Sprint Store

EVERYTIME I go to this location, whether there is 1 person or 4 people working, there is ALWAYS a wait as if they’re selling items at Black Friday prices. Today I stopped by my bank to take out money so that I can AVOID having to deal with an actual person and mistakenly took out 50’s at the atm. I went to this Sprint location and asked if I could get change so that I can pay at the machine. I was told by the person I asked that she nor the young lady next to her didn’t have change, but to go to the guy across. I waited 10 minutes to find that he didn’t have change either. They had only been open since 9am and and it was 11:40 when this was told to me. HOW could they not have change when they’d only been open for 2 hrs and 40 minutes? Last month I canceled 2 of the 4 devices I had on my account, next winter I’ll be canceling the other 2 and transitioning to a mobile provider with BETTER service and instore customer service.

What terrible service, thanks for nothing technical consultant Darin! Your terrible customer service and absolute inability and unwillingness to help customers, even given the fact that I had full insurance, seals my decision that I will never choose Sprint. Can’t help customer because of ‘inventory issues’? I’m sorry but are you in the business of customer service or keeping your inventory in check? Absolutely aweful. You and your entire team needs training in customer care, under performance can’t be business as usual if you plan to exist in the next 2 – 5 years. You need to improve.

I had read a lot of reviews and talked to a lot of people prior to joining to Sprint who all assured me that their networks had improved a lot and in some areas used the same towers as Verizon. My experience of this was definitely not the same as theirs– I spend most of my time in Manhattan and the reception is pretty spotty here also. It works pretty badly in Midtown and UES and cuts out a lot, I can’t finish my calls uninterrupted. I took it to California on a road trip around Joshua tree/​Grand Canyon and I never had reception where my friend on AT&T always did. I stream a lot of songs on Spotify and I have to pre-​download them.
I didn’t anticipate having bad service so trying to cancel a lease agreement was a whole other animal. The lease cancellation + balance on phone + bill ended up being ~650 but the more egregious part is that they refused to apply that to the balance of my phone until the end of my billing cycle and basically told me I couldn’t port my number over no matter what. I offered to pay to the end of the cycle if only I could use the phone and they said I wouldn’t be able to start new service at all. I talked to two managers, online chat, and finally a new CSR on the service cancellation line who finally let me port my number back to VZW. This process took 6 hours broken up into five days and calls, and $ 30 additional prorated charges since they didn’t cancel properly initially.
The reception sucks, the customer service is very hit or miss, and I would definitely not recommend using the lease program cause it’s super expensive to leave if you have service/​coverage issues. Also, keep trying different CSRs until someone lets you port over.

None too pleased with the customer service here. Was pretty much tricked into purchasing products and was not explained the return policy. Manager Kelly pretty much used my phone exchange credit to pay for items that I know I won’t use. When I went to return these things once I found out what he had done, they couldn’t do anything for me since it was after the 14 day DEVICE return. (Mind you I was not returning a device, just the lame products that I was tricked into purchasing). 2 stars for taking advantage of loyal customers. Shame on you sprint.
Oh and the manager took the liberty in putting his number in my phone… As if I would call. Double lame. And pretty sure a violation of my customer privacy.

I’ve been a sprint customer for ever 10 years and this was by far the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. Yaneli was the rep who helped me at the store. She was both knowledgeable and efficient. I was in and out if there in under 20 minutes.

Mid afternoon Saturday April 25^th I went into this Sprint store to get some help with a broken email app which I could not fix myself. It was very quiet and the technician (Chris) could not have been more helpful and he took the time to re-​configure the phone for me. Service does not get better than that!

Came in during my lunch break and caiti I believe her name was, was such a sweet heart and took care of me right away I was done in less then an hour with a new phone no hassle. Customer Service was great. Thank you caiti.

Sprint really needs to train their employees on their own policies and on customer service altogether. First, my father upgrades and then they completely mess up and upgrade my phone instead giving him my number and cutting off my service. How the hell does that happen? Then when I try to use an upgrade (since his phone still has one) they tell me no one is eligible and I have to call customer care who tells me they have no clue what the store is talking about. It clearly says a line is available for an upgrade. Great. The store then tells me to wait til my name is called. So being the only client in the store, I wondered why it took 8 minutes for someone to look at me and ask if I’m being helped while they all ignore me. It was always convenient to go here because they were so close to my house but I’d rather travel all the way to 34^th to actually have decent customer service. If I wasn’t already upgraded for a 2 year contract without my permission, I would have left this company the minute I had a chance. 2 years can’t come fast enough…

We traveled from upper manhattan to this store because of the excellent service we got last time and were not disappointed. Yanelly was very polite and showed us a plan that was convenient for our family as well as economically smart. We switched over to sprint and are happy we came to this store.

Do they have many phone choices? Yes.
Can they lift their heads from their own phones for even two minutes to do their actual jobs and help you pick out the right one for you? No.
Worst customer service ever. Since when is it acceptable to take a personal call WHILE helping out a customer on company time right in front of the customer’s face? Talk about making you feel as if you are of zero value. Thanks, Mr. Batista! You’re a really great sales guy. Hope that text was super important.
Instead, go to the store on 98^th and Broadway. The woman who is the manager there is great, and even though it is smaller, she will guide you and help you find what you need. These guys are useless and do not want to help and if I was their boss, I’d clean a little house.

Great location.
In comparison to the other Sprint locations in the city (with technicians) this place is the best. The staff know their stuff. They are accommodating and quick to help. I am grateful.
The ONLY downside (that is not a fault of their own) is that on the weekends, wait times can be an hour. BUT your phone gets worked on, you get answers and personalized service and you get what you need.
Great location, no complaints.

Indeed Sprint is horrific. I have an iPhone. I’ve had AT&T and Sprint. I switched to Sprint. I was shocked to find out that just four months later, the 3G service was so slow in my neighborhood and significant parts of uptown that I would complain to executive escalations. In a shocking bit of honesty, the representative there, Michael Govea (1 (866) 727‑0665) admitted that Sprint did not have sufficient capacity in New York to support the phones it was selling. He told me that they were set to complete network upgrades in September (this was in April) but given the capacity issues and the long wait, they offered to buy my phone back and cancel the contract free of charge. Stupid me, dreading the inconvenience of changing carriers, I decided to wait. What a mistake. The problems are back but worse. Now, dropped calls by the bucket full, slow network speed and, I come to find out tonight from tech support, they have network upgrades scheduled in the Bronx and Queens. No mention if Manhattan. So, I made a call to Mr. Govea tonight. I’m also strongly considering filing a complaint with the city, state and feds. I may even file a lawsuit seeing an injunction proscribing Sprint from selling service in New York City or at least requiring a disclaimer that their network doesn’t support the service they’re selling.

The crew in the front are awesome people so this review is directed at a repair technician. I had my phone repaired at different locations and this is the worst. Without looking at my phone she said sprint will send me another phone. I paid $ 35 for a replacement phone and she said i’ll receive it in a few days. I waited for a week and still have not receive my phone. I contacted sprint and they said an order was never placed for a replacement to be sent. WTF… the tech took my money and never put in an order for a replacement. How am i suppose to work when the touchscreen is unresponsive? Not only is the tech lazy but is incompetent in putting in a simple order. I have filed a complaint with sprint because this is unacceptable.

Ignore David’s review, as it’s clearly a gripe against Sprint as a company and not this specific branch.
As for myself, I went in there earlier today with a defective battery and even thoughthey don’t stock replacement batteries in stores, the dude who helped me out (Nelson, a stand-​up guy) still managed to hook me up and have me walk out of the store with a replacement battery *despite* the fact that normally you’d have to order one. In fact, you could say that the service here went above and beyond the standard Sprint policy.
Needless to say, if I need any new accessories in the future, I’ll be coming here instead of ordering online.

I was treated shabbily at this store a few years ago, but had a stellar experience because of the attitude and brains of the sales person helping me this time, Miguel Agui. I was in and out of the store in fifteen minutes. That’s all it took to get a phone upgrade ready to go. I’m spoiled!

Sprint’s return policy is a joke. if you buy anything regardless if you opened it or was given as a gift you can not return the item and get your money back, unless it doesnt work. no wonder Sprint is in the shitter and they will look to do anything to not give back money.

I hate Sprint stores as much as the next guy but if you had to come to any location I def suggest this one. The staff here is somewhat friendly, somewhat efficient, and will somewhat resolve your issue… a «somewhat» is much better than «not at all».
I think that this stores probably tends to get busy on the weekends but on a weekday the worse that can happen is an old upper east side lady confused about how to pay her bill via the automated machine shows up and occupies the staff’s time. Otherwise you should be good. Just make sure to grab a representative when you walk in because if you’re wandering around the store and a few other customers walk in you might have to wait a bit.
One thing to note is that there is a Sprint Repair Service Center right across the street and they are never busy… good place to go and ask questions :)
