The best store ever with every item to organize your home. It the store has a very easy flow and layout. The sales representative are excellent.

We were walking by this store yesterday and that was fortuitous, as we’d been wanting to find replacements for the many clear plastic storage «containers» for our sweaters; we’d ordered them from an online company and eventually they fell apart. The Container Store’s equivalent items are of a much better quality (also much pricier — but at least they were on sale for ¹⁄₃ off). A *very* friendly, helpful & knowledgable clerk named Megan helped us, and then an equally friendly & helpful woman placed our order (it was on back-​order). Also; a nice thing is that orders for $ 75 or more get free shipping, so that means we don’t have to bother returning to the store and dragging the stuff home.

Just wanted to post a thanks to their team upstairs, for helping me pick out a new closet storage scheme to tackle my shoe hording issue. One of their staff spent a good part of the day helping me with measurements, and hours later my home is habitable again!
Such a wonderful store, just cant give them anything less than 4 stars. I didnt give them Five Stars since the prices are a little higher than other stores online. Still, this store is huge and a great help in keeping my home in order.

Horrible services on the TCS closet, they promised to set up measurement within 24 – 48 hours, but never called back after more than a week, I followed up in between, and they promised 100% to call back on the same day, but didn’t call at all again. I made a complaint today, but they just simply said that there is nothing they could do. I very surprised that a public company have such bad services and so not reliable. Because of their fault, it caused me a lot of trouble by not being able to install the closet on time.
Also, the information on their website is super misleading. It says from placing the order to installation, it takes 2 week, but in reality, it takes more than a month. I am extremely disappointed and pissed, will never use their service again.

I don’t usually write reviews for stores, but I really love this store and its workers. They are just super helpful (when you get your hands on one) and efficient. Store is huge and well organized, and you can get everything to fulfill your OCD needs.

The solution to your tiny over-​priced apartment problems: The Container Store.
The store is full of creative products you had no idea existed to help you organize everything into a small space. I bought this great wine glass hanger that frees up a cabinet. I also purchased a hair dyer/​straighter/​wand holder that keeps my tools organized, ready to go and less likely to burn down my apartment building.
This is a must-​stop shop to every «new» New Yorker who is having trouble making their things fit into a small space.

Oooh, really nice store! Love coming here to look at everything — kitchen and home items, it’s my dream. And they have so much variety. I was pleased to find good quality items as well. Stainless steel measuring cups and measuring spoons, colored glass bottles that I had seen at restaurants. Super cute cooler lunch bags, but since I work from home there was no point in getting that. In general, a very big store, with a lot to browse. They even have things for a home office — so they really cover everything!
My husband actually got me one of their simple Human retro garbage cans here when we were dating. Love the bright energetic colors!
During the holidays, or maybe in general, their gift bags/​wrapping selection is extensive. I actually wish I had more people to shop for just so I could buy the adorable things.
The staffers are nice too — I once brought my toy penguin with me and stuffed it into a gift bag for fun, and she commented how cute he was. Cashiers work efficiently. The lines haven’t been too long, but there will always be a slight wait. This will vary on season and time of the day/​week you go.

The location itself seems very large but they lack a lot in terms of inventory compared to their downtown location. If you need help, you can forget about it, it’s hard to find any staff and if you do find someone, they tell you to wait while they call someone else.

sometimes this place is disorganized when your order to pick up, but overall they’re very helpful and i love their things!!!

When I attempting to make closet space and protect my coats from moths, I went to the container store for the storage bag. I purchased the last one. I used my discount for signing up for their emails. When I got home (opened the package) I found a one inch tear in the bag. I was not in the mood to go back. I sewed it up.
This was not my first experience with inferior quality. I purchased a small plastic container. I purchased plastic in case I accidentally dropped it! Well sure enough, shortly after I purchased it, I accidentally dropped it on the wood floor. It cracked! Now the lid doesn’t seal tight.
I’m giving the Container Store three stars because it is a beautiful store. The employees are very nice. If you have the space to do a lot of storage, decorating, you’re going off to college, or starting up your first apartment, this is a great place. I do think you can find better quality elsewhere for less expense!
I’m thinking of unsubscribe get to the emails. I see that you need to buy large quantities to get a discount. Everyone likes on line purchasers. I am not going to spend $ 100.00 to get a discount. If you have a large family, maybe you will!
In all fairness 95% of the merchandise is fun, colorful, and desirable brand names. If I can’t find what I’m looking for elsewhere I do go to The Container Store!

In a nutshell:
Got cheated by the store — was charged $ 50.00 for the closet measurement after was told at the store there is NO charge for it!
Sadly, when I called to report the problem to the store manager I got accused of «twisting my story around».
Most incompetent staff and rude management — stay away from Lexington ave /​59 street location!
California closets will do the job once again beautifully!

I could get lost in The Container Store for hours.
This location is by my office, which is VERY dangerous for my wallet. It’s 2 massive stories filled with organizational items that you never realized you needed… Until now. Oh yes, I need a custom built wardrobe. Yep, I need a desk organizer even though my office would willingly provide one. So many things that you ooh and ahh over, and ultimately end up purchasing.
I was headed to an event when I popped in here so I did not buy anything but I made a mental list of what to purchase when I return… Which will be very soon. The prices are fair but if you’re like me and want one of everything, then the prices seem to blend into each other and suddenly you have a $ 200 bill at the register.
This is my Heaven on Earth.

I have been shopping here for many years and there is so much to love at the Container Store, most of which is covered by other reviewers.
My concerns are the long checkout waits even when the line is short. An organization store should surely be able to streamline the process. How about a few self-​checkout stations to start.
My other concern is the diminished quality of some products. I broke a folding clothes rack that I had for years. The replacement is now assembly required and pieces are damaged. Not what I have come to expect from CS.
CS employees are well trained for customer service which is really great in retail.
Really would like CS to improve so I can revise this review upward!

If you need to organize anything, this is the place to start. You come in needing a box to store something and you spend an hr deciding which material, size, and placement of it as well as every alternative option! You definitely leave with more than you expected. It’s like the Target of storage.
Staff is also super helpful and friendly. I built 3 closets using the Elfa system and they also installed it, they’re fantastic and Jen was SO helpful she went above and beyond my expectations. I have not a single complaint about this place, only that I wish there was one in Queens.
The return policy is great, and they’re so close to major subway lines so it’s easy to get to.

After seeing those Container Store subway ads for years (maybe even a decade), I decided to finally stop in on a whim. Could not believe I had deprived myself of that experience for so long. First of all, this place is gigantic. You think you’ve hit every corner, but wait, there’s more! They have everything from very specific jewelry organizers, plastic boxes, bathroom storage accessories, travel size bottles/​toothbrushes/​pillboxes, dorm organization stuff (including desks), and basically everything you would need to hang and store your clothes in a NYC apartment. Not exactly cheap, and I’ve seen some of the brands before in lower tier department stores, and the lines for the register are loooooong, but it’s so fun!

I came into the store to buy the clear acrylic shoe boxes to organize the bottom of my bathroom sink area. I chose to go on a Sunday morning so I could take my car and not have to lug my stuff on the subway back home. Parking was easy to find since there are no restrictions on Sunday!
I was like a giddy school girl as I walked aisle by aisle. It’s a paradise of containers and organizers where your imagination can go wild! Prices are more expensive than I’d like but I’m pretty sure the quality is great and you get what you pay for so I didn’t mind the «investment»!

Worst experience at the Container Store on 58^th & Lex!
I had their Elfa Closet system installed a while back, and just needed to buy a replacement piece for a drawer. Went to the the Elfa desk — there was one person working with a customer and another customer waiting. No one acknowledged that I was standing there, or explained the process. Tracked down another employee and was told i needed to add my name to the «queue». I was given a beeper and after a half hour wait — insisted that someone help me.
I then took my other purchases to the cashier for delivery, was told it would be between 6−9pm. I stayed home to wait and it is now 10:00pm — no delivery and no call from Container Store to say they were going to be late or if they still plan to make the delivery.
Yes they have a ton of stuff but for what I was purchasing could of gone to Bed, Bath & Beyond instead.

This is a dangerous store to go in. It’s kind of like going to Home Depot. You see all these THINGS that make you want to DO ALL THE THINGS and you suddenly feel like your apartment or house is a train wreck and only purchasing massive quantities of items in this store can help!
This two floor mega store of organization is amazing. I have never once gone there and not found some type of container, organizer, pitcher or um… THING to get better organized. Clear plastic drawer to store random things? Check! Air tight sealed pitcher for the fridge? Check! Display stands for my collection! Check (in several sizes)! The list just goes on and on. Just go in, wander around and your brain will go into overdrive (in a good way).
The staff is very helpful and friendly and the store is kept well organized. I never see the shelves trashed or things totally out of place (even during the busy Christmas shopping season).
Price-​wise, it’s a good idea to wait for sales but their regular prices are fairly reasonable in my book. Visit, let your mind wander and get organized!

This place never disappoints me! This location is well stacked with household items for all your organization needs.
The staff members are always friendly and helpful and every area in the store is labeled which makes it very easy to locate your items.
