I don’t know what to say. I loved this place when it first opened as a HK breakfast place, 8ave are lacking them. The second time I went, the taro cake that I ordered tasted spoiled– I said to myself, «give them a month before they change management». Omg they shut down the third time I passed this store. The fourth time, they changed their store into a hotpot, dumpling and roasted meat restaurant because this new method seems to be able to make profits. Not coming here unless I’m starving.

I’ve only come here for take out lunch so this review is based off of only that. Décor: It’s normal. Slightly dumpy but not anymore so than similar types of restaurants on 8th Ave. Has been pretty empty most of the time from what I’ve seen(might be a warning sign for some but also means no wait time to be seated for others). Service: I’ve only come here to get lunch for take out(or occasionally the roast pork to bring home) so I can’t comment on it. They seem to be friendly enough at the counter but from what I’ve seen while waiting for my food, they also seem to hang around the counter most of the time instead of seeing if their seated customers require anything. But that’s just from a couple minutes of observation so I don’t know how it’s like normally. Food: I usually only get their roasted stuff over rice and… surprisingly, it’s actually above my expectations. The roast pork and roast duck have been consistently flavorful and definitely less skimpy compared to their competitors on 8th Ave. Pricewise, they are about the same as their competitors. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars. Once again, this is just based on their roast over rice and on nothing else. It’s good enough to make me head over here when I have a hankering for roast pork and roast duck. *edit* Place has been closed for the last couple days now

We came here to grab late lunch and boy, once we sat down, we knew it was a mistake. The waitress was too busy chit chatting with her friend and the place was nearly empty. Dad kept waving to get the waitress’ attention. Terrible service! Our over-salted congee and beef stew w/rice came out super quick… Toooo quick which makes me think it’s already pre-made. Albeit it’s cheapness, it satisfy my hunger but then again I was starving. Heed my advice, just avoid this place unless you desperate for food asap.

We’re on 8th avenue– service doesn’t exist. So this rating is based on lowered expectations. I came in for the AYCE Hot Pot. For less than $ 20 bucks per person– you can order as much meat and veggies as you want. The best part is that they don’t skimp on each order and I found the quality not too shabby all things considered. Come with an appetite– this restaurant is perfect for this kind weather.

The customer service here was terrible. First thing that happened when I walked in was all the chefs were in the front yelling and arguing. They were arguing more than they were cooking and they all seem like amateurs. I ordered a few items on the menu since there were a lot of $ 1 items. The waitress was sweet looking, but she was not trained at all. She gave me the wrong change, left out my curry squid on the order, and made a cup of horrible milk tea. Please don’t get the milk tea, go to cha chang tang, its a lot better. I waited 20 minutes for my order which consist of only the noodle that requires cooking. The lady who called for me to pick up the order was the worse. She spoke as if I was deaf, 10X louder than usual!!! All I did was ask her where my squid was and she wanted to bite my head off, freaking yelling at me. I can’t believe they can hire someone like that to give orders to clients. She called over the sweet clueless girl and yelled at her. She was so unprofessional, she screamed out saying«SEEITSNOTMYFAULT, ITSALLTHEWAITRESS’ FAULT. NOWYOUGOFIXIT!.» I swear she is going through menopause. Luckily, the food was not terrible or I would have threw it back at her face. However, it is not worth the wait and the TERRIBLE service. I should not have expected any good service from a HK café.
