I get the lunch special take out«any 3 rolls for $ 12.95». Absolutely great and come with Miso soup and salad. Choices are wide and plentiful ranging from spicy salmon to shrimp tempura. It’s great! Highly recommend for takeout especially ordering in advance.

I ordered pickup here once before and it went smoothly. My food was ready at pick up time. My most recent experience was a disaster. I had to wait 20 minutes for my PICKUPORDER to be ready. Cashier couldn’t give me a reason why it was taking forever… kept telling me it was on its way. Prices for lunch specials are great plus there’s the 10% discount for ordering online but don’t think I’ll be back.

I’ve passed by this place everyday on my way to work but never went in because my coworkers were always skeeved out at the signage and assumed it was a stomachache in disguise. At the behest of a coworker we tried it out and it was not bad. It’s Chinese owned so don’t expect the same as some of the more expensive options around here. I noticed inside was not too bad, and lunch specials start at a reasonable price. The soup sitting in a warmer near the front looked a little sketch but overall it was an ok experience. One complaint is my coworker doesn’t eat seafood so he asked if for the California roll in his bento could just be avocado cucumber and she said it would be $ 1 which is insane because we weren’t asking for a substitution. We just wanted the imitation crab stick to be taken. We complained and she just smiled. Oh well, maybe that’s how they pay for their high Rockefeller Plaza rents.

My coworker and I have been here several times for lunch. There is usually not an issue to get seating even on the crowded days. I usually go for the Bento box which is $ 10. Comes with your choice of a teriyaki dish, soup, salad, 3 rolls, and 2 dumplings. It’s a pretty good deal and you are satisfied at the end. This place on a permanent fixture in my lunch rotation.

I’ve come here for lunch once. It gets busy and there’s quick service but it feels a bit cramped and in a small space gets loud with coworker’s and friends talking amongst each other. It’s an average lunch spot. I don’t recall if it was pricey or if they have lunch specials, so I guess it’s not that memorable of a place. There’s other sushi places I’d rather go to in midtown

Taki Sushi has a special place in my heart due to all the bonding experiences I have had with both colleagues and friends at this place. Due to its convenient location two blocks away from our 30 Rock office, we have frequented it multiple times for both lunch and dinner. I’m quite surprised to see the bad reviews and low ratings because I’ve never had a bad experience. The lunch specials(2 rolls for $ 9.95 and 3 rolls for $ 12.95) are such a steal and come with miso soup and salad. Their salad dressing is very interesting. It is not at all mayonnaise heavy like the creamy miso stuff served at Japanese restaurants; rather, it tastes like a freshly pureed combination of ginger, onion, vinegar and other spices. I’m quite a fan of it. One oddity — sometimes they charged us extra $ for a side of spicy mayo and other times they didn’t. You many want to pay closer attention to your check for any inconsistencies.

Went here today because it’s right near the Nintendo store. When we got in it was really empty, my boyfriend saw that as a bad sign. But we stayed in because we were seated right away. He ordered a Summer Roll & Shrimp Tempura roll, I got Asa Roll, Salmon Nigiri, & Toro Nigiri. When we were ordering, I got a negative feeling from her, seemed like she had an attitude and I felt like she was talking to me like I was stupid when I just had simple questions. Anyways, the food was good, it’s just that the customer service is really lacking. My boyfriend and I were content with our food, but I think the biggest key to an enjoyable atmosphere in a restaurant is a server who will smile and be attentive. So food, good and I believe it’s reasonably priced. Well minus the toro, $ 8 for one piece when back at home in California it’s normally $ 10-$ 12 for two pieces. I know it’s market price but it just seems pricier than necessary. Anyways if you just want good food, then feel free to stop here. If you want good customer service/a server who actually cares about your experience as a customer in the restaurant, perhaps skip the place.

I ventured here with a friend after work, around 5:30 or so. The restaurant was pretty empty, so we were seated right away. There didn’t seem to be any air-conditioning, so it was a little humid inside. Luckily the waitress was eager to refill our water glasses. I ordered a sweet potato roll and a tuna avocado roll. The tuna avocado roll had generous hunks of tuna in them. The sweet potato rolls were hefty, but the tempura itself was a little dry and hard to chew. I didn’t find the food or atmosphere to be particularly spectacular, but if you’re looking for a sushi place that can seat you quickly and turn out food fast, Taki Sushi is a fine bet.

*A VERYDISTURBINGEXPERIENCE!!* — We were asked to never come back again! I just got back to DC after a train ride from NYC and I cannot sleep tonight if I don’t write this review! Let me start by saying that I am generally a very forgiving person and I hardly ever make an attempt to write someone a bad review no matter how disappointed I am. This is my first Unilocal review and it saddens me that this is a VERYNEGATIVE review! I was visiting a friend in New York for the weekend and had a train back at 3PM today. She really wanted us to try sushi so she took us to this place without reading the reviews due to lack of time. This was the worst mistake of our lives! We ordered from their lunch menu. I got my lunch in about 10 minutes from placing the order. i asked for silverware which never came. OK so that is a petty issue. Guess what — My friend kept waiting for 20 minutes and then tried to call the waitress Nancy(If that’s her real name) to check on her food. She kept ignoring us and did not bother to come to the table to let us know that the food should be on its way! No apologies whatsoever! People who came after us ordered, ate and left. I finished almost half of my food with my friend still waiting! Half an hour later, my husband went to the counter to speak with her and the response was, «You are not the only customer». He said we understood that but we came before anyone else and the least she could do was to let us know that it is taking a bit longer. She said, «If you can’t wait then PAYANDGETOUT!». Did I hear that right? We asked for the Manager expecting he will resolve the issue and teach his staff something about customer service. He said, «You are not going anywhere. Pay for what you ordered and go. Otherwise I will call the Police». He kept saying that Nancy should call the Police! For what? For letting them know that they have a shitty service??? We had an argument for a few minutes when we realized that it was impossible to stoop to their level so we paid and started back. I was so angry that I did not really check the charges for the additional fee. I would not be surprised if we got charged! As we were leaving, Nancy shouted at us, «Don’t come back here ever again!» WOW! I just lost my mind on the last day of an otherwise fabulous trip! My friend feels terrible she suggested that we go there! PLEASEDONOTWASTEYOURTIMEANDMONEYONTHISPLACE!

Terrible experience, bad sushi, bad service. The rice was not tender and the salmon of the sushi still had some skin on it. I ordered for delivery. After 1h20 min I called the restaurant to check on my order. The guy who answered simply said, the order is on its way and hanged up on me. What kind of service is that? Avoid

ACTUALRATING: 0 stars Worst delivery experience ever — delivery person never came and called me every few minutes indiscernible ranting/babble. When I called the restaurant, they did nothing to accommodate my order and I never got my food. NYC is the delivery food capital of the world, if you can’t hire competent delivery people, don’t get on Seamless.

I don’t get why the reviews are bad for this place. The service is quick, the food is great, and the prices are more than fair. $ 13 gets me 3 rolls of sushi with a soup and a salad, and free hot green tea. Go here during work quite a bit, and really enjoy it. Aside from the 3 rolls lunch special, I’ve also gotten the sushi & sashimi lunch combo, which gets you 9 pieces of sashimi and 4 pieces of sushi with a california roll(and soup and salad) for $ 17. I have yet to have something I didn’t like, and I come here quite a lot.

Sushi was alright, but they didn’t put much fish in the actual rolls we ordered. Split the $ 16 roll combination deal(12 leaves) And the beef Suki(soooo bland!!! Especially for $ 14.25!) Service was just ok. Place where you had to be proactive asking for the server to bring you something. No water refills. Wouldn’t come back.

Really awful place to eat… the worst Japanese restaurant I’ve been to so far. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura lunch box. Not only the portion is small, but also the taste is unacceptable. Some of the vegetable tempuras are actually leftovers because you can tell from the color and the texture. Not recommended ATALL.

I work around this area for almost 4 years now and I never knew this place exist. Not a hard place to find but you’ll need to pay attention to the signs. It’s located on the second floor next to Lenny’s. Place is decent, not too big nor too small. Roughly about 11 seatings at most. I ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls with brown rice, a passion roll with regular rice, and a gyoza which I asked for fried but it came out steamed. My passion roll tasted good and as for my spicy tuna roll well… it wasn’t spicy nor had any taste.

I think not… I’m normally not a picky person when it comes to raw fish(though I probably should be.) but something was just off about the sashimi I had. It’s not that it was bad, but it wasn’t good either. It almost reminded me of 2-day-old pre-packaged sushi you would buy at a supermarket. I only ordered from this place because 1. It’s close to work 2. I was craving sushi 3. I had a Seamless coupon If you want good sushi in this area, check out my review for Nippori.

When I order sushi here, I know it won’t be particularly good but it’ll still be more reasonably priced than those restaurants around it. Located on the second floor, it’s less conspicuous so knowing about this place puts you ahead of the people waiting hours during lunch rush at the other sushi restaurants around the area. The food is passable if you’re craving sushi. In all truthfulness, you could really do a lot worse.
