Ordered on seamless. Definitely reordering again soon. Delivery in 15 mins or less with rolls filled to the max! Ordered the Dallas roll and the 8 piece Sake roll.

This place has been a favorite spot of mine for a while. Their salmon sashimi special comes with huge slices of salmon, a salmon roll and salmon sashimi over rice for about $ 24. Really can’t beat it

Great workday lunch location. Sushi is always fresh, and the«lunch box» is great for the price. My co-workers and I are frequent diners here, and I can’t recall a complaint. Servers are attentive and food is delivered promptly.

Update: saw the response from the owner. Uh, yeah, no thanks. «Highest-quality ingredient» «recipes are as authentic as they come»? By maybe the lowest standards acceptable by a soup kitchen. If that’s your idea of taking good care, I definitely don’t want to take a chance on your having an off day. And, if you’re actually sincere about being shocked, why did you decline to give me a full refund? Puhleez: you know you aren’t authentic — I hope you get shut down by the DoH soon so that an actual restaurant worthy of NYC can move in. I suggest you try eating at any of the Japanese places I rate highly, and then tell me if you still think the same — chances are, even if you let the food from the other places rot, it’d still be better than this place’s «food.»

I have ordered delivery from Tenzan a couple times now. The food is here FAST. and it’s great. The sushi is big and tasty and the salad is a real salad — not just some iceberg lettuce. My favorite is the lunch combo — two rolls and a salad. It’s the perfect lunch. try their cali roll and peanut/avo roll. Yum.

My friend Don from work know the owner Leo from Tenzan, so he hook us up and took us for a treat. When we arrived the restaurant, we were greeted by Yudi and seated in tall chairs by the window. We were looking at the menu and tried to figure out what’s good to order, Yudi took our menu away and said we don’t need one. Everything was taking care of and we just need to enjoy ourselves. Alright then. We started with sake on lunch break, and a few appetizers: squid rings, edamame, octopus salad, salmon tartar… So fresh and good! As I was filling up, Yudi said more good stuff is coming! He was certainly right! Yudi brought out hand roll sushi, oyster roll, special roll… And my favorite plate was the one with Toro(fatty tuna), uni, shrimp head, shrimp, king shell crab sushi… OMG, certainly to die for. The plate was so divine makes me feel so special, like my birthday! Just when I thought I was about to pass out from food coma, Yudi brought out latte from Turkish place next door. Have not forgotten the dessert: fried ice cream and Lady M green tea milli crêpe. Thank you Leo and Yudi for such a wonderful meal, everything was beyond exceptional, thank you for spoiling us! Of course thank you Don, if it was not you, none of this would have happened! I am so grateful for such good food and great company!

The white tuna I ordered last night was horrible: tuna in very watery rice that barely holding its shape. Each of that tiny watery peace for sure does NOT worth $ 1. I ordered the vege fried rice too. For the price, that one was pretty good amount and tasty.

I keep ordering the sushi here because they deliver quickly. This is only a delivery review. Even when its super cold the delivery man comes. They package the sushi nice and tight in little boxes. I haven’t had a bad roll yet. I’d say the salmon is good. The crunch is kind of blegh so I would go for straight salmon or tuna. The salmon avocado is good. The yellowtail jalapeño is also good. They also have my favorite egg casserole sashimi(tamago). I originally ordered this place for the Indian pancake. Its a fried flat pancake that is greasy, flaky, and pretty good with a side of curry to dip it in. Its not the best in terms of this appetizer that I’ve had but solidly ok enough to order on a repeat basis. If you’re looking for amazing sushi, this is not it. This is staple, everyday sushi.

I really love coming here since there’s not too many good sushi lunch specials in the area. Many of the ones I’ve tried have unpleasant staff or low quality rolls. At Tenzan, the fish is always fresh and they stuff a lot of it into the rolls. In terms of pricing, it’s two rolls for $ 10 and three for $ 13, which is about average — but for what you get, it’s a great value. I LOVE the peanut avocado roll. They’ve got comfy 2-person booths too! My only complaint is that they’re usually quite slow to bring the check at the end of the meal during lunch, which can be an issue since I only have a one hour lunch break ;)

Solid sushi but nothing to rave over. Prices are fair for the portions. The restaurant itself is spacious and is a great place to meet some friends over drinks and sushi! I would come back!

I really enjoyed my experience with Tenzan! I came here for a late lunch with my co-workers right before Christmas — we arrived around 1:30 but I could see with their really good lunch special how it could get packed. Lunch special was two rolls for 10? and three for 13?, which I thought was a great deal for the area and quality! My one issue was the waiter kept asking if we were ready to order when we trying to enjoy our longer lunch — not too many people still there for lunch crowd(we weren’t hoarding the table). Everything was delicious and very fresh! Will definitely be back!

2.5 stars. Ordered miso soup and vegetable & tofu teriyaki from Tenzan via Seamless because I’d really been craving soup. Miso was good, but as for the vegetable & tofu teriyaki… that was a bad choice. Tofu seems a bit over cooked, vegetables are undercooked, and the sauce is extremely watered down. I don’t think it’s even fair to call it sauce. I’d consider ordering from them again for soup, but I wouldn’t recommend them.

Came here for a dinner date with a friend. I was disappointed they did not have a dinner bento box on the menu. We got vegetable gyoza which was ok, nothing spectacular. Also, I had the chicken teriyaki dinner which came with miso soup and rice. I asked for brown rice yet got white instead. The meat was dry and tasted like it was day or two old reheated meat. The sauce was okay. All in all I was disappointed by the food although the servers were friendly.

I ordered from this place tonight and boy do I have a lot of things to say about it. The one redeeming quality is that the order was supposed to arrive at 9PM and it actually showed up around 8:30. I ordered a piece of yellowtail, an avocado roll, a tuna hand roll, and an avocado salad. I also ordered an extra side of ginger dressing. First thing I noticed is that the avocado rolls were basically falling apart. None of them were tightly wrapped at all. It’s pretty hard to mess up a vegetable roll for which you already have reasonably low expectations, so that was strike one. Next I noticed that the avocado on my salad was overripe. It was mushy in some spots and hard in others. It wasn’t horrible but the seemingly not fresh bed of lettuce it was on only served to augment that fact. Strike two. The tuna hand roll was just ok, but the yellowtail piece made me legitimately nervous. It had a weird look to it up close and smelled a little off. Needless to say, I ended up throwing it out. Bonus: normally, I could essentially bathe in ginger dressing. I could hardly stomach any of this one(to add insult to injury, I had ordered extra, which they upcharge at this place). It was very thin and weirdly tangy. No thanks. HERESTHEKICKER. As I was throwing out the bag, I noticed they had OVERCHARGED me. My Seamless order was exactly $ 27(a rip off for the above, as it was) and it ended up being $ 27.75. I’m not going to call and complain about 75 cents but seriously? Enough. I definitely won’t be ordering from this place again any time soon.

Good sushi experience at this midtown spot. All of the basic rolls are executed well here. But the key to success here, is that there’s lots of great flavor combinations on their specialty roll list.

One of my top lunch spots in the area. Always a pleasure when I dine in or order out(which is at least once a week). Nice staff and the sushi/food are always well made. Rolls are pretty big, even the veggie rolls. I also just discovered that they carry Lady M’s Green — Tea Mille Crepes !!! My fav!!! I LOVE all things Lady M’s!

For the neighborhood, Tenzan actually offers a decent menu. The quality of the food is certainly better than some of the other typical non-Japanese Japanese restaurants. The sushi is of a *slightly* higher caliber, staff are friendly enough and the food comes out rather quick. This place is more than suitable for an after work in Midtown meal. With an amazingly large water feature, it could offer some decent atmosphere. Unfortunately it seems like they no longer run it and it’s just a two-story pit now.

I am definitely a fan of this place! After eating there a bunch of times both for work lunches and for dinner, I realized they delivered to my new apartment. They are my go to place for sushi in the area and for delivery. Literally everything I have had here is good. I can’t speak to the cooked food, but literally everything else that I have had here is delicious. The chirashi is great, and their tartare are unique and delicious. They have a nice selection of sake as well. The bartender is very helpful at picking one and sometimes gives you a little taste. The service is always nice and friendly as well. I highly recommend this Tenzan if you’re looking for good sushi at a fair price.

Went here for lunch yesterday — service was super-fast — got seated right away, menus right away, and food came out quickly. definitely a good spot to go to for lunch during the work day. Everything was excellent — went with the yellowtail tartare: had a bit of a crunch and spice to it, would definitely get again. Also had some sashimi(super fresh). I absolutely LOVED the Triple Hako No Rice roll … a definite must-get! They also offer a selection of Naruto rolls … ready to go back again today!
