Everything was more than expected! We ordered TUNATARTAR, BULGURPATTIES, RISOTTOBALLS, TRUFFLEDEVILEDEGGS, 3 cheese, 3 glass of wines(in total $ 70/person). I recommend BULGURPATTIES especially. This is a turkish dish, lamb croquette with yogurt sauce. Each dish is small portion, but they are cheap. You can enjoy a lot of kind of dishes. I think this restaurant is good for less than 4 people because it is small.

Pierre Loti Midtown was a pleasant surprise. Went on the NYE of 2015 and the 2nd floor space was fairly empty. Cozy décor and courteous service. We had Hummus for cold tapas and Angry Garlic Shrimp, Risotto Balls, Turkish Beef Dumplings and Chicken Brochette for hot tapas. Garlic Shrimp was very good, but the Chicken Brochette was especially exquisite — we thought it was going to be chicken skewers but it ended up being two pieces of very tender and juicy chicken fillet — among the best we’ve had. Turkish Beef Dumplings, however, were not worthy of the hype — despite the bite size cuteness, the fillings were on the greasy side and not at all complementary with the yogurt sauce. We wish we’d tried the Charcuterie Plate instead! Overall, a classy, low-key NYE dinner.

Great place for wine and Turkish tapas. All the food was interesting and very tasty. Came her with a few girlfriends on a cold Monday night and really enjoyed ourselves. Great service and great food

Didn’t get to try the cook but the ambiance is dark and seems a bit outdated and the booth chairs can use some upgrading.

From reading the reviews, I kind of wished we had gotten the upstairs. It was raining, and the first floor wasn’t full, so despite making a reservation, we got a high table near the bar. It wasn’t bad, but my back was almost against the person behind me. One nice design they have is that all the tables had little hooks below so you can hang coats and purses there, taking up less room. Service was attentive, maybe sometimes too attentive. Almost seems like they’re listening to your conversations, but at least your water gets filled. Joking aside, the people were truly very nice. They were quick, asked us what we wanted promptly, and the food came out in good time. They did not place the check on our table and allowed us to chat for a good 20 minutes before doing that. Then they came out with complimentary spiced hot malt wine for everyone in the place. Amazing! It tastes like a mildly spiked spice apple cider. Prices are more than reasonable. The entrees are between $ 15 – 20, which is great for this area. Portions are not gigantic, but they’re just enough so you have room for dessert… 1. Charcuterie Plate: We got the 7 items for $ 25 one, and we chose all 5 meats and 2 cheeses. Each item was small but so good with the bread! They also have a rose jam, which is very unique and great with the cheese. You also get a small plate of olives soaked in olive oil separately for the table, but it goes well with the plate. 2. Turkish beef dumplings: I really liked this dish because there was a little pop when you bite into the dumplings and the flavor is somewhat surprisingly strong. The dipping sauce on top is quite good. I wish this dish were slightly hotter when served, but very good. 3. Burger: This looked a bit simple, and I didn’t get to try this so I won’t comment on it. The fries came with both mayonnaise and ketchup though, which was awesome. Europeans love mayonnaise for their fries, and I agree that it works! 4. Lamb chops: You only get two, but boy, are they juicy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, you will want 10 of these babies. It’s on a bed of simply boiled vegetables, which I actually didn’t mind because chops were so flavorful. Some would probably say it could have been salted more. 5. Tiramisu: GETTHIS. One of the best ones I’ve had. They said it was made fresh that morning, and it tasted like that. Everything was fluffy. 6. Spiced malt wine: I’m still not sure how they made this that good, but if they don’t offer it to you, you should order some to cap off your meal. I guarantee it’s worth it! So I’m giving 5 stars not because the food will absolutely blow you away, although there will be some great moments. The combination of the pricing and service in addition to the food make this a must-try if you’re in the area!

This was the second time visiting Pierre Loti and both times were fantastic. Our first time we ventured from the hotel looking for something different and not a typical touristy food destination in midtown NYC. Now we were so impressed after our first visit we just couldn’t over look it a year later on our return trip. From assistance choosing wines, dish recommendations and warm welcoming hospitality this midtown gem gets 5 stars. The staff were inviting, helpful and friendly. I just love the rose petal jam and after mentioning how much we enjoyed our first visit the manger /partner gave us a jar to take home with us. The food was well presented, tasted great and eve though we expected small plate tapas the portions were perfect. When looking for a wine we couldn’t remember what we had the year before. After trying to describe what wine we had he then asked if we could remember the date we visited and where we sat. I couldn’t believe he had the details of our dinner from the previous year and was able to tell us the wine we had selected. We will be back for sure on our next trip to NYC

Definitely worth 5 stars after my recent visit. I came in for dinner with my friend for tapas and wine and the owner was really nice and attentive. I would really recommend mulled wine to start or to pair with some tapas. I had such a great time here!

Was looking for a place to have dinner near our next venue, a cigar lounge, and the high ratings drew me to this place. A Saturday night 6pm reservation was no issue for our party of 5. Our soirée was both about friends reconnecting and making new friends while surrounding a birthday celebration. Tapas were excellent, staff was attentive and friendly, and although the South African wine we wanted on their menu was unavailable, their recommended Spanish alternative made our pleasant conversations last 3 bottles. Look forward to going back.

Intimate Mediterranean wine bar in midtown east, grab a reservation on open table, its a small venue. It gets busy but it’s not loud or anything. Downstairs is high tables and bar stools upstairs is regular tables. Service is very good. Reasonably priced wine bottles available and great Mediterranean small plates(that aren’t that small!) Got the grilled salmon, and the risotto and pesto balls which were delicious From the cheese platter try manchego and the gruyère(harder cheeses)

I prefer the other Pierre Loti locations, however, this one is not terrible. We made a reservation for 6Pm on a Friday, which ended up not being necessary. They originally seated us downstairs which is a VERY small, cramped area. Our table was on top of the people seated at the bar(who were also on a very awkward date). After one glass of wine, we asked if we could relocate upstairs. Upstairs ended up being far more spacious and gave an excellent view to people watch. Our waitress upstairs took her time with getting our wine. We also ordered hummus and that came out… But no wine. We waved her down, asked for our wine, and you could visibly see she had forgotten about it. Overall, not a bad place to grab some vino but there are far better locations out there.

Cute and small atmosphere. The food is good, a little bit pricey though. Understandable because of the good quality. And of course, good wine!

Great sharing food for folks to enjoy. We tried the combo cheese and meat platter and enjoyed that throughly. Also tried the Turkish dumplings and grilled octopus. Delic! For dessert we tried the Jacques Torres chocolate. Yummy! And drinks r all good — tried the red and white sangria. Also had their house wine and tried some wine from the list.

Really nice surprise! We didn’t read carefully and thought tapas. Never thought if Turkish tapas. But it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! We had the Muammarra. Nice! Also the sausage(warm) that tasted really well. Very full of flavors. Then we had the dumplings, that came with a bit of turkish history of the waitress. Always nice to see the waiters so enthusiastic and passionate about the food they present. We thought to close of with the zucchini pancakes(yummie btw) but were persuaded into the Tiramisu… Little advise: it’s not a big dessert– but make sure to leave some space as you don’t want to miss the tiramisu. All together absolute a place I would return to. The 5 th star they can deserve if they would have slightly bigger tables…

Had such a great experience here! Stopped here during our vacation to try a local spot, and it was a great choice. They always say«cheers» when they pour you a glass of wine, and the tuna tartar was amazing. I’ve had my fair share of tuna tartar, but this is definitely one of my top 5 favorites. There is a touch of spiciness to it that really adds to the flavor. Delicious. We devoured it in 5 minutes. So good.

4 stars for ambiance + 2 stars for food and drink = 3 stars and A-OK. A nice place to enjoy happy hour outside.

A friend and I were going to a happy hour event in the area so just happened to walk by this place and look at the menu. We definitely weren’t disappointed and both would love to come back! The staff was nice, it was mild enough weather to sit outside, and Sangria was $ 5 each for happy hour. We shared the following dishes: Arugula and Beets salad, Grilled octopus over salad, hummus, Mediterranean olives, Risotto balls, Pan seared jumbo sea scallops. Each of these dishes was delicious.

I came here on a Thursday night after work. Perfect place if you’re looking to have a glass of wine with cheese with friends or coworkers, or for a reasonable dinner date. We chose to sit upstairs, as there are more tables upstairs and downstairs has more of a bar vibe When seated, we were served a bread basket with white bread and cinnamon raisin bread. The white bread was sub par, but the cinnamon raisin was very good. We started our meal by ordering three cheeses and hummus(homemade, $ 5, and came with chips) and the red house wins($ 6 per glass during happy hour). All very good. I ordered the seared salmon and veggies($ 13) which was very good; it was filling but I wasn’t stuffed, perfect portion and expected with the price point. The person I was with ordered the burger, which he said was decent but not special($ 12). The burger also came with fries, which were freshly made.

3.5 stars for A-OK. Pros: * Cozy and quaint wine bar with a large selection of wines * Friendly service — they gave our table complimentary glasses of mulled wine upon checkout * Croquettes were delicious– highly recommend Cons: * Thought there was nothing spectacular about the Grilled Calamari(stuffed with shrimp and shitake mushrooms. bulgur patties with lamb, pine nuts, currants and walnut) and Goat Cheese Salad. Very plain and boring and not worth the price. Overall, spent $ 27.73 for one glass of wine with 3 tapas. Overpriced.

Nice? Food is decidedly on the good side, but I’m just not a big fan of the rather high price-to-quantity-of-food ratio this place offers. I do realize it’s a tapas joint, but when you’re paying $ 9 for probably four average-size pieces of shrimp in a tiny bowl… meh. The Angry Garlic Shrimp described above was my friend’s dish and everyone looked sympathetically at him when it arrived since he’s a pretty big guy. He was indeed rather angry after seeing how little food there was. My Turkish beef dumplings were wonderful though! They’re definitely not the size dumplings you expect… more like lots of tiny little wontons. The order came with a generous slathering of yogurt sauce that went very well with it, though I do wish the sauce came on the side since it blocked out the taste of the actual dumplings. When I reached the middle of the dish where most of the sauce was, I was basically eating tiny-wonton-textured yogurt. Although it certainly wasn’t a lot of food for the price, I felt like the king of the table after seeing how small everyone else’s dishes were. Wahoo. Our group also shared the recommended phyllo cheese rolls and they were great too. Again, insubstantial and gone in too few bites, but they’re like good, fancy cheese sticks. Also don’t use the dipping sauce that comes with them! The rolls taste so much better without. Overall, food is definitely pretty good, but there was just way too little of it; all of us left hungry and like we hadn’t eaten at all :( Service is very lovely and attentive.
