his intent to pay more, she says, she’ll need to process his additional $ 100 separately. She runs the transaction then brings out the phone. It is important to note that at this point, she does not offer the phone to my friend, so he can examine the box/product that he is about to spend $ 800+ on. Instead, she quickly tears off the plastic, opens up the box and places the phone on the counter; never once placing the phone in my friend’s hands. Instead, she gives the outward impression that she wants to hurry through this transaction and move on to someone else. Now, we both find this to be rude, but don’t want her to make this interaction any more difficult than it needs to be. After she places the phone on the counter, it’s clear it is not the 6S Plus; instead she’s brought out the iPhone 6S. At that point my friend informs her that he had requested the larger(more expensive) size and the sales person immediately says, «well, you have to pay a restocking fee. You have to pay a restocking fee. It’s $ 50.» She says it twice as if relieved she could charge him extra for something. When my friend points out that she had not presented him with the phone beforehand — to inspect it to be sure this is the correct phone — and that we were sure we had asked for the larger size, she insisted that we had not. At that point, I advised my friend that he can take this up with his bank — since he purchased it with his credit card — and just walk. It was her mistake, and that they were not acting in good faith to immediately leap to charging him a re-stocking fee when she didn’t give him an opportunity to open his own product. She opened it because she was in a hurry. Sadly, my friend chose to let them steal his $ 50 and charge him a re-stocking fee so he could purchase the more expensive model from them. So my advice to you is stay away from this business. They are crooks. They don’t care enough about their own reputation to discuss why we felt the restocking fee was inappropriate. We asked to speak with a manager, and they insisted he was on the phone in the back. They are an embarrassment to T-Mobile! Don’t let them steal from you.

Lost my phone and went in to get a temporary phone until my replacement phone was delivered. A couple days later I went back to return the temp phone and get back the refund for it. I had the same cust. service person each time(think his name is Carlos) and he was polite, attentive and knew exactly what the best options were for me during both visits. The other sales guys were nice too. Carlos even went to the back room to grab a chair for my daughter so she could sit down while we waited for all the paperwork to be completed. Its cool to deal with people that know what they are doing and are more than happy to actually get it done.
