T-Mobile

Very bad service. Avoid old guy and who named Adreas (?) and the other guy as well.
I strongly recommend to go other location. They need to get proper training about how to speak to customers and deal with cell phone problem.
Very poor acknowledgement that they have and poor service.

Just like any other telephone store that is owned and operated by T-​Mobile, big and spacious and have all the phones for you to play with, which is great. I went on an off hour and the store was not busy, and it appeared they were short staffed or they just don’t have enough employees working. It was 1015 AM and they had 2 employees which were attending to customers and had 2 other potential customers waiting. The sore had just opened, so maybe a quick rush but only 2 employees really.

Walked in to connect my wife’s personal phone and my business phone on the family plan and activate 2 more lines for my kids.
As advertised:
The manager had no idea what I was talking about. He was completely lost — Wasn’t aware of the program and directed me back to the T-​Mobile website.
I can’t use the website to do what I want because the same guy set my wife up on a pay as you go plan (which she did not ask for) the previous week.
T-​Mobile customer service recommended that I walk into a retail location to get it all sorted out.
Not possible with the crew at this store.
Avoid at all costs.

Avoid the old guy who doesn’t listen and wants to waste your time.
I tried to ask an older employee where the sim card adapters were, but he kept interrupting me to tell me where the chargers were. I said ok but where can i find a sim card adapter? then he started talking about headphones and telling me where those were. I eventually found it myself, nowhere near the chargers or headphones, I could have done so much faster without this person.

I’ve been extremely disappointed with T-​mobile corporate customer service lately (see below), but the service that i’m getting in this store is the only thing that’s keeping me a T-​mobile customer. Here’s the email I just fired off to the store manager:
I’m emailing to let you know about the exceptional customer service I’ve received from Ariel at the T-​mobile store on 89^th and 3^rd in Manhattan. I have been helped there by Ariel many times. He has sold me new phones and new service plans, and he is always extremely helpful, forthright, and knowledgeable.
Most recently, I came in when my Galaxy SII had ceased functioning. After almost 2 yrs, it would spontaneously power down and then not power on, even if it was fully charged. This continued for a few days, so I brought it into the store. It had not been dropped, crushed, smashed, or submerged in water. Ariel examined the phone and informed me that because I was paying the monthly insurance, I could get a replacement phone within 2 days for a ~$ 5 shipping fee. I was overjoyed. Within 2 days I had my replacement Galaxy SII, and a few days later I shipped back the dysfunctional phone (using T-mobile’s own packaging, which they had sent my new phone in).To my surprise and dismay, T-​mobile then levied a $ 87.50+tax charge on my next bill, claiming that the screen was cracked when they received it (it had never been cracked when it was in my possession). After multiple infuriating phone calls with T-​mobile customer service, a frustrating trip to USPS to attempt to submit a shipping claim form — which T-​mobile had instructed me I must do – I was no nearer a resolution, and was considering leaving T-​mobile after 5 yrs as a customer. As a last resort, I returned to the store to ask Ariel if he remembered me and the phone I had exchanged ~4 weeks earlier, and if he could help me resolve the matter. He did remember, and remembered that the phone was not cracked, and he was on the phone with T-​mobile corporate customer service immediately. Within 5 minutes, the fee had been removed from my bill.
He has single-​handedly retained me as a customer for T-​mobile. Were it not for Ariel and his honest, efficient customer service, my next stop would have been the Verizon store on 86^th St.
